Ambulances were called to the Planned Parenthood abortion facility in Orange, California earlier this year for two women who were injured during abortions.  The emergencies happened within less than 30 days of each other.

Operation Rescue obtained copies of the 911 call recordings and Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) printouts for both incidents.

On January 16, 2021, an employee of Planned Parenthood called 911 for a 36-year-old woman who had suffered a serious complication to a first trimester abortion.

“We need to transfer a patient emergently to the hospital – uh, UCI, for a complication of a first trimester abortion,” the Planned Parenthood caller said.

She requested that the paramedics go to the back door of the facility.

The CAD printout indicated that the woman was transported to UCI Medical Center under a Priority Charlie designation, meaning the condition was considered life-threatening, requiring an ambulance equipped for Advanced Life Support.

The second medical emergency took place on February 13, 2021.  This time, the Planned Parenthood caller was evasive about why an ambulance was needed.

911:  Okay, tell me what happened.

PP:  Um, so we can get more information as they arrive.  We can brief them when they arrive.

911: I’m sorry, I can barely understand what you are saying.  What’s the medical emergency?

PP:  For heavy bleeding.

911: For heavy bleeding?

PP: Yeah, the doctor is by the patient’s side and so we will be able to fully brief them once the paramedics arrive.

When asked where the patient was bleeding, the Planned Parenthood simply did not answer.  Finally, after prompting by the 911 dispatcher, she curtly said, “We’re calling in regards to a complication from an abortion procedure.”

According to the CAD, an ambulance was dispatched for “bleeding/lacerations” involving “dangerous/serious hemorrhage.”

The woman was transported by ambulance to UCI Medical Center under a Priority Delta, meaning her condition posed a serious threat to life and required an ambulance equipped for Advanced Life Support.

“Both these emergencies were profoundly serious in nature.  The evasive Planned Parenthood worker who did not want to reveal the full nature of that woman’s injuries literally placed the patient’s life in further jeopardy,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman.  “At Planned Parenthood, it appears workers have been trained to put Planned Parenthood’s public relations interests above the lives and health of the women they say they serve.  This is a despicable practice that will likely continue in the leftist state of California where there is a systemic attitude that Planned Parenthood must be protected at all costs.  That is why it is imperative that people of faith and good will maintain a presence at these evil places to pray and offer help to women who are bound for abortions.  That act of mercy may just save a baby’s life, along with the life of his or her mother.”
