VICTORY! Waste Disposal Company Quits Carhart Thanks to Action by Operation Rescue’s Supporters

Bethesda, MD – On June 5, 2018, Operation Rescue posted an article concerning a medical waste disposal company that had contracted with Maryland abortion facilities for the disposal of human aborted fetal remains. Supporters were encouraged to contact the disposal company and ask them to end their services to abortion facilities, especially (ACO), a late-term abortion facility owned by LeRoy Carhart in Bethesda, Maryland, which conducts abortions throughout all nine months of pregnancy.

And contact they did!

As a result, within minutes of releasing the article, Operation Rescue was contacted by Trey Krell, General Manager for Biomedical Waste Services, Inc., which had contracted to provide services for ACO.

By early afternoon, Krell had sent OR a copy of a letter dated June 5, 2018, addressed to Carhart’s wife, Mary, notifying ACO that Biomedical Waste Services, Inc. was terminating services effective immediately.

Krell also informed OR that contracts had already been “closed” with other surgical abortion businesses.

“We really appreciate and thank Mr. Krell for doing the right thing by severing business ties with Carhart, ACO, and other abortion businesses,” said Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue. “We especially appreciate all our supporters who took the time to call and e-mail. This is really your victory! Thank you!”

Out of courtesy to Mr. Krell and his company, the original report will be removed from our website at, but it will still be available here for reference purposes.

“We remain watchful and are praying that no other disposal business will contract with Carhart, ACO, or any other abortion facility in Maryland,” said Newman. “But if they do, we know our amazing supporters can once again be counted on to jump into action! We appreciate you all more than you know.”

Take Action: Disposal Company Keeps Carhart’s Late-Term Abortion Clinic & Others Open

UPDATE!!! Biomedical Wast Services has terminated all services to Carhart’s Bethesda abortion business. See update on this victory at this link:

Bethesda, MD – Operation Rescue has learned that a company called Biomedical Waste Services, Inc. is sole provider of medical waste disposal for all thirteen surgical abortion facilities in Maryland. In plain terms, the company provides disposal of aborted baby remains — some as large as 30 weeks or more — for the state’s abortion facilities, including LeRoy Carhart’s late-term abortion facility located in Bethesda, Maryland.

Carhart’s clinic, (ACO), conducts abortions throughout all nine months of pregnancy with the majority of abortions taking place in the late second and third trimesters of pregnancy.

Biomedical Waste Services collects the human remains for incineration.

The disposal of aborted baby remains has long posed a difficult problem for abortion facilities nationwide. Few businesses want to be associated with abortion businesses, and fewer with the disposal of the babies’ heartbreaking broken bodies. In Maryland, other disposal companies have refused to do business with abortion facilities.

Without a contract with a waste disposal company, all of Maryland’s abortion facilities would be in left without a legal means of disposing of the remains of babies they abort.

Very quickly, that would become an untenable situation, especially at Carhart’s ACO facility in Bethesda where the bodies of late-term aborted babies are very large and difficult to store. This could ultimately force the clinics to shut down.

“Biomedical Waste Services is keeping Carhart and a dozen other abortion businesses open while profiting from the grisly practice of child-killing. The service they provide is so critical to the abortion facility’s continued operation that, if not for them, all thirteen abortion facilities would be out of business in Maryland, including Carhart,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. “Because these abortion businesses can’t operate without their services, Biomedical Waste Services are just as responsible for the barbaric killing of innocent, viable babies as they are.”

Biomedical Waste Services is headquartered in Baltimore, but serves the following states: Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania, according to its website.

“This is a large, family-owned waste disposal company that doesn’t need the abortion businesses. The abortion businesses need them,” said Newman. “Their collaboration with the Abortion Cartel, including Carhart’s late-term abortion facility, must be exposed. We hope this will lead the company to end its relationship with all abortion facilities and create a new policy that prevents it from profiting from the barbaric killing of innocent babies in the future.”

