Contact your Senators now and ask them to oppose the nomination of Tracy Stone-Manning

Washington, D.C.  – Joe Biden has nominated Tracy Stone-Manning to serve as the head of the U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM).

It is not often that the BLM nominee would capture the attention of pro-life supporters, but this one certainly is raising eyebrows for her radical leftist views on overpopulation.

Manning, a radical environmentalist, has been a proponent of population control policies that mirror those of the Communist China’s one and two-child limits and advocated for them in a 1992 graduate thesis prepared while attending the University of Montana.

As first reported on by the Daily Caller, in Stone-Manning’s thesis, she crafted eight commercials to “tug at the root of many of our environmental horrors, overpopulation.”

One of the ads she proposed depicted an American baby as an “environmental hazard.”

“We breed more than any industrialized nation,” the ad stated. “…On average, each of us gobbles the same energy as 3 Japanese, 13 Chinese, and 499 Ethiopians…When we overpopulate, the earth notices it more. Stop at two. It could be the best thing you do for the planet.”

Stone-Manning also prepared a script for a television commercial that struck an elitist attitude with racial tones on childbearing.

The script described a “thirtysomething” woman contemplating having a third child over a cup of coffee.

“I know it would be my third baby, but there’s not a population here like in Africa or India…and besides, smart people like Bob and I should be the ones having children,” the script reads.

After showing images of pollution Stone-Manning wrote propaganda that bemoaned the fact that, “Each year, Americans add 2 million energy-eating humans to the earth.”

The script concludes with a line that seems straight out of the Communist Chinese population control manual: “Do the truly smart thing. Stop at one or two kids.”

“That one or two child policies hasn’t worked out too well for China, which faces a demographic collapse because they are not having enough children to keep their economy viable,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman.  “Already, the latest fertility rates show that Americans are not having enough children to replace themselves.  Because of that, we are facing our own impending demographic crisis.”

Even the pro-abortion leftist publication Salon is warning about the “precipitous” decline in American birth rates that has been exacerbated by the China Virus pandemic.

The Salon article stated in part, “Indeed, last year marked the sixth year in a row births in America declined. The CDC said the U.S. birth rate is so low that the country is ‘below replacement levels’ — which means more people are dying than being born.”

“Americans need to be having more babies, not less,” said Newman.  “If pro-life supporters think Stone-Manning cannot affect abortion policy at the Bureau of Land Management, just consider that people in government tend to bounce from one governmental post to another and are not always replaced by incoming administrations. Her radical population control ideology will have a negative impact on families in some form, whether in this job or the next.  That makes it imperative that we strongly oppose her nomination.

Stone-Manning also has other issues that add to the controversy of her nomination.  In 1989, she reached an agreement to testify against tree-spikers in Idaho in exchange for immunity.  Tree-spiking is considered eco-terrorism because it can be deadly for loggers and prevents them from conducting legal logging activities.  She has accused of lying about the incident to a Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, who held hearings on her nomination.

She also opposes cattle grazing on public lands.  If confirmed, Stone-Manning would oversee 155 million acres of public land that currently allows for cattle grazing.  Cutting off cattle permits on that land could lead to a beef shortage in the U.S.

“It is obvious that Stone-Manning has no regard for human life,” said Newman.  “We must oppose her nomination because her radical Communist-inspired ideology poses a threat to our Constitutional Republic and to human life, both born and unborn.”

Please contact your U.S. Senators at this link and demand that they reject Tracy Stone-Manning’s nomination to lead the U.S. Bureau of Land Management.
