Vote on Kavanaugh Confirmation Promised This Week

Washington, D.C. – The supplemental FBI background investigation into Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh is expected to wind up early before the Friday deadline agreed to by members of the Senate. Yesterday, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell promised that a final vote on Kavanaugh’s confirmation would take place later this week.

Democrats, with the help of retiring Republican Sen. Jeff Flake, have engaged in a constant campaign to bring spurious allegations against Kavanaugh in order to delay his confirmation indefinitely.

“If you listen carefully, Mr. President, you can practically hear the sounds of the Democrats moving the goalposts . . . Their goalposts keep shifting. But their goal hasn’t moved an inch. Not an inch,” McConnell said during a speech yesterday on the Senate floor.

“Do these actions suggest this has ever been about finding the truth? Anybody believe that?” asked McConnell.

Meanwhile, President Trump called out Democrats as hypocrites for attacking Kavanaugh as a liar. Trump reminded the news media that Democratic Sen. Richard Blumenthal, who has been most vicious in his attacks on Kavanaugh, had stolen valor when he lied for 15 years about being a Viet Nam war hero even though he actually was never in Viet Nam.

“For the Democrats, this is about keeping a liberal bias on the Supreme Court no matter what it takes or who it hurts. This is about maintaining the power that a liberally slanted Supreme Court gives them, including the ability to protect Roe v. Wade,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman.

“We can’t let them get away with destroying this good man and his family with unsubstantiated accusations and spurious claims that have stooped below the gutter and into the sewer,” Newman continued. “The longer this takes, the more fake accusations will be made, and the more the Kavanaugh family will be hurt.”

“You can be sure that will never end with Kavanaugh if we let them win,” Newman warned. “No pro-life conservative will ever be confirmed to the Supreme Court and no pro-life conservative will ever win another election if the Democrats are allowed to disqualify them in the court of public opinion by spouting blatantly false accusations without evidence. That means the grisly work of the abortionists will persist, and innocent blood will continue to flow at abortion facilities in every state. That’s why we must make a strong stand on this nominee.”

Please continue to let your Senators know that you stand behind Judge Kavanaugh and demand a vote on his confirmation without further delay.
