Daytona Beach, FL — A defiant abortionist, Randall Whitney, has stopped abortions at Family Planning Center in Daytona Beach, Florida, rather than comply with state regulations governing his abortion business.
This is the eleventh abortion clinic nationwide that has closed or stopped abortions since June. Three have since reopened.
Whitney says his Daytona Beach clinic will remain open for non-abortion services, and that he will continue doing abortions in Orlando.
According to the Daytona Beach News-Journal, Whitney describes himself as a “modified Christian” who is unconcerned about the 1,000-1,500 pre-born babies he kills in Volusia County every year.
“I sleep well,” Whitney said. “I have no concerns about what might have been if a fetus lived.”
Whitney has been accused of illegal late-term abortions beyond the limits set by law by improperly using ultrasound to determine fetal age. Allegedly, Whitney measures the baby’s head from temple to temple, instead of from front to back as is standard, in order to obtain an earlier — but innacurate — gestational age.
Whitney also works part-time for abortionist James Pendergraft, whose medical license was suspended and his five abortion mills closed last month amid allegations of illegal late-term abortions and prescribing medication without proper DEA certification. Pendergraft’s two abortion mills in Orlando remain closed. Pendergraft, was described by Florida officials as “arrogant” with a “blatant disregard for the law.”
“Whitney’s arrogant attitude about complying with regulations is increasingly typical in the abortion industry. This story reaffirms that our country faces a crisis of abortion clinics that operate as if they are above the law at the cost of innocent lives,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. “However, it should be noted that even if regulations are followed — and we know from our experience that they rarely are — abortion is still a horrendous evil in our nation that must be stopped.”
“While we rejoice that Whitney will no longer kill innocent babies in Daytona Beach, he will simply take his business elsewhere where he will continue to kill viable babies and endanger women no matter the law,” said Newman. “This must not be allowed.”
