Eyewitness Confession: Live Infant Stabbed To Death By Tiller Abortionist Shelley Sella

Operation Rescue calls for immediate suspension of Sella’s medical license and for an emergency closure of Tiller’s late-term abortion mill in light of this shocking audio-taped admission.

Wichita, KS – A murder investigation has been opened involving Shelley Sella, a California abortionist employed by George Tiller, who is reported to have intentionally stabbed to death an infant born alive during an abortion at Tiller’s Women’s Health Care Services abortion clinic in Wichita, Kansas.

Listen to the interview excerpt (1 min. 38 sec.)

On the advice of an attorney, Operation Rescue reported the incident to the Wichita Police Department after a former Tiller employee, Tina David, told Troy Newman and Cheryl Sullenger of the stabbing in April. It is believed that the alleged infanticide took place sometime in the past two years.

In addition, the incident has been reported to the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts, which has confirmed that the case has been assigned to an investigator.

Ms. David is a Licensed Practical Nurse, and was the only licensed medical person in Tiller’s employment at that time, except for his three out-of-state abortionists, who work at WHCS on a three-week rotating schedule.

Abortionist Shelley Sella is a “circuit rider” who splits her time between Tiller’s Wichita clinic, a California Planned Parenthood clinic, and other, smaller abortion mills.

“Ms. David gave us a very specific eye-witness account about the incident,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. “We were told that the baby was 35 weeks gestation at the time of the abortion. The baby came out and was moving. Sella looked up at Ms. David, then picked up a utensil and stabbed the baby in the left ribcage, twisting the utensil until the baby quit moving. At 35 weeks, there is no doubt about viability. This is murder in anybody’s book.”

Ms. David could not explain why the baby was born alive since abortions that late in the pregnancy usually begin with a fatal injection into the baby’s heart. However, Operation Rescue has been told by former abortion patients that sometimes the first injection is not always successful. (Read how these abortions are done.)

In fact, Sella was involved in the abortion of Michelle Armesto-Berge, who testified before a Kansas legislative committee last September of her horrific late-term abortion experience at WHCS. According to her medical records, which she released to Operation Rescue, Armesto-Berge received the digoxin injection at the beginning of her abortion process, and was forced to receive a second injection by Sella when it was discoverd that her baby was still alive the following day.

“The digoxin injection into the baby’s heart is a difficult and risky procedure,” said Newman. “Sella doesn’t appear to be very good at it.”

Ms. David also told Operation Rescue that on four occasions of which she was aware, women received the digoxin injection into their babies’ hearts, and were sent home to their primary physician for “delivery of the stillborn.”

“This practice has extreme risks, because the women, who come from all over the Western Hemisphere, could go into labor or experience a number of other dangerous complications before they are able to get to their own doctors,” said Newman. “It is shocking that this is allowed.”

“We understand there are unique challenges to getting charges filed in this case since the body would have been cremated at Tiller’s on-site crematorium. Without a body, any murder case becomes more difficult,” said Newman. “However, because of the brutality of this murder and the gravity of this charge, we are compelled to demand that Tiller’s clinic be closed by the State until a full inspection and investigation can take place, and that the medical licenses of Sella and her boss, Tiller, be immediately suspended.”

“We also understand that because Ms. David’s employment at WHCS was terminated, that damages her credibility,” Newman continued. “But we have every reason to believe that the story she told us was true. We have been able to confirm many of the other things she told us. Ms. David came forward because she was troubled by what went on at the abortion clinic, and was seeking peace. We pray she finds it. ”

In March, 2008, Students for Life in America released an undercover video where Tiller told them that if a baby is born alive during an abortion, “It’s just sloppy technique. It is just technique that is reprehensible.” He added, “The guy that did that ought to have his head beat up.”

  • And Obama voted twice, as a state senator, against the “Infants Born Alive Protection Act.” Under his administration, murders like this could be legal. It’s simply stunning that Obama’s voting record in this regard has yet to be raised as an issue by the media.

  • Segun Coker, MD

I certainly hope that they can make this stick. This “woman” has no business breathing free air, much less being a doctor.

This is an example of what led me to become pro-life years ago. Prayers for the soul of the misguided woman who decided to terminate her pregnancy, and I take comfort that this innocent child is now with Christ.

But, I also pray that “Dr.” Tiller and his whole depraved staff get their comeuppance in this life (though I know they will in the next).

