Washington, DC – With the conclusion of the hearings regarding the nomination of Judge Sonia Sotomayor to the U.S. Supreme Court, the Judiciary Committee has scheduled a vote on her confirmation for Tuesday, July 28 at 10 AM EDT. A vote in the full Senate is expected before the August 7 recess.
While Sotomayor’s confirmation seems to be a foregone conclusion, it is very important to let each Senator know that the pro-life majority in this nation is opposed to her on moral grounds. Her liberal background and affiliation with organizations that support abortion along with her statement that Roe v. Wade is “settled law” makes her unfit to serve.
We need to hold these politicians accountable to the people for their vote and send the clear message that pro-lifers will politically stand against those who will not stand for life.
