WICHITA, KS — An article released by World Magazine alleges that late-term abortionist George R. Tiller of Wichita, KS, may be violating the Born Alive Infant Protection Act of 2002 by allowing infants born alive during abortions to die without taking steps to save their lives. The article contains quotes from Tiller abortionist, LeRoy Carhart, who has testified that babies are born alive during partial-birth abortions occur about “once a month.” Carhart travels to Wichita to abort babies for Tiller 2-3 times per month.
Operation Rescue has documented at least one such incident of a child being born alive during a Tiller abortion. The child, Sarah Brown, lived for five years before succumbing to injuries inflicted by Tiller during an abortion attempt in 1993. Although Sarah’s case is not prosecutable under the current law, which was enacted after Sarah’s tragedy, it stands as a testimony that such things do in fact occur at Tiller’s infamous late-term abortion mill, in spite of the clinic’s denials.