  • Janet DiDomenico

Is it possible to be shocked but not surprized, both at the same time? Well, I am. I believe that any person
who would engage in this kind of procedure, where they would see pieces of tiny arms and legs, would also
be quite able to murder, in general, I mean. Calling this Sella woman despicable doesn’t quite get it; she, along with Tiller, are murderers, plain and simple. They have
zero regard for human life. I wouldn’t want to sleep in the same house if I knew either of these people were
present. Barack Hussein Obama actually voted FOR THIS. He thinks a baby is nothing more than a punishment for making a mistake. The only mistake here would be electing Obama into the White House.
I am sick and tired (more sick) of murder being viewed
as “just another form of birth control”. If thats true,
why are people who murder their children behind bars?
Let them out – they were just getting rid of one of their
“mistakes”. This article should be published on every
single square foot of space in America; Sella should be
followed from clinic to clinic and people should be made
aware before they enter those clinics, what she is
    capable of. I’m heartsick.

  • Chris-not to talk politics, but keep your eyes on some up-coming talks. McCain is engaging Obama in 3 debates over the Infants Born Alive Act-Obama certainly cannot deny his voting record. BTW- check out http://www.jill stanek.com. She mentions how for this particular reason- infants being born alive, now have a “clean room” in which to die. And birth certificates, burial gowns, etc….are provided by these caring docs. No more putting HIS precious children in laundry rooms to expire.. As a nurse for over 20 yrs- I am still sickened by the EVIL that pervades our society. Docs take an oath to “First, do no harm”. This is a horrible ,tragic story…but it reminds us to “keep fighting the good fight” and to keep praying. And to also not forget Ms. Davis’s role in this. As a nurse, she could very well lose her license to practice- it took a great deal of courage for her to step up,as she did. Troy & Cheryl- thanks for exposing this story. We will be looking for a follow -up ,where Sella is sentenced to a life time prison sentence!

  • Mike

Obviously, this Tina Davis has a guilty conscience about her role in this, and possible many more atrocities that have occurred at this hell hole of Tiller’s.

What I’m particularly interested in, is what exactly was the cause of her leaving her employment in the first place. Did she “see too much” or was there some other set of circumstances she may have been party to, which FINALLY ate away at her?

Davis could NO DOUBT blow the entire Tiller operation WIDE OPEN and break the code of silence she was part of for so long.

Pray that she has the strength to reveal ALL she knows and shut down Tiller and his entire entourage of killers.
She has come this far, and with the grace of God can be the needed link for putting an end to WHCS once and for all.

As for Sella…she is yet one more example of Satan incarnate.

Abortionists are hired killers: they have no conscience!

Hit them where it hurts, their pocketbook!

  • Sarah

How can you feel your child grow under your heart for 35 weeks and then turn around and surrender that child to a clinic’s on duty executioner? How can you just turn your heart away from your child like that? I’m a mom…i just can’t understand it. I try to, but I can’t. I would sacrifice all my earthly possessions, and my health, and my LIFE for my child. I still pray for Tiller, and Sella too. God can harden Pharoah’s heart or soften it. If God could redeem Paul who killed Christians, God can redeem even Tiller!

  • Chris

She still seems a little hardend when describing what took place. I think oneday it will hit her as it will the others and it will be devestating. I know she will need lots of prayers. I am curious why she’s had a change of heart and hope to hear more about this story i.e. charges being filed, etc. What can we do? Who should we call?

  • J Jackson

Given the history of corruption and influence peddling in the State of Kansas by the Kansas Abortion Industry, would it not be prudent to forward your report to additional law enforcement agencies. I am thinking of the Kansas State Police, The Kansas Bureau of Investigation and the Office of the Attorney General of Kansas.
Luhra Tivis made similar accusations 20 years ago which law enforcement ignored though she did give very comopelling testimony at the Kansas Legislature. By making an official report to multiple agencies it might create some pressure for an honest investigation. I would forward the information to the Legislature as well along with copies of official reports made to the different law enforcement agencies. Perhaps knowlege of the report at the Legislature might provide some accountability to the process of investigation in order to mitigate the influence of corruption. As citizens, I believe that you have the right to report to multiple agencies.

The tragedy of the Kansas abortion continues- viable infants aborted at anytime for any reason-

  • I thank God for the faithful Christians who took the time to get to know Tina Davis. As Mike said, let’s pray for Tina to be willing to tell ALL THAT she knows in order to expose the unfruitful deeds of darkness. And let’s pray that because of her willingness to tell the truth, thousands of other clinic workers & abortionists will come forward to confess what they have seen & what they have done to the little ones who never did anyone any harm.

