Abortion will be on several state ballots again this year, two particularly crucial ones in the pro-life states of Missouri and Idaho.
Missouri: A Chance to Win Back Ground
Missouri was one of the first states to become abortion-free when the Dobbs decision came down in 2022. For nearly two years, no abortion clinics were operating within the state and children in the womb were given robust legal protection.
However, in 2024, the preborn suffered a devastating blow when Planned Parenthood and Big Abortion turned its attention (and millions in funding) towards Missouri. With roughly $9 million from out-of-state donors, alone, Planned Parenthood convinced voters to ratify a radically pro-abortion amendment, which legalized abortion through all nine months of pregnancy and opened the door to strike down every pro-life law in the state — something Planned Parenthood wasted no time doing.
Within a year, three abortion clinics were suddenly in operation, despite only one facility across the whole state offering abortions the year before Dobbs. In 2026, that number has doubled. Both chemical and surgical abortions up to 20 weeks are being committed in 6 facilities across the state. All six are Planned Parenthoods.
Now, Missourians have a chance to push back on Big Abortion and retake their state from the clutches of Planned Parenthood. In November, another Amendment 3 will be on the ballot — this time to undo the damage of the amendment passed in 2024. By voting YES on Missouri’s Prohibit Abortion and Gender Transition Procedures for Minors Amendment (Amendment 3), citizens can repeal the right to abortion through all nine months in the state constitution as well as prohibit gender transition surgeries for minors — another big moneymaker for Planned Parenthood.
“This is the absolutely crucial moment,” says Newman. “No one who is a registered pro-life voter can sit this one out. It’s the courage of Missouri versus the shallow greed of Planned Parenthood — and I believe wholeheartedly that Missourians want to see protections for children in the womb reestablished, just as they did in 2022 when Missouri became one of the first abortion-free states. We can win that ground back in November.”
Idaho: Prop 1 Seeks to Remove All Protections
There are several ongoing efforts from abortion radicals to strike down or repeal Idaho’s strong protections for the children in the womb, including the proposed pro-abortion amendment known as Prop 1.
Like Missouri, Idaho became abortion-free as soon as Roe v Wade was overturned in 2022. Since then, abortion groups have been desperately trying to regain their ability to kill preborn children for money in the state. This year, those groups finally managed to make it over the threshold of valid signatures needed to get an amendment on the ballot. The required number of valid signatures is 70,725. Pro-aborts managed to collect just over 75,000 signatures that could be validated.
If passed, Prop 1 will do more than just repeal Idaho’s current abortion ban, it will establish a right to abortion up to “viability.” As with nearly every abortion amendment that has passed in other states, the original understanding of “viability” found in Roe will be redefined with far more vague language easily interpreted by courts and legislators to include abortions far into the second and even third trimester. Prop 1 will also expand the exception for a mother’s health, allowing for more abortions and through all nine months. It will also lay the legal groundwork to immediately strike down laws like parental consent and Idaho’s physician-only requirement.
“Under this new amendment, an untrained nurse could perform a surgical abortion on your 13-year-old daughter and you, the parent, would not be told,” says Newman. “This amendment will create the same abortion wasteland radicals have created in conservative Kansas, where abortion has increased 186% in only a few years. I cannot stress enough how important it is for every pro-life Idahoan to vote in November.”
To pass the amendment, Prop 1 would need a simple majority — right around 515,000 votes.
Newman adds, “It is up to Idahoans to stop that from happening. You must show up at the polls and vote an adamant NO on Prop 1. It is time to show abortion radicals that want to take over our abortion-free states that their campaign money has been wasted, their lies not believed, and their sense of entitlement over innocent babies’ lives not accepted. Vote NO on November 3rd.”
Vote Like Lives Depend On It
Newman also warns about pro-lifers believing either of these races are already won. Kansas is a conservative, pro-life state, but pro-life voters did not turn out in force when cementing a right to abortion in the state constitution was on the ballot. The state has paid dearly for it ever since, in the loss of innocent life and the number of abortion clinics within the state doubling.
Missourians also failed to defeat an abortion amendment in 2024, with many conservative voters likely thinking there was no way such an amendment would ever pass. They, too, have seen the chaos and killing that has ensued in less than two years.
“The abortion radicals are just hoping pro-life voters decide to stay home, believing their vote is not really needed,” Newman says. “Disappoint them. Show up and vote pro-life like lives depend on it — because, really and truly, lives do.”
