Wichita, KS — Operation Rescue’s A cry for justice kicked off this afternoon with a press conference and outreach at George Tiller’s Wichita abortion clinic, Women’s Health Care Services.
Press Conference at Tiller’s Mill

Around 30 pro-life supporters gathered at the nation’s most infamous abortion clinic for a press conference calling for the reinstatement of 30 criminal charges against George Tiller.
Rev. Pat Mahoney of the Christian Defense Coalition and Dr. Gary Cass of the Center for Reclaiming America told reporters that they would seek a federal investigation to find out why District Attorney Nola Foulston and Kansas Attorney General Paul Morrison are not enforcing the law by prosecuting Tiller for illegal late-term abortions.
Also at the clinic were a group of about 25 pro-abortionists who sporadically chanted during the press conference, but were confined to the opposite side of the driveway entrance by orange mesh fencing.
Christians continued arriving in Wichita thoughout the day, with more expected over the weekend. “We are expecting a big snow storm, so that will very likely keep many people home,” said OR Outreach Coordinator Cheryl Sullenger. “But this isn’t really about numbers.”
Courthouse Picket

About 15 members of the Cry For Justice group then picketed in front of the County Courthouse with signs that read “Foulston, Enforce The Law.” The group chanted, “Nola Foulston — Justice Now!” as they stood under the window to her second floor office.
The group then went up to Foulston’s office and requested a meeting with her. They were told by Ronald R. Davenport, Chief Administrative Investigator with the DA’s office, to put their request in writing.
The following statement was faxed over to Foulston’s office later that afternoon:

Dear Ms. Foulston:
We are deeply concerned that there may be an intentional effort underway on the part of the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s office and the Kansas Attorney General’s office to deny due process in the matter of criminal charges against George R. Tiller for illegal late-term abortions.
We are asking you to read the complaint, then reinstate the 30 misdemeanor charges that were lawfully filed by Attorney General Phill Kline on December 21, 2006. We understand that two judges have already determined that there is probable cause of believe that crimes have been committed. These charges need to be heard in a court of law.
We are requesting a meeting with you on Monday, January 22, 2007, at 11:00 AM to discuss this matter.
We hope that progress is being made toward properly enforcing the laws of the State of Kansas. In the case that we determine that progress is insufficient, we will be forced to request a Federal Investigation in order to determine why the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s office and the Kansas Attorney General’s office will not enforce the law. We hope it does not come to that.
You may contact Rev. Pat Mahoney at 540-538-4741, if you need to communicate with our group.
Sincerely,
Rev. Pat Mahoney

Evening Convocation
The day’s events were capped off by an Opening Convocation at Heartland Community Church where a video montage of clips from the O’Reilly Factor were shown. O’Reilly has broadcast several segments that have been highly critical of Tiller’s late-term abortion business. Rev. Pat Mahoney encouraged the assembly with an energetic talk reflecting on the work that God began in 1991 during the Summer of Mercy, and is continuing today in Wichita.
