Operation Rescue® is the leading pro-life Christian activist organization in the nation. Operation Rescue® recently made headlines when it bought and closed an abortion clinic in Wichita, Kansas and has become the voice of the pro-life activist movement in America. Its activities are on the cutting edge of the abortion issue, taking direct action to restore legal personhood to the pre-born and stop abortion in obedience to biblical mandates.

Troy Newman, President

Troy Newman has been involved in pro-life activism since 1991. Through innovative new tactics, Newman helped close over a dozen abortion clinics and saw over 40 abortionists stop killing in San Diego County, California, alone. In 1998, Newman became the leader of Operation Rescue, which he rebuilt into a nationally active organization in just a few years. Newman moved his ministry offices to Wichita, Kansas in 2002, where he worked to expose abortion abuses at George Tiller’s Women’s Health Care Services. Since relocating to Kansas, Newman’s work has aided in the closure of several abortion clinics, including Central Women’s Services, an abortion mill that was closed upon the purchase of the clinic’s building by Operation Rescue. The renovated structure now serves as Operation Rescue’s National Headquarters and features a memorial to the pre-born. Newman’s work has been effective at exposing abortion industry abuses all over the nation and bringing illegal abortionists to justice. Newman is a published author whose works include the book Their Blood Cries Out! He and his wife, Mellissa, have been married 19 years. They home school their five children from their beautiful farm in rural Kansas.

Cheryl Sullenger, Senior Policy Advisor

Cheryl Sullenger has been involved in the pro-life movement since 1984. She founded and directed the California Life Coalition in San Diego and worked with Troy Newman and Operation Rescue to help close over a dozen abortion clinics and “retire” over 40 abortionists. Her sidewalk counseling ministry has saved over 2,500 lives. In 2003, Sullenger relocated to Wichita, Kansas, where she serves as Senior Policy Advisor to Operation Rescue. Sullenger is an accomplished writer and published editoralist who co-authored Their Blood Cries Out! with Newman, and has also written a number of other educational publications. Sullenger conducts extensive research on abortion industry abuses and has exposed those abuses on the Internet and through the media. Sullenger also has filed numerous complaints against abortionists across the nation, which have resulted in investigations, charges, and convictions. It was her complaint that prompted the Kansas Board of Healing Arts to issue an 11 count petition of wrongdoing against Tiller just months before his death that would have soon resulted in disciplinary action. Her complaints have also prompted investigations of late-term abortionist LeRoy Carhart, and an Iowa Planned Parenthood organization for their dubious remote-controlled abortion pill distribution scheme, known as telemed abortions. She and her husband, Randy, have been married for 31 years, have two children, and four grandchildren.
