Dayton Prayer Vigil Disrupted While Voter Fraud Concerns Surface

Dayton, Ohio – The Ohio Prayer for Life team experienced a moment of drama yesterday when a security guard tried to break up a prayer vigil at the Dayton City Hall.

The security guard seemed particularly annoyed that Troy Newman of Operation Rescue, was talking on his cell phone just inside the City Hall lobby where he had taken temporary shelter from the cold rain while waiting for the vigil to begin. Police were called to the scene and quickly straightened out the situation and the prayer vigil proceeded without further incident.

“This just shows how emotions are running high right now,” said Newman. “The security guard completely overreacted. We are just glad that the situation easily handled and that the police respected our rights.”

Earlier in the day, Troy and Rev. Pat Mahoney of the Christian Defense Coalition, spent time in prayer outside the Early Voting Booth in Columbus, where a “circus atmosphere” with campaigners from both sides had developed.

Operation Rescue has heard disturbing reports of “shenanigans” at that voting center, which seemed to be supported by a news article published yesterday that reported on a woman who complained to election officials after her attempt to vote for Romney was recorded on her touch screen as a vote for Obama.

“At this point, voter turnout and voter fraud are our two biggest concerns, not only in Ohio, but across the nation,” said Newman. “We continue to pray and ask all good people of conscience to join us in praying for this election where ever they may be.”

A rally is scheduled in Cincinnati this evening featuring Fr. Frank Pavone of Priests for Life, sponsored by Catholics for Ohio. Click for more information.

Too Close to Call: Ohio Prayer For Life Tour Focuses on Record Number of Early Voters

Columbus, OH – The Ohio Prayer for Life Tour, led by Troy Newman of Operation Rescue and Rev. Pat Mahoney of the Christian Defense Coalition, started the day at the Early Voting Center in Columbus, Ohio, praying for a record number of citizens who are casting their ballots early.

The Truth Truck, adorned with signs urging Ohioans to vote pro-life, parked just across the 100 foot line that is meant to create a no-politicking zone around the polling place. Outside the zone, free speech rules with both sides vying for each precious vote in a state that is literally a toss up.

“Most of the voters going in are Obama supporters so it should be an interesting morning. I think they need to know what this President supports. It should be an interesting morning! Pray for us!” posted Rev. Mahoney on his Facebook page this morning.

Troy and Pat will participate in a prayer rally at City Hall in Dayton beginning at noon today. City Hall is located at 101 West Third Street in Dayton.

Polls show that Romney is surging in Ohio, a state that is considered critical to a GOP victory. The latest Rasmussen Poll released on Monday shows Romney up by 2 percent, but the race is just too close to call.

“In spite of cold rain and high winds, the enthusiasm and energy here is strong. There is a sense that we are making history in Ohio,” said Newman.

“We remain very concerned about voter fraud and vote tally manipulation. We are working around the clock in Ohio to get out the pro-life vote and pray for God’s hand on the election outcome. With just a few days left, this is the final push!”

Faith and Pro-Life Leaders Conducting ‘Prayer for Life Tour’ Throughout the State of Ohio

DAYTON, Ohio, Oct. 30, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ — Ohio is the “Ground Zero” of the Presidential election season and Operation Rescue and the Christian Defense Coalition are meeting with faith and pro-life leaders around the state praying for God’s direction and guidance in the elections.

Event Details:

Group to hold prayer vigil in front of Dayton City Hall on Wednesday, October 31, at 12:00 P.M.
The Dayton, Ohio City Hall is located at 101 West Third Street in Dayton.

The groups are also praying that candidates who embrace life, human rights for all and stand against the violence of abortion are elected to office.

Rev. Patrick Mahoney, Director of the Christian Defense Coalition in Washington, D.C., comments:

“This is the most important Presidential election since 1860 and Ohio is the most critical state in the nation. We are traveling throughout the entire state praying and meeting with faith and pro-life leaders.

“Sadly, President Obama has become the most pro-abortion President in America history and has trampled on human rights and equal justice for all. As we go across the wonderful State of Ohio, we are praying for a President that will end the violence of abortion, embrace human rights for all and end this tragic war on women.

“We are praying in Ohio because it is clear whomever wins Ohio will be the next President of the United States.”

Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue, states:

“We are at the critical last-minute push for God to remove the most pro-abortion President in America’s history. We are praying non-stop, in the battleground State of Ohio, for the Lord to move in power and strength.

“We believe there is always one more thing we do to impact this election-and that is prayer!”

Bryan Kemper, Youth Outreach Director for Priests for Life, adds:

“As an Ohio resident and father of seven children, I feel this is the most important election in my lifetime. I am joining this prayer vigil because our nation needs a true message of hope that we can only find with God.

“We will be seeking God and crying out for our leaders no matter what their political affiliation is.”

Ohio Prayer for Life Tour Field Report: Hundreds Turn Out to Pray for the Election

Columbus, Ohio – Hundreds of Christians turned out in Columbus yesterday to pray for the upcoming Presidential Election on the first day of the Ohio Prayer for Life Tour. They were joined by Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue and Pro-life Nation and Rev. Patrick Mahoney, Director of the Christian Defense Coalition. The two are touring the critical swing state for the week, praying and rallying Christians to vote pro-life.

Yesterday began with the distribution of pro-life literature to several churches in the Columbus area, followed by a “Prayer Storm” in the Capitol Atrium and a Prayer Rally at a local church where Rev. Mahoney was a featured speaker.

This morning started out early praying in Columbus near an early polling site, praying for protection against voter fraud in a state where each and every vote will count. The most recent polls show that Romney and Obama are tied at 49% each.

After prayer at another early polling site in Westerville, Troy and Pat are headed to Cincinnati for more prayer events. Cincinnati is the home of the notorious late-term abortionist Martin Haskell, who is known to flex his own political muscle through campaign contribution to Democratic/pro-abortion politicians.

Please join us in praying today for the following requests:

• Pray for safety for Troy and Pat as they travel throughout Ohio, which is feeling the effects of Hurricane Sandy. Troy reported this morning that they were driving through 60 mile an hour winds and heavy rain.
• Pray for protection against voter fraud, which is a real concern in such a close election. Pray against fraudulent voting by unqualified voters and against vote tally manipulation.
• Pray that conservative Christians would turn out to vote in record numbers.
• Pray that the truth about the issues would not be suppressed by a liberal media that is attempting to manipulate public opinion.

Please join our Ohio Prayer for Life Tour Facebook group at Updates and meeting times and places will be posted there by Troy and others throughout each day.
