Funeral For Baby Shanice To Be Held 26 Months After Being Left On Abortion Clinic Roof To Die

NOTE: Funeral arrangements for Baby Shanice have been changed. Her funeral will be held on Oct. 14 at the Worldwide Christian Center, 450 Powerline Rd., Pompano Beach, at 10 a.m. Oct. 14. Burial follows at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 1500 State Road 7, Fort Lauderdale.

Ft. Lauderdale, FL – A funeral will be held for Baby Shanice Denise Osbourne in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, next week, over 26 months after she was born alive during an abortion, shoved into a biohazard bag, and tossed on the roof of a Hialeah abortion mill to die.

Clinic owner Belkis Gonzales, a woman with no medical background, delivered the African-American baby girl after the mother reported to the abortion clinic complaining of discomfort. She had started the process of abortion the previous day. Abortionist Pierre Renelique was contacted when the patient reported to the clinic but never answered his page.

According a police affidavit, the mother “observed the baby moving and gasping for air for approximately five (5) minutes. The staff began screaming that the baby was alive; at which time, Ms. Belkis Gonzalez cut the umbilical cord, threw it into a red bag with black printing. Ms. Gonzalez then swept the baby, with her hands, into the same red bag along with the gauze used during the procedure.”

The bag containing Shanice was tossed onto the roof of the abortion clinic to conceal her body from police. A clinic worker informed police of the incident and Shanice’s body was recovered.

An autopsy indicated that the baby’s lungs contained gas bubbles and floated, proving that Shanice was alive and breathing at birth.

Gonzales is the subject of a current grand jury investigation, which will likely result in her being charged in the Baby Shanice’s death. The abortion clinic where Shanice died has since closed.

The funeral will be held on October 14, 2008, at 11 AM at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 1500 S. State Road 7, in Ft. Lauderdale. The ceremony will be officiated by Rev. O’Neal Dozier. Former presidential candidate Dr. Alan Keyes will deliver the eulogy. The public is encouraged to attend.

“We rejoice that Baby Shanice will finally be laid to rest with the dignity and love she was denied in her short life, and we pray her killers will soon be brought to justice,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. Operation Rescue helped break the story of Shanice’s death, published documentation of the incident, and helped pressure the authorities to act.

“We also pray that the African-American community will rise up and say, ‘Enough!’ to the exploitation and decimation of their community by predatory abortionists such as Gonzalez and Renelique,” said Newman.

    Its good to finally give some dignity to this little girl. I cannot even begin to imagine the agony she felt while suffocating in a plastic bag in the intense summer heat…why why why WHY do we do this to our own babies? what is wrong with us????? We are a nation of cruel people. God help us!

    This mother’s life has been destroyed. She will forever bare emotional scars.

    We all need to get on our knees and pray that John McCain is elected. Obama will do nothing to end this evil.

    What about the baby at tiller’s “clinic?” Any charges against what’s her name?

    When we deny God and His laws, we become unaware of the dignity of His creation. We are “Trousered Apes.”

    On a Distant Shore

    A mother lays her children against her breast,
    She has no home for their heads to rest;
    She can only dream to have the best
    On a far off distant shore.

    On a distant shore some try to flee
    From a cruel dictator’s captivity;
    They long someday to be free
    On a far off distant shore.

    In another land many find their fate,
    As they bow their heads in humble faith;
    To pray they do not hesitate
    And die on a distant shore.

    On a distant shore a battle cry;
    So some might live, some must die;
    On a battlefield a loved one lies
    On a far off distant shore.

    On our own shore a mother waits,
    With her children for her mate;
    Gone off to war with the faith
    He’ll return from the distant shore.

    On the sands beyond where we see,
    Our men will fight to set some free;
    They contend for another’s liberty
    On a far off distant shore.

    They go without a second thought,
    To defend the lives of who have naught;
    Their deaths the price freedom bought
    To save those on a distant shore.

    On a cold street a beggar pleads,
    For someone’s kind hospitality;
    No one has time to fulfill his need,
    On a not so distant shore.

    A man with children at home unfed;
    He has no want to buy them bread;
    He would rather have his drugs instead,
    On our nation’s shore.

    A man self-indulgent with money and fame;
    Busy racing his foolish game,
    And a mistress from another name,
    On our nation’s shore.

    His wife at home lonely and lost;
    For his sin she will pay the cost;
    Her love at the roadside tossed,
    On our nation’s shore.

    A father to a mother pleads,
    To save their child, she does not “need”;
    The unborn child has not one liberty,
    On our nation’s shore.

    This choice is for her own “sanity,”
    There fore this so called unplanned pregnancy,
    Is discarded into a garbage heap
    On our nation’s shore.

    We parade our sins and our lusts,
    And still proclaim “In God We Trust,”
    As we trample God’s word in the dust
    Of our nation’s shore.

    Buzzards circle round, in the sky,
    Waiting patiently for us all to die,
    By our own hands. But why,
    On our nation’s shore?

    If this world was filled with peace,
    What a wonderful place to be;
    We would not look to God and plead;
    Deliver us to Your shore.

    We make our laws and our creeds;
    Our land ruled with hypocrisy;
    I pray Dear God help us please!
    Rapture us to Your Shore!

    Soon we’ll hear a trumpet sound
    That bids those in Christ, gather round,
    And raise the Saints that lie in the ground;
    He’ll gather us on the shore.

    Those that feared famine and war,
    Will feel heartache and pain no more;
    We will reign with Jesus Christ our Lord,
    On that not so distant shore.

    Only then will we find rest,
    And have true peace and happiness;
    Those who have suffered will be blessed,
    On our Savior’s shore.

    We’ll bow down on bended knee,
    Tears and suffering will no longer be,
    As we worship by the crystal sea,
    On Heaven’s glorious shore.

    I appreciate your website and what you stand for, you will be blessed for your work. This story is perhaps the worst thing I have ever heard. If I hadn’t been directed to you site, I wouldn’t have known about this. It certainly wasn’t in the news papers or on TV here in Arkansas!! GOD BLESS OPERATION RESCUE!!!

  7. RJ Sandefur Says:

    My name is RJ, and I was born in 1979. When I was born though, I waid One pound, and five ounce, and the doctors only gave me a two percent chance of sirvivel. Three weeks after my birth, my parents were told that I’d be blind, and that I probley would not be able to live a normal life. From what I’ve been told, My parents were given a choice after I was born. Whether to pull the plug, and allow me to die, or whether to try and save me, and My mother is said to have told the docter, “God will take care of this child,” And he has! I am almost Thirty years old, and I am a preacher of the gospel. When I first heard about this story, it was on Faith 2 Action. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again.We must all do all we can in order to inshure that what happened to Baby Shanice, will never be permitted to happen to another child in the State of Florida, or anywhere in the Nation ever Again! However, We must remember Whose we are. I Ask all of us to pray for Belkis Gonzales, that she would come to the knolege, that what she did was sinfull, and that if she’d repent of her sin, that the Lord will forgive her sin, and use her for his own purpose. Finally, we need to also Pray for Baby Shanice’s mother. This is not the time to Judge her, nor to cast stone’s. I’m shure she is still hurting after what has taken place… So she needs our prayer’s as well. Sencerly, RJ
