Washington, DC — Operation Rescue is calling Ms. Magazine’s “We Had Abortions” campaign a pathetic attempt to grab media for their dying cause.
“So what if they say they have 5,000* women who have signed their petition. That is less that two days worth of abortions that take place at our nation’s abortion chop shops,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. “That is hardly a measurable percentage.”
“Five thousand names is nothing compared to the 45 million abortions since 1973. Based on what we know from working closely with ministries that provide post-abortion counseling, the vast majority of those women now regret their abortions.”
“You can always find a small fraction of a minority of people who will remain proud of their bad conduct,” said Newman. “Charles Manson is still proud of his exploits. You won’t get a word of sorry out of his mouth, either.”
“All indications are that abortion movement is a dying one. Abortion mills are closing at an unprecedented rate, states are lining up to ban abortion, and Americans — especially the younger generations — are becoming more and more pro-life,” said Newman. “Even Ms. Magazine’s pathetic little publicity stunt cannot provide enough CPR to revive it.”
*Note: Operation Rescue gathered over 7,700 signatures of registered voters in Sedgwick County, KS alone in just two months calling for a grand jury investigation of late-term abortionist George R. Tiller for the death of Christin Gilbert. The fact that Ms. Magazine could only get 5,000 signatures out of a group of over 40 million women shows how out of touch they are with the reality of the pain suffered by millions of women that now regret their abortions.