In addition to Carhart’s late-term abortion operation in Bethesda, Biomedical Waste Services picks up aborted baby remains from the following abortion facilities:

• Annapolis Health Center Planned Parenthood.
• Baltimore Health Center Planned Parenthood.
• Gynemed Surgical Center, Baltimore.
• Hillcrest Clinic of Baltimore.
• Whole Women’s Health, Baltimore.
• Carafem, Chevy Chase.
• Metropolitan Family Planning Clinic, Baltimore.
• Hagerstown Reproductive Health Services.
• Femi-Care Surgery Center, Owings Mills.
• Potomac Family Planning, Rockville.
• Silver Spring Family Planning (American Women’s Services).
• Metropolitan Family Planning Clinic, Suitland.

There are also eight abortion facilities in Maryland that offer only abortion drugs. Operation Rescue wants to see Biomedical Waste Services end their business relationships with them as well.

“Abortion is bad for business, and we urge Biomedical Waste Services to end its collaboration with all Maryland abortion facilities, which is, in turn, enabling them to end thousands of innocent lives each year,” said Newman.

TAKE ACTION: Contact Biomedical Waste Services, Inc.

Operation Rescue is asking pro-life supporters to contact Biomedical Waste Services, Inc. and ask that they stop doing business with Maryland’s abortion facilities immediately.

What’s Wrong with the Sewer at Planned Parenthood?

By Cheryl Sullenger

Cincinnati, OH — Since October 28, 2016, city sewer vehicles have been seen outside the Planned Parenthood abortion facility in Cincinnati, Ohio.

First, Roto-Rooter was called out, but the problem seemed to be beyond their ability to solve. Next came the city sewer trucks, which put equipment down a manhole across the street from Planned Parenthood.

On November 10, another vehicle from the city sewer department was called out. This time, workers opened a manhole in the sidewalk directly in front of Planned Parenthood, closing the sidewalk.

While we don’t know for sure what the sewer problem is near Planned Parenthood, it is not unusual for abortion facilities to have sewer issues.

Take Kermit Gosnell’s Women’s Medical Society abortion mill that used to operate in West Philadelphia, for example.

During Gosnell’s murder trial, held in the spring of 2013, one of his former employees, Elizabeth Hampton testified under oath about her “cleaning” duties at the notoriously squalid abortion facility.

Her job required her to clean the large bottles on the suction machines that would fill with blood and fetal remains during first trimester abortions. She testified that she would dump the entire bloody contents of the bottle into a wash sink located between procedure rooms. She would then turn on the garbage disposal and grind and flush the contents down the drain, even though it was illegal in Pennsylvania to dispose of bloody human remains in this way.

Hampton’s common-law husband, Jimmy Johnson, who worked as Gosnell’s handy-man, also gave hair-raising sworn testimony during that trial.

He said that the toilets at the Women’s Medical Society were constantly backing up because babies were being flushed down them. He told of opening the clean-out drain only to have arms and legs flood out.

But Gosnell’s abortion facility wasn’t alone in that regard.

Operation Rescue purchased an abortion facility in Wichita, Kansas, in 2006, and evicted the National Abortion Federation-approved abortion business. When OR’s Troy Newman took possession of the building, he and a small group of friends went in to take a look around.

The first thing that struck them was the stench. Between the two procedure rooms (eerily like Gosnell’s clinic) was a closet-sized room with a rusty, bloodstained sink where the contents of the suction machine bottles were rinsed and the biohazard bags were kept. Under the dirty sink was an industrial garbage disposal almost identical to the one that was later discovered at Gosnell’s facility. It was clogged with rotting material, presumably from the suction machine. That disposal was the source of the foul odor that permeated the former abortion clinic. Newman discovered in each room, there was a can or bottle of air freshener that revealed the futile attempts by abortion clinic staff to cover up the reek.

“I suspect that if Planned Parenthood is the source of the sewer problems in Cincinnati, we will likely see more city sewer vehicles out there in the future,” said Newman. “In any case, that abortion facility is engaged in the brutal dismemberment killing of innocent babies, and I for one will rejoice in the day that it is shut down for good.”
