Fifteen Women Injured in Illinois This Year Alone

Chicago, IL — Two more women suffered complications at two Chicago-area abortion facilities this summer. According to 911 records obtained by Pro-Life Action League, each woman required emergency medical services following abortion procedures, one at Planned Parenthood Near North in Chicago and another at Carafem in Skokie.

The emergency recordings, dated July 9 and August 21, 2026, respectively, offer a troubling look at the state of medical emergencies unfolding inside unregulated abortion facilities where women go imagining themselves to be safe but who are, instead, put at great risk by a state that is letting abortion businesses operate with no oversight.

Planned Parenthood Near North: Complications arise when abortionist creates false uterine passages

On July 9, 2026, Planned Parenthood Near North, located at 1200 North LaSalle Drive in Chicago, contacted emergency services requesting an ambulance transfer for a 28-year-old woman.

The caller initially described the situation as a “patient who needed to be transferred to the hospital” following an incomplete procedure. When the dispatcher pressed for an explanation, the clinic employee disclosed that the patient had been undergoing an abortion.

The caller explained that the patient had “a procedure, an abortion” and the reason the abortion could not be completed was particularly concerning: the abortionist could not complete it because the patient had a “false uterine passage.”

This begs the question: What are false uterine passages, and why are they dangerous?

A false uterine passage, also called a false tract or false passage, is an unintended pathway created when an instrument entering the uterus travels into or through uterine tissue, rather than following the normal cervical canal and entering the uterine cavity.

This complication can occur during procedures involving cervical dilation, uterine sounding, or insertion of surgical instruments. The normal route into the uterus follows the cervical canal. When that route is difficult to identify or navigate, an improperly inserted instrument can forcibly create a passage through the uterine wall or into the surrounding tissue.

A false passage does not always mean that a full uterine perforation has occurred. However, uterine perforation occurs often in abortions, and the formation of a false passage increases the risk of an actual perforation.

The most common consequences of a false passage are injury to the uterine muscle, bleeding, uterine perforation, and injury to nearby structures including the blood vessels, bowel or bladder.

“In the 911 recording, it is not clear whether the patient experienced a total perforation, significant bleeding, or injury to another organ, but it is clear that due to the nature of the woman’s injury, the abortionist was unable to complete the surgical abortion. The subsequent decision to call 911 and transfer the sedated patient to a hospital demonstrates that the situation required escalation and intervention by emergency personnel,” said Operation Rescue Chief Operating Officer Sarah Neely.

Not only was the woman suffering from a uterine passage, her condition was also complicated by the many medications she had received during the procedure. According to the clinic employee, the patient had been administered fentanyl, Versed (midazolam), and ketamine — all within a timeframe of approximately 30 minutes.

Neely adds, “It’s also important to note that the 911 computer-aided dispatch report marked the priority as ‘1A’ with response level ‘1.’ That indicates the patient was at high risk. This was likely a very serious injury – and one that should be promptly investigated by the state.”

Carafem Skokie: Woman suffers heavy bleeding following “procedure”

A second Chicago-area abortion emergency took place on August 21, 2026, at Carafem in Skokie. In this case, a 30-year-old woman was suffering from what the employee described to the 911 dispatcher as “heavy bleeding following a procedure.”

When, naturally, the dispatcher responded to ask what procedure the woman had undergone, the employee evaded answering directly and vaguely responded “a gynecological procedure.”

The abortion staffer on the phone then went a step further and requested that emergency responders avoid using their sirens. The dispatcher said they noted the request, but it would be up to the emergency team.

“Once more, the cartel wants to operate in secrecy,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. “As usual, they request no lights and no sirens in order to draw attention and avoid accountability.”

When emergency medical personnel arrived, they found the patient with uncontrollable bleeding, and her blood pressure fell to 50/30. They put her on “ALS” or Advanced Life Support, and transported her to the closest hospital facility.

“Many of these emergencies can be deadly,” Newman commented. “Not too long ago, we had the death of 18-year-old Lexi Arguello due to negligence by Planned Parenthood, an abortion operation that delayed the care she needed to survive. We have also recently documented the case of another abortion patient who lost pulse, and still another who was unconscious.

“Radicalized states like Illinois promote abortion as health care — while babies are murdered, mothers are injured, and authorities keep looking the other way.”

Together: Standing for Life, Voting for Life

“The only way we can stop the abortion cartel—with God’s help and grace—is by prayerfully working together and standing for life in every legal way possible,” Newman said.

“We must be a voice for those who have no voice not only outside the abortion mills and on street corners, but also in the ballot box and in government. We must elect officials committed to life and the protection of the unborn, officials who will not close their eyes but will hold abortionists accountable. This is why your vote matters.

“Vote this Tuesday. Don’t fall into inaction or depression. Every race in which you don’t cast a vote simply gives your indirect support for leaders who most likely promote child sacrifice as health care. Again, the only way to stop this is by working together. Each one of us. In each community. At each abortion facility. On each ballot. Only together can we achieve our ultimate goal: to abolish abortion in America,” Newman concluded.
