Morrison Resigns Amid Intense Public Pressure Over Sex/Corruption Scandal

Topeka, KS – Kansas Attorney General Paul Morrison announced his resignation on Friday amid increased public pressure after details surfaced earlier in the week of his illicit affair with a subordinate and alleged attempts to use that relationship to influence abortion investigations. Morrison’s resignation will become effective on January 31, 2008.

“We want to thank our tens of thousands of supporters who responded to our call on Tuesday for e-mails calling for Morrison to step down,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. “We want you to know that your voices added to the mounting public pressure that resulted in Morrison’s resignation. This is the first step in insuring that current criminal cases against abortionist George Tiller and Planned Parenthood will be properly prosecuted without corrupt influences working to subvert justice.”

“Kansans are weary of corruption and the appearance of impropriety over abortion investigations. Gov. Sebelius must understand that any replacement for Morrison simply cannot be another political crony who is beholden to the abortion cartel,” said Newman. “We urge Gov. Sebelius return integrity to the Attorney General’s office by appointing someone who is above reproach and whose pocketbook does not have strings to abortion blood money.”

I’m glad the guy resigned. Now the problem that remains is getting a new attorney general in Kansas that will follow the LAW & doesn’t have any ties to the blood money of Tiller.

  • Praise God!
    What a wonderful Christmas present.
Thank You to the courageous Linda Carter who broke her silence.
I guess there are 10 righteous people in Kansas!

Isn’t Morrison a member of the Catholic church?

This extra-marital affair only goes to show what a hypocrite he is.

Morrison doesn’t deerve to be leader of a Cub Scout pack let alone Attorney General.

What tremendous developments have been happening in Kansas since the prayer events of “A Cry for Justice,” “Pray in May,” and the season of prayer this summer with the 500 plus young adults! The tenacity of the Kansas pro-lifers is bearing fruit! We join all of you at OR, and throughout Kansas, to give thanks to our Sovereign LORD, to Whom all praise is due!

A blessed Christmas to you all! May 2008 bring many victories on behalf of the babies and the mommies, so precious to our LORD. May the hearts of the fathers turn; may they become the protector/providers of their families!

It doesn’t matter what church or Christian community Morrison is apart of what matters is that he is out of office and that now we should all pray for him, so that he may have a change of heart and come to the right side of this struggle against this culture of death that surrounds us. Instead of being indifferent we should pray for those who would do such things to our little ones so that they may see the error of there ways, but that much is up to God, not ourselves. Its like Mother Teresa said, “we can do no great things only small things with great love.”
