San Diego, CA — Operation Rescue has learned that 84-year old San Diego abortionist Phillip Rand has permanently surrendered his medical license. His license had been suspended in September, 2004, because of his involvement in a woman?s death during a late-term abortion in the Los Angeles area.
Rand was a shoddy abortionist who was sued over 40 times for malpractice and negligence, many of which were related to botched abortions. He withstood numerous license suspensions and other disciplinary actions taken against him the Medical Board of California.
San Diego pro-lifer Shirley Henry reports, “Great News!!! I just spoke with an attorney, Stephen Ziegan, at the Attorney General’s office in San Diego and he told me that Dr. Phillip Rand has surrendered his medical license on Friday! [March 11, 2005] He said he shouldn’t be practicing medicine at 84. I couldn’t contain myself and expressed delight maybe a little too loudly, but he said he was glad that we are happy about it and he was happy to help. Rand will never practice again, at least not legally. Hopefully this will be the end of him!”
