Wichita, KS — Operation Rescue staff members gathered today outside the Federal Courthouse in Wichita, KS, to launch their “Year of Justice” campaign. Undaunted by freezing rain, the group stood with signs and a memorial wreath to mark the beginning of the Sanctity of Human Life Weekend and the 33rd anniversary of Roe v. Wade.
“We chose this weekend to kick off our ‘Year of Justice’ campaign because for 33 years, there has been no justice for the pre-born who have been deprived of life without due process,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. “With God’s grace, we intend to see that change.”
“This year, like never before, we will be seeking justice on behalf of the innocent victims of abortion,” said Newman. “We will seek justice through the courts by supporting pro- life judges who we believe will eventually help overturn Roe and restore the protections of legal personhood to the pre-born.

“We will seek justice through the legislature by supporting legislation that will protect the innocent at the State and Federal levels.
“And we will seek justice for a 19-year old Down Syndrome teenager named Christin Gilbert who died a year ago from complications to a third-trimester abortion procured at George Tiller’s Wichita abortion mill. We are actively involved with a grassroots coalition that will soon present the required signatures to force a Grand Jury investigation into her death and other wrongdoing by Tiller and his cohorts.”
Other Roe v. Wade memorial events planned by Operation Rescue include a neighborhood “Prayer for Justice” tour on Saturday, and a memorial prayer service at George Tiller’s infamous late-term abortion mill at sundown on Sunday, the 33rd anniversary of the Supreme Court decision that decriminalized abortion.