Since the very first family original sin has caused bloodshed. Pray with me that Tina & Shella & Tiller & every mother who has murdered & every mother who is intending to murder a little baby be filled with an agony of soul, a siren blast of their conscience & a holy terror that brings them to a fear of the Lord & a genuine repentant faith in the Savior.

If this is true, then Tiller’s clinic should be closed immediately. This accounts to nothing less than murder.

It seems that the U. K. is following the U. S. as abortions are at an all time high, with more 14Yr old girls having abortions than ever before. EDUCATION EDUCATION EDUCATION is what needs to be addressed.

Its about time was started a similar organisation here in the U. K. to lobby the “Powers That Be” into changing their policies which are failing to recognise the value of life.

  • John Francis Borra

Like, what’s news about this? What she did is just a really late abortion. Call it euthanasia. Whatever. It’s all murder.

    Why not call it “obamation”?

  • Life Wonker

Obamation!!! Wow that’s funny!!! Where did you come up with that?!

  • Kathy

Abortion is murder, and abortionists are murderers. Any woman who has ever had an abortion is indeed a murderer.

  • John Francis Borra

    Life Wonker–

Obamation: named after its most virulent supporter in the US Senate.

There’s gotta be a very special place in Hell reserved for people like him who claim to be Christian. (And we thought Bill Clinton was a master of BS!)

  • Chris

I do not believe calling a woman who had an abortion a murderer is helpful at all. Many women buy into the lies thinking it is ok to do this. Our society has accepted this as way to fix a “problem.” We want women who’ve had abortions to talk about it and feel safe enough to come forward without all the name calling.

  • If we continue to play into the deception that when a person murders her baby it was because she ‘thought it was okay’ we do not speak biblically, therefore we do not speak the TRUTH according to God. It is important as Christians to be straight-forward in our conversations with aborting & post-abortive moms in the same way that we would speak plainly to someone who is planning on raping a toddler. Truth is important. Let’s stop making excuses & use the moral law of God, which the Bible clearly states is written on the human heart, to forbid the murder of an innocent person. The pre or post-abortive mom’s conscience is an ally which helps her see her guilty sin. This is the way of the gospel. It is not right or true to give her excuses for sin rather to insist, as the Lord, in
    Romans 1:18-20 declares:
“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse …”

Romans 2:15 explains that “the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness” so that mothers DO know that it is the sin of murder when they slay their infants through all nine months of pregnancy.

The only hope for sinners like us is to genuinely repent (confess & forsake our sin) & trust in the sinless sacrifice, Jesus Christ, to forgive us & make us new by His blood.

  • Sarah

I agree with Chris. I have several friends who had abortions (though none at 7 months) and they absolutely didn’t want their abortions but boyfriends/parents etc…strong-armed them into it. Sometimes women feel they have NO SUPPORT and no alternative than to cave in to other’s wishes and abort. Thats why I get angry whenever I hear abortion is about a “woman’s right to choose” its such a LIE!!!!! also when my friends had abortions, there were pro-lifers outside picketing. Instead of offering support to these desperate women, they called these women baby-killers and whores. What good does it do to be hateful to aborting women? their babies are still dead and now these women are extremely distrustful of pro-life people. we need to reach out in love, though I understand how upsetting it is to us all that babies are dying every day through abortion. Only love will save lives! Women will not come to us before or after abortion if we call them names and judge them. the women are misled and afraid and believe me, they feel the guilt of their abortions. Its the DOCS who are the true murderers since they knew the truth and yet went ahead and committed these abortions. and all for the love of money.

  • Chris

Name calling only hurts the pro-life movement and am so sorry your friends went through all of that. I have to ask what would Christ do if He were standing outside an abortion clinic? Would He call women whores and murderers? Yes, abortion is murder which not only destroys the life of a baby but it also destroys a part of the mother and father. Sarah’s friends are probably suffering from Post Abortion Syndrome and are living a life of quiet desperation because they are too afraid to ask for help. I am not making excuses for women like us. We bought into a lie which we have to live with for the rest of our lives.

  • Pro-Informed

    Abortionists are prenatal hitmen;

It comes as no shock whatsoever that when one of them fails to complete the killing moments earlier when the baby is still inside the mother’s body, that they will inflict brutal violence on the baby outside the mother’s body.

