Flossmoor, IL – Two emergency 911 calls were made from the Planned Parenthood abortion facility in Flossmoor, Illinois, urgently requesting an ambulance “as soon as possible” for a woman who was described as “bleeding out” after a surgical abortion.

“Based on the recordings of the emergency calls from Planned Parenthood, this was a very serious medical emergency.  The woman was literally bleeding to death, and the second caller voiced a sense of urgency that this woman was in real trouble,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman.  “Help couldn’t get there fast enough.”

According to 911 records for the October 9, 2020, emergency that were provided to Operation Rescue by the Pro-Life Action League, the 25-year old woman was sedated and unconscious during the ordeal.

The first call, placed at 3:06 p.m., indicated that the woman was “bleeding out” and needed an ambulance.  At that point, the 911 dispatcher stopped asking all the usual questions and dispatched an ambulance to the scene.

The 911 operator instructed the Planned Parenthood worker, “If anything changes with her condition, if she stops breathing, I need you to call me back and let me know what’s happening.”

The ambulance arrived about three minutes later.

Moments after the first call, a second Planned Parenthood worker placed another call to 911.  The stress in her voice was notable.

PP: Sorry, we need an emergency – like, I need an ambulance now here –

911: Where are you at?

PP: I’ve — Planned Parenthood.  We need an ambulance as soon as possible for a patient.

The caller indicated that the patient was still bleeding, but was told that an ambulance was already on the way.

The woman was transported to Advocate South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest, Illinois, which is located three miles north of the Flossmoor Planned Parenthood.

This is the fifth medical emergency at the Flossmoor Planned Parenthood reported to Operation Rescue since it opened in 2018.  Four of the incidents represented life-threatening medical emergencies, with the most recent on October 9, 2020, appearing to be the most urgent.

“This Planned Parenthood was said to be a state-of-the-art abortion facility when it was built a couple of years ago, yet they can’t seem to keep their abortion clients out of the emergency room.  This shows yet again that abortion is not safe and carries more risks than Planned Parenthood wants women to believe,” said Newman.  “Women risk their health and even their lives when they walk through the doors of an abortion facility.”

Other emergencies took place at the Flossmoor Planned Parenthood on the following dates:

May 8, 2020: Woman suffered possible uterine perforation during abortion.

May 7, 2020: Video taken by a pro-life activist showed a female as she was wheeled out of Planned Parenthood on a gurney and loaded into a private ambulance.  No 911 records were available.

November 12, 2019: Abortion patient hemorrhaged.

December 14, 2018: A 34-year old woman hemorrhaged after an abortion.  Planned Parenthood’s efforts to stop the hemorrhaging failed.
