Operation Rescue calls upon Bush to take aggressive and immediate action against abortion.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — With Senator John Kerry conceding the election to President Bush, the pollsters and pundits are declaring that the moral and faith-based vote was the deciding factor in the 2004 presidential election.
Operation Rescue calls upon President Bush to waste no time in pushing forward the Culture of Life and urges him to take immediate and aggressive action to stop the shedding of innocent blood through abortion in our nation.
“The moral conservative and religious voter turned out in droves and has proven to be the backbone of the Republican Party,’ said Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue. “Today, the President owes the pro-life movement a huge debt.”
Operation Rescue spent the last three weeks prior to the election in the critical states of Ohio and Pennsylvania, exposing Kerry’s support for a “culture of death.” Newman believes that effort helped propel Bush to victory in the election-deciding state of Ohio.
“Mr. President, you have been given a mandate to end abortion in our nation by the American people who cast their votes for you. Please move forward aggressively to appoint pro-life federal judges, and when the time comes, appoint Supreme Court Justices that will strike down the scourge of Roe v. Wade,” said Newman. “We plead with you to act courageously on behalf of the innocent babies and pray for you to that end.”
