Bakersfield, CA — An abortionist who survived a failed suicide attempt has injured another woman during part of a second trimester abortion procedure.
Patient J.P. was rushed to the hospital on January 17, 2018, after suffering complications to a botched laminaria insertion conducted the day before by abortionist Donald Clyde Willis at the FPA Women’s Health abortion facility in Bakersfield, California.
This is the seventh abortion-related medical emergencies caused by Willis. After injuring six women in 2017, his streak of carnage was temporarily halted after he appeared to have been involved in an accident of some sort in which he suffered a broken arm. He returned to work at the FPA abortion center earlier this month.
Patient J.P. was accompanied by her mother to the abortion facility after rebuffing her pleas for her daughter to keep her baby.
Once at the abortion facility for the completion of her abortion, Patient J.P. complained of severe pain and cramps and was seen by a second abortionist, Justin Diedrich, who called an ambulance to transport her to the nearby Adventist Health Hospital.
Upon arrival of the ambulance, the mother saw the gurney with a woman completely covered in sheets, and began to ask if it was her daughter that was being transported. FPA staff refused to respond to her as the injured woman was loaded into the ambulance for transport.
Once the ambulance left, Diedrich, called J.P.’s mother inside and explained that when Willis had inserted the laminaria dilators, he had “poked a hole” internally and that the laminaria “went through the wrong thing.”

Perforations of the uterus or cervix are known complications to laminaria insertion that are caused when the dilators are inserted with too much force.
Pro-life activists on the sidewalk befriended the mother, and later, the injured woman. One pro-life volunteer, Mary Darrah, has remained in contact with them, according to Tim Palmquist, a long-time pro-life activist who recorded the ambulance incident.
According to Palmquist, J.P. was rushed into surgery where doctors worked on repairing the damage for about two hours. She required at least two pints of blood, indicating there may have been serious internal injuries and hemorrhaging. Her dead baby was delivered at the hospital.
J.P. told Darrah the abortionist Justin Diedrich attempted to contact her while she was in the hospital, but she refused to speak with him. She said that she never wanted to return to the FPA Women’s Health again.
“Less than a week after returning to work at the FPA abortion business, Willis botches yet another procedure and sends another woman to the hospital. This illustrates Willis’ incompetence and the danger he poses to women,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. “The woman apparently regrets her abortion decision and now needs our prayers.”
Operation Rescue filed a complaint against Willis last year after the spate of abortion-related injuries suffered by women raised questions of incompetence. That complaint has been accepted by the California Medical Board and it remains under investigation.
In 1993, a depressed Willis attempted suicide over a difficult divorce. As he sat in a park behind his Oregon home, he put a gun to his forehead and pulled the trigger. Surprisingly, he survived. After he was well enough, Willis spent three months confined to a mental hospital.

Other medical emergencies involving Willis are listed below.

October 3, 2017: A 23-year old Hispanic woman suffered a perforated uterus during an abortion. Once at the hospital, she suffered cardiac arrest. Her heart reportedly stopped for five minutes before doctors could revive her. Her injuries were so serious that she received an emergency hysterectomy.
January 10, 2017: A woman was extracted from the abortion business completely wrapped in sheets without any visible signs of ongoing treatment. It is unknown if she was still alive.
February 4, 2017: (First Incident) A patient was wheeled out of the abortion business and transported with no lights or sirens to Kern Medical Center.
February 4, 2017: (Second Incident) A woman was transported by ambulance to San Joaquin Hospital’s emergency room. She was covered in a sheet, but was obviously receiving ongoing medical care.
February 18, 2017: A female patient was transported from FPA Women’s Health to a nearby hospital. The disturbing pattern of botched abortions caused Operation Rescue to issue an Urgent Public Safety Advisory to women seeking abortions in the area of Bakersfield, California.
August 19, 2017: A woman who appeared to be awake and moving was transported to Kern Medical where she was rushed into the emergency room.
