Dear Attorney General Phil Weiser,

You and your Department of Law have pledged to protect Colorado citizens, promising to hold “irresponsible businesses and individuals accountable when they harm Colorado consumers.”

On February 6, 2025, Alexis “Lexi” Arguello fell prey to the egregious, irresponsible practices of Planned Parenthood in Fort Collins, Colorado, losing her life at only 18-years-old. On that day, Arguello underwent a second-trimester abortion, during which she developed a complex, life-threatening complication. Despite needing the most immediate emergency care, later testimony revealed Planned Parenthood waited “too long” to call 911 and likely requested no sirens, further delaying the immediate life-saving care this Colorado woman needed.

Neither Planned Parenthood or any Colorado officials have acknowledged the tragic death of this young woman, even as the same Planned Parenthood is practically streamlining women to the emergency room — so far, seven other women have been injured at this clinic in 2025.

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment does not inspect, regulate, or discipline abortion clinics. No one is holding Planned Parenthood accountable for Lexi’s death, or the other women maimed by its substandard practices.

Attorney General Weiser, unlike the CDPHE, your office CAN investigate Planned Parenthood and the death of this young woman. Deeply concerned citizens have no other legal recourse but you.

Please investigate this incident immediately and with the careful attention Lexi Arguello’s life deserves. If there is wrongdoing, hold the wrongdoers accountable. Colorado women deserve better than abortion clinics with a ‘free pass’ to harm whomever they please. We ask you to investigate now!

Sincerely,
