Ratings for the 2022 Winter Olympic Games in Beijing, China, tanked during the first weekend, showing that Americans do not support holding the Games in China, probably for several reasons.

Opening night on Thursday, February 3, 2020, posted the lowest ratings in 33 years.

Just 7.2 million people watched the Opening Ceremonies – down 55 percent from the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea, and down 64 percent from the 2014 Winter Olympics held in Sochi, Russia.

Weekend ratings for the Beijing Games improved little.  NBC reported 15.8 million viewers over all platforms compared to 27.27 million who watched the 2016 Summer Olympics Opening Ceremonies in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil – a significant 40% decline in viewership.

The Games have become known as the “Genocide Games,” primarily because of China’s ongoing persecution and murder of the Uygurs, an ethnic minority group in Northeast China.

But that description could also apply to China’s decades-long depopulation policies that included the human rights abuses of forced abortion and sterilization in which female babies were disproportionately targeted in favor of male babies.  These policies have led to a demographics crisis in China where its burgeoning elderly population is not being replaced and cannot be supported by its shrinking younger generations.  This is creating an economic crisis in the Communist nation.

Combine that with angry sentiment over following issues and that has resulted in American’s turning off  China’s big event meant to raise its stature on the world stage.

  • COVID-19 virus, which evidence shows likely originated in a lab in Wuhan, China, causing millions of deaths worldwide.
  • Tyrannical lockdowns and other mandates related to the China Virus that have ruined the U.S. economy and deprived millions of their freedoms to participate in work, school, church, and social events.
  • China’s threats to invade Taiwan, and military hostility to American forces operating in the South China Sea.
  • The theft by China of U.S. intellectual property and infiltration of nearly every influential social and industrial institution in the U.S.
  • Evidence that American politicians, including Joe Biden and his son, Hunter, have profited millions from dubious relationships with the Chinese communists.  Others, such as Diane Feinstein and Eric Swalwell, have been caught cavorting with Chinese spies.

Administration puts China over Americans

Now that the Games have begun, dozens of news reports are surfacing that reveal several concerning developments that indicated U.S. athletes may not be safe in China.

“Why are we so willing to put our citizens in harm’s way by sending them to a communist country that is America’s most dangerous and desperate enemy? Why are we participating in China’s propaganda gambit to gain respect worldwide while they commit human rights atrocities, conduct experiments that have sickened the world, and threaten to launch a war that will result in the Chinese Communists taking dominion over ever nation on earth?” said Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue.  “Our current administration has failed us, and in its weakness, is pandering to China our expense and the expense of our athletes.”

In response to public pressure to move the Games, the weak Biden Administration announced a “diplomatic boycott” of the 2022 Olympic Games on December 6, 2021, but just days later on December 27, it awkwardly admitted that the U.S. State Department had requested at least 18 visas so American diplomats could attend the Games.

“The so-called diplomatic boycott of the Games was a joke.  There are State Department staffers in Beijing right now having the time of their lives, while China reaps the benefits of hosting the prestigious Games, and our athletes remain at risk,” said Newman.

U.S. athletes at risk

U.S. athletes were told by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi not to speak critically of China during the Games.

“As I wish the athletes well, I do not encourage them to speak out against the Chinese government there because I fear for their safety if they do,” said Pelosi on Friday, as competition began. “[To] remove all doubt about why I said they shouldn’t speak out, it’s because I fear for their safety.”

Athletes have been warned not to take their personal cell phones to China, due to the high risk of tracking and spying through apps with built-in back doors that allow for China surveillance.  Instead, athletes were told to use burner phones while in China, and never use them again once the Games have concluded.

Those athletes who tested positive for COVID-19 upon entry to China were placed in isolation hotels.  Horror stories have surfaced on social media where athletes complained about the unsanitary conditions, a lack of edible food, and inadequate Wi-Fi services that left them cut off from contact with the outside world.

“My stomach hurts, I’m very pale, and I have huge black circles around my eyes. I want all this to end. I cry every day. I’m very tired,” said Russian athlete Valeria Vasnetsova said once she could finally access her Instagram account.

The International Olympic Committee intervened, resulting in the transfer of some athletes to the Olympic Village for continued isolation.  Others have been allowed to order food from the Olympic Village. Some will stay in isolation and never be allowed to compete – an Olympic nightmare that has replaced their Olympic dreams.

Why China wants U.S. DNA

Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) has expressed concern that the DNA of U.S. athletes could be collected by the Chinese Communists, violating the rights and privacy of our citizens.

China is well known to possess the largest repository of American DNA in the world.  China expert and commentator Gordon Chang has warned that China could be using American DNA to target the U.S. and other nations.

“China’s working on pathogens that will leave the Chinese alone – the Chinese will be immune to them – but they will sicken everybody else.  So, China’s working on civilization killers.  This could leave China as the only viable society,” Chang said Steve Bannon’s Pandemic War Room on March 13, 2021.

White-washing atrocities

Operation Rescue called for a delay to the games and their relocation to a nation that is not engaged in genocide, forced abortion, spying, or military plans for world domination.

Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo asked for a similar response to the “Genocide Games,” and sid so much during an interview with Fox News’ told Maria Bartiromo over the weekend.

“We know what Xi wants. Xi wants to white-wash his regime. . . I called for a boycott, not because I didn’t want these athletes to have the opportunity to compete and excel.  We could have done this in a million places.  Instead, we chose to do it in a regime while it’s conducting genocide, and in Beijing, with leadership that has no right to the glory of these games . . . And I so regret that these games are going on today in that terrible place.