It is the civic duty of every voting citizen to learn the truth about abortion (to be well-informed, pro-informed) and then to demand that the citizens have their RIGHT TO CHOOSE the legal status of abortion returned to them.

  • Bob in Syracuse

It is so good to read your thoughts about this ugly thug Tiller & friends. I say prayers everyday for the conversion of Tiller. Jesus has a plan. I just wish He’d move up the schedule for implementation. I also write this website on ALL outgoing mail http://www.dr-tiller.com. Hey, you never know………

  • We have been using the above website-http://www.dr-tiller.com for a few years now. So many people want to know vital questions ,such as: How does Tiller kill the babies? How does he perform abortions? How about the abortion “clinic”? How about the staff? How about the crematorium? It is truly a great site for those wanting to know the truth. It is graphic… and has Tiller’s mug on it…..so – fair warning! I think his mug is the worst part of the whole site.
Also, are some of John Borra’s great cartoons. Pro-life, very cutting edge. Good stuff!
And yes, we have to say prayers for Tiller, no matter what. Jesus tells us to pray for our enemies. Abortionists do convert. I certainly hope so- for the babies, the moms, and his immortal soul!

  • Robyn O

Yes, most of us who have aborted a child know we have committed murder. But Jesus has forgiven us. We cannot undo what we have done, but Jesus makes all things new, in His own time.
I was forced into aborting my child. I was under enormous pressure, I could not think clearly. I made the biggest mistake of my life in ending my child’s life inutero.
This cannot be reversed. The child I lost, yes, the child I killed, is with God. We have all made mistakes and a sin is a sin is a sin, no matter what it is.
Have you told a lie, it is sin, have you hated someone, it is sin, have you cheated on your husband/wife, it is sin, have you stolen anything, it is sin.
Sin is sin, but God is greater than sin. God is greater than my sin of killing my child. Praise Him and praise His merciful treatment of me.
May we not throw the stones at the mothers who have made a mistake.
I would do anything, everything, to bring back the child I threw away. That child would have turned 13 years old this year. I never even knew their name.

  • Robyn-I know that many who know me are going to say that I am “selling out”. Oh, well. I can feel the pain in your letter. You ,and many post-abortive women above make a lot of sense. I have been actively pro-life for over 20 years. I used to believe that ALWAYS -you were the murderer, NEVER the victim- it was YOU who chose to kill her baby. God has softened my heart, and for that, I am very grateful. We ALL have made mistakes, we all sin- some just greater and more so than others. I have talked to many young women who felt that they didn’t have a choice, acted in haste, and regretted this decision forever. And the boyfriends ,and the mothers who are supposed to be so loving and encouraging- are only loving the abortion. I know some women feel forced and submit. Robyn- there is help available. I have a great friend in “Silent No More” but first you have to heal yourself- make things right with God. Repentance is key. I am going to continue pro-life activities, going on Tours, side-walk counseling as much as I can, etc. but with a different heart. I appreciate you women who show repentance- that is a first step in healing. Robyn, and others- God is truly Merciful! And for those who call you names- please forgive them- they are trying hard to save your baby, and yes, they often forget the mother. As Fr. Pavone says,” We have to love them both”. I have been outside the abortion mill, trying to talk to Moms, but never have I called you a name. I am on that” other side” but you have helped me understand “your side”. Robyn- it’s never too late to name your baby- she’s real- she deserves a name. Remember “Rachel’s Vineyard” and “Silent No More”- they do great works. From one sinner to another!

  • heather

Robyn, I feel for you. God bless. That guilt must be a living hell!

  • Mary

Just what in heaven’s name is going on in Kansas??? Then again, maybe all states have these problems — but only in Kansas has the abortion industry begun to be exposed for what it truly is–

  • gabrielle-a murderer

to reply to chris on june 28. i am a christian. i bible beating holy roller–hallelujah!!!! i wasn’t a little over six years ago. i had an abortion about 7 years ago. it would still haunt me as bad had i not got my life right with jesus christ, including admitting i was the murderer of my unborn child. it is indeed something spiritual, something un-understood by someone who thinks all labels are evil. i recognized my sin, and my state of being. the words “the truth shall set you free” come to my mind. when we can admit the wrong,we can change…thank god, because it has to start somewhere. there is forgiveness in jesus christ and i have a testimony to share with others who have fallen. thank God for his forgiveness and grace. it is now why i live…to share this message.

