OMAHA, Neb. – Pro-life groups will join together to protest a banquet held by Planned Parenthood of the Heartland that will feature billionaire abortion apologist Susie Buffet, daughter of Warren Buffet, and Planned Parenthood’s national leader, Cecile Richards.
Saturday night, October 23, 2010, pro-lifers will gather outside the Holiday Inn at 3321 South 72nd Street (at Grover) from 5 to 7:30 p.m. for a prayer vigil and picket.
“Planned Parenthood’s party is a slap in the face of everything America stands for. It’s never appropriate to celebrate the denial of the precious right to life for the most vulnerable human beings,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. “Given the fact that Planned Parenthood of the Heartland is under investigation for illegal abortions, celebrating seems even more inappropriate.”
The Truth Truck will be on hand to expose the horrific nature of abortion is supported by Buffet and committed by Planned Parenthood.
From its beginnings under Margaret Sanger’s edgy eugenics to today’s notorious standing as the nation’s leading provider and promoter of abortion, Planned Parenthood Federation of America has never lacked a racy reputation. Now, no fewer than one dozen of its heartland clinics seem determined to outpace their own shoddy standards by engaging in a dangerous and illegal telemed abortion scam. In these clinics, a woman’s only access to a doctor happens via webcam. A push-button opens a drawer with abortion pills, and the woman is left alone to deal with the abortion labor and delivery by herself.
Pro-lifers will expose this scandal at the picket.
Susie Buffett of Omaha has created an enormous money trail to Planned Parenthood, with hundreds of millions given through the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation in honor of her mother. Under her chairmanship, the Buffett Foundation not only funded the clinical trials of RU-486 but also currently funds the dangerous and illegal telemed clinics in Iowa that dispense this drug without a doctor present.
The Buffett Foundation also underwrites The Family Planning Fellowship, exclusively available to medical students who commit to learning and performing abortions. These young fellowship recipients will attend at Planned Parenthood’s so-called “Party with Passion.”

UPDATE: Over 50 pro-life supporters turned out to protest Planned Parenthood of the Heartland’s fundraising banquet on Saturday evening. The protesters held signs on three of the streets surrounding the venue, so the community was well aware of their presence. Larry Donlan of Rescue the Heartland drove Operation Rescue’s Truth Truck up and down the streets so that event goers could see the images of aborted babies whose killing they support. Donlan told Operation Rescue, “One man held a sign reading, ‘Honk For Life,’ resulting in a continuous chorus of horns heard all the way down the street.”
“Those who turn out to support Planned Parenthood need to face the truth about what they are really supporting, and that is the brutal killing of innocent children. We pray consciences were pricked by this outreach and that the result will be fewer funds for Planned Parenthood to use to promote their abortion business,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman.
The previous day, pro-lifers rallied in Des Moines, Iowa, to oppose PPH’s dangerous and illegal webcam abortion pill distribution scheme.
“This weekend, Planned Parenthood felt community disapproval in their strongholds in Des Moines and Omaha,” said Newman. “We continue to pray and work with authorities in both states to bring a speedy end to the killing of children in Iowa and Nebraska.”
