Operation Rescue vows to continue efforts to bring Tiller to justice

Wichita, KS – Today a jury of three men and three women found George Tiller not guilty on 19 charges of illegal abortions.

Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue releases the following statement:

Justice has been denied! Today a jury found late-term abortionist George R. Tiller not guilty of having committed 19 illegal abortions in 2003. While disappointed in the verdict, we at Operation Rescue are not deterred in our commitment to one day bring Tiller to justice. The 19 charges that Tiller faces were only a small fraction of the illegal activity that we believe and have documented that occurs at Tiller’s Wichita abortion clinic. On behalf of the pre-born children wrongly killed by Tiller and his associates, we vow to press on until Tiller is finally held accountable to the law and his late-term abortion mill is permanently closed.

Cheryl Sullenger, Senior Policy Advisor for Operation Rescue releases the following statement:

We must remember that these are the weakest charges that could have been brought by the state. There were thirty criminal charges filed by former Attorney General Phill Kline, which were much stronger that were dismissed on jurisdictional grounds without having been considered on their merits. While we are disappointed by the verdict, we are far from surprised.

We thank Assistant Attorney General Barry Disney for the job that he tried to do. He did the best he could with the hand he was dealt. We wish he had been dealt a stronger hand. We are committed to continuing our efforts to bring Tiller to justice and we are confident that justice will one day prevail.

I have been praying for this trial while recovering from a hip replacement surgery. I just read the verdict, and I immediately went to my Bible. When I do not know where to read, I usually begin with the Psalm for the day’s date. There in Psalm 27, I had written in the margin, sometime in the past, these words: “The aborted babies” next to these verses:
“Though my father and mother forsake me, the LORD will receive me. Teach me your way, O LORD; lead me in a straight path because of my oppressors. Do not turn me over to the desire of my foes, for false witnesses rise up against me, breathing out violence. I am still confident of this; I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.” Psalm 27:10-14
Our God is not mocked; He is JUST!

  • I am alternately yet simultaneously disgusted, outraged, disappointed, determined by this ruling.

Realizing that these are all misdemeanor charges he faced, what chance is there for justice if even these lesser charges cannot be successfully prosecuted with a proper finding of guilt.

I am so disapppointed, more than anything, in the blinded attitude, the unwillingness to KNOW that is demonstrated by society as a whole. We are too busy trying to earn money for the latest computer game or other nonsense so that we can’t be bothered to see the horror in front of our eyes.

I used to wonder how it was that Hitler was allowed to become the dangerous political force that he obviously was. What were people thinking who had to see evidence of his murderous acts? Sadly (though Tiller is not Hitler, his crimes are just as poisonous) I think we can see a real-time re-enactment of the public mindset and thinking that allowed Hitler’s rise to power. Right here in Mid-America and indeed in the entire United States, much the same thing is going on (i.e. the taking of innocent lives) yet there is no outcry from the majority. Most of the protests I am aware of are protests from others who do not see this conduct as a problem. The problem, in their eyes, is that I will not shut up about my feelings. Its too inconvenient and unpleasant. I’m asked why I wish to take away a woman’s right to control her own body. My question, which is NEVER answered: Why do so many want to and in fact do take away the right of a child, the basic right of life, to live, to try, to fail, to succeed, to laugh, love, experience disappointment, all these things are denied to children who have no voice and it sickens my soul.

in GOD’s EYES the man is GUILTY of the most henius crime of abortion and MURDER of the innocent.

Tiller may have escaped these “misdemeanor” charges, but he’s still guilty of capital crimes. His sentence is awaiting him, when the books will be opened in heaven, and his name won’t be found. He will then receive his eternal sentence; cast into the Lake of Fire, for all eternity. All the blood money in the world ,won’t save him from the appointment he has with God.

  • Please keep up the good work.

Tiller’s still guilty in God’s court!

My Friends, I live in Florida, and we have a case down here, where Belkis Gonzalez, took a live baby, and placed this live baby into a bag, and threw it out. For two years, the pro-choice state aturnie, Rundle, sat on the case, probley hopping it would go away, but due to people putting their faith 2 action, she fainally relized she had to act, because she didn’t want to face outcry from those of us who love life! All though we would have prefered murder charges Gonzalez is charged with practice medence with out a license, and tampering with evidence, which are both fellenies. This is more saver, than what tiller was facing. Dr. Rennelique had his license take away, in feburary.

How how how can those jurors not see that he broke the LAW? This isn’t a debate over Roe V Wade!!!! THIS is about laws that already exist that Tiller broke. Its not rocket science!!!! Shame on those jurors! They now have the blood of babies on their hands too!

What a horrible joke! Judge Owens should have dismissed the case as soon as he knew Disney was only going to put on one witness. Come on! A criminal jury trial with one witness!!!! What a waste of tax payer dollars.

Time heals all wounds and WOUNDS ALL HEELS! Tiller’s day will come soner or later. God is still in control, even if we are discouraged. We must never give up hope.

God’s wrath will come down furiously on all of those who harm children!

Terible times will come upon us. All whom have participated in man’s inhumanity to man will suffer God’s anger. No longer will his loving kindness abide with those who willfully sin and who allow greed to supercede the empathy we are to show one another.