  • Eric

We have been given the opportunity by God to choose how we live our life. There will be consequences for our decisions, either good or bad. Life starts when a man and woman have sexual relations. God made us this way. Like most animals, we reproduce this way. Society has scewed this idea, and now sex is no big deal. God’s word clearly talks about his feelings on premarital sex. If you decide to do this, you are risking the chance you may become pregnant. If this happens, you need to be prepared to take care of the child you decided to make. Whatever happend to adoption? Even if you aren’t Chirstian, you would have to agree murder is wrong. If it wasn’t then why can’t we murder our mentally and phycially disabled or the elderly? They can be a burdon to us just like an unplanned baby, but we don’t kill them, because it’s wrong!

It’s a simple decision that can start when one is just a child. You choose to follow and respect God’s word. Whatever happens in your life you deal with it according to God’s way. I pray for those that get a bad hand in life, and we need more people to help those that need it. Whatever you may go through, God can help you through it if only you are willing to listen to him.

  • crusader

    Robyn O-

You did not “make a mistake” You were a willing accomplice to murder. We have to stop allowing the women who sacrifice their children get off with a slap on the wrist. A mistake is something you do accidently or do not intending the outcome. Abortion is a willful, premeditated act. I’m happy that you have seen the error and have repented. But let’s call a spade a spade. This goes for other women who try to excuse themselves from culpability in this henious act.

  • Lisa

My sister-in-law aborted her baby 16 years ago and STILL hasn’t gotten over it. I am convinced that her many years of self-hatred and depression are due to her abortion. Unfortunately, she’s not willing to let anyone help her, and so, we are all pretty much waiting for the inevitable mental, emotional, psychological and physical implosion that has been building for the past 16 years to play itself out. Maybe then, after she is completely exhausted, we can get her some help.

    In reply to Kathy:

You wrote: “Abortion is murder, and abortionists are murderers. Any woman who has ever had an abortion is indeed a murderer.”

    Please see the linK below:

Abortion begins with an attitude. That attitude and world view involves putting yourself before anyone else. It is a reckless abandonment of everything that is sacred and good. It is a direct turning away from God and worshipping the god of self. The world will support you in this view. It is the view of mainstream society. We worship our own image and not the One who made us. Once you know the One who made you, you no longer worship yourself and you cease the murder of others. Abortion stops in the heart of every new believer when Jesus takes His rightful place on the throne of your life. Thankfully, due to His common grace, many people who don’t yet believe find abortion to be the holocaust it is. A society that kills its own cannot survive.

  • Fran

KO says to see her link. The following is an excerpt:

“International law prohibits bans on abortion because such restrictions deny women their basic rights to life and health. Nicaragua’s abortion ban is an affront to international standards – and Nicaragua’s women.” José Miguel Vivanco, Americas director at Human Rights Watch

The wording is so ironic. “deny…their basic rights to life and health”. Isn’t that the exact right a baby is denied by abortion? Who decided that one life is more important than the other? Reminds me of the attitude of slave traders.

  • I’d not hold up too much hope. Trying to get a conviction of an abortionist in Kansas is like getting a jury of cats to convict Sylvester of killing Tweetie.

  • KO

You asked: “Who decided that one life is more important than the other?”

Answer: Only about 90% of Americans who believe that abortion should be allowed in order to save the life of the mother.

Besides, slave traders had an evil motive: greed.

My motive is based on compassion: to save the life of the mother. If the baby or fetus dies in the process, it is horribly tragic, but I don’t think it is fair to call it murder in that circumstance.

By the way, I’m actually a guy.

  • pat

I don’t see why people refer to Nicaragua as a case of the international community holding out rights to abortion. Check some countries, Brazil, Ireland and other countries, illegal, other countries, severe restrictions, such as Poland. Middle East no. Hmong community in Southeast Asia, no to abortions. We the USA are horrid with abortion rights. Time to turn down such vain college professor type rhetoric about it being an international right. Our country does a real evil and even countries like Holland require a five day wait.

  • A.

To all who are saying that this should be illegal because it goes against what your religion says: Tough. We have statutes that prevent laws being created via religious views, because your religion is not the ONLY religion, and we cannot condemn based on what your religion states. I am not a Christian, why should I be forced to follow the morality of one? And don’t get me wrong, I am not saying that abortion is right, however…these laws have no place being put into legislation. The Constitution guarantees freedom of expression and religion for a reason.
