Wichita, KS — Operation Rescue took its “Operation Righteous Judgment” campaign to Reformation Lutheran Church over the weekend where late-term abortionist George R. Tiller and his wife, Jeanne, are members in good standing.
It was announced that there would be a meeting after the service to discuss Operation Rescue and the flyers that members of the congregation had received calling for the excommunication of abortionist George Tiller. [View Flyer]
As church members arrived for services, Rescuers stood outside the church holding signs with scriptures and photographs of aborted children.
“If the church is going to provide support and spiritual cover for an abortionist, they might as well see what it is they are supporting,” said OR Event Coordinator Cheryl Sullenger.
Pastor Tom Halstrom came out and photographed the group before services began.
Among attendees Sunday morning were the Tillers and Tiller employee Sara Phares Brown, who skipped out on services after dropping off her teenaged daughter at the church. Brown was seen engaged in suspicious activity near one of the Rescuer’s vehicles. It was later discovered that the vehicle had been vandalized. A police report was filed and a description of Brown and her vehicle tag number have been turned over to investigators.
Several Rescuers attended the service and quietly sat as the Tillers again participated in Communion, further dishonoring the Body and Blood of Christ.
Two rescuers attended the meeting and were confronted by an angry Tiller who seemed upset to find his photograph posted to the Operation Rescue web site. Their conversation was interrupted when the meeting was called to order and all non-members were asked to leave, including the two Rescuers. The meeting lasted for approximately 90 minutes.
“It is obvious that this church is now having to deal with the issue of harboring an unrepentant child-killer,” said OR President Troy Newman. “Please join us in praying for the repentance of Reformation Lutheran Church and the Tillers.”
Please continue to contact Tiller’s pastor and synod leaders and encourage them to stand true to the Biblical mandates regarding church discipline and excommunicate abortionist George Tiller and his wife, (and abortion mill co-owner), Jeanne.
