Outreaches to religious leaders simultaneously take place in Wichita, KS and Orlando, FL

WICHITA, KS — Operation Rescue distributed leaflets and held signs outside a gathering of nearly 500 local pastors at Westlink Christian Church in Wichita, KS yesterday to call for the excommunication of late-term abortionist George Tiller and ask for pastors to become more involved in stopping abortion. The Truth Truck was also on hand, circling the area with its powerful message about the sinful, violent nature of abortion.
While most pastors took the information and were courteous, some were rude. A group of three men unsuccessfully attempted to stop Operation Rescue from distributing the material on the public right-of-way while participants arrived for a leadership conference held at the large west-side church.
“I won’t forget this,” one of the men threatened.
Meanwhile, a group of Rescuers led by Tom McGlade distributed flyers calling for the excommunication of George R. Tiller outside the “Churchwide Assembly of ELCA” national convention in Orlando, Florida, where over 1,000 members were expected to attend. ELCA is the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, the synod where Tiller’s church, Reformation Lutheran Church, is a member.
McGlade reports, “We didn’t receive much feedback from the flyers, most were on their way to a session, however we did get a few who said we were crazy and a few who were very interested.”
Operation Rescue thanks the McGlades and the other Florida participants for their tireless efforts on behalf of the pre-born. We pray that the seeds sown at these two events will convict hearts and lead to true repentance in the Church for their culpability in the sin of abortion
UPDATE:
We have a new contact in the ELCA organization that we would encourage Christians to contact regarding the need for the excommunication of late-term abortionist George R. Tiller from Reformation Lutheran Church where he is currently being given Communion and spiritual covering in opposition to the mandates of scripture.
