Clinton’s Mischaracterizations of Abortion Displayed Ignorance, Deception, or Both

third-debate

Las Vegas, NV — Misleading statements about abortion characterized Hillary Clinton’s discussion of the topic during the third presidential debate.

“In displaying her undying loyalty to the Abortion Cartel, Clinton displayed ignorance, deception, or both,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. “Her abortion comments revealed her radical positions on abortion not shared by the majority of the American people, and were at the same time a white-wash of abortion horrors that take place daily around the world.”

Below are a few examples.

Clinton stated:

So many states are putting very stringent regulations on women that block them from exercising that choice to the extent that they are defunding Planned Parenthood, which, of course, provides all kinds of cancer screenings and other benefits for women in our country.

Clinton packs several misleading concepts into this statement. Let’s take them one at a time.

Safety regulations: Abortion licensing laws enacted by the states are for the safety of the woman. For example, in Texas, all but one abortion facility failed the most recent round of health and safety regulations with 13 out of 17 facilities having infection control failures. Ten out of 17 were using contaminated surgical instruments on women. Under Clinton, we can expect to see even worse conditions that endanger the lives and health of women. average-abortion-waitDenying women access to abortions: This is a complete fallacy and one of those “scare tactics” employed by the Abortion Cartel. (Clinton later denounces “scare tactics, but isn’t afraid to use them herself.) Again, Texas is a prime example of how this kind of propaganda has hurt women and is at complete odds with reality. In Whole Women’s Health v. Hellerstedt, the U.S. Supreme Court tossed out regulations that have shut down unsafe abortion facilities. The argument was that when abortion facilities close – even due to dangerous conditions – it places an undue burden on women. However, Operation Rescue conducted a telephone survey of every abortion facility in the nation in November-December, 2016. That survey found that the average wait time for abortions in Texas was only 6.5 days – two days lower than the national average wait time for an abortion. The Texas laws did not “deny access” to women in any way. (Read full report with documentation.)

Defunding Planned Parenthood prevents women from getting cancer screenings: Most women get cancer screenings from their primary care physicians – not Planned Parenthood. The truth is that in 2013, according to the Susan B. Anthony List, Planned Parenthood reported that cancer screenings were down by 17%. Other non-abortion-related services also dropped. Abortion comprises a whopping 94% of Planned Parenthood’s pregnancy services. Planned Parenthood’s business is killing babies through abortion, plain and simple. Yet Clinton proudly proclaimed during the debate, “I will defend Planned Parenthood. I will defend Roe v. Wade, and I will defend women’s rights to make their own health care decisions.”

Clinton stated:

The kinds of cases that fall at the end of pregnancy are often the most heartbreaking, painful decisions for families to make. I have met with women who toward the end of their pregnancy get the worst news one could get, that their health is in jeopardy if they continue to carry to term or that something terrible has happened or just been discovered about the pregnancy.

This statement deceptively leads us to believe that late-term abortions only happen when the women’s live is in danger or when the baby has some sort of horrific deformation. In reality, abortions do in fact take place through the third-trimester of pregnancy for “elective” reasons, or due to the mother’s “mental health,” which can mean anything.

During the Kansas license revocation trial of abortionist Ann Kristin Neuhaus, who conducted shoddy “mental health” exams on eleven under-aged girls who were seeking abortions in their third trimester of pregnancy, it was revealed that she contrived phony mental health diagnoses to justify abortions for non-medical reasons, such as wanting to participate in a rodeo or having an advanced pregnancy that “took the fun out” of playing basketball. Even those who claimed to be “suicidal” — which may not have actually been the case — were never referred to mental health professionals. This was all done with the full knowledge of other abortionists employed at the Wichita abortion facility. Neuhaus’ medical license was subsequently revoked.

Two of those abortionists, Susan Robinson and Shelley Sella, relocated their late-term abortion business to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where they continue to conduct abortions well into the third trimester – many for non-medical reasons. Documents show that abortions have taken place there at 35 weeks (9th month) of pregnancy.

Trump was wrongly lambasted by pro-abortion groups after the debate for being “ignorant” about late-term abortions. Trump stated:

Well, I think it’s terrible. If you go with what Hillary is saying, in the ninth month, you can take the baby and rip the baby out of the womb of the mother just prior to the birth of the baby.

Now, you can say that that’s OK and Hillary can say that that’s OK. But it’s not OK with me, because based on what she’s saying, and based on where she’s going, and where she’s been, you can take the baby and rip the baby out of the womb in the ninth month on the final day. And that’s not acceptable.

Clinton responded by saying, “Well, that is not what happens in these cases. And using that kind of scare rhetoric is just terribly unfortunate.”

However, it is Trump’s statement that is aligned with documented facts. As for “ripping the baby,” that description is essentially true, especially during Dilation and Evacuation dismemberment abortions commonly used from the second trimester on. A video showing an actual D&E abortion can be viewed at this link. That video substantiates with a horrific depiction “ripping the baby out of the womb” if there ever was one. (More facts about late-term abortions.)

Clinton said:

I’ve been to countries where governments either forced women to have abortions, like they used to do in China. . .

Even though China has relaxed its “one child” policy that resulted in rampant forced abortions, especially of girl babies, it now has an equally destructive “two child policy.” Despite Clinton’s mistaken impression that forced abortions no longer occur under the new policy, the barbaric forcing of abortions, particularly late-term abortions, on unwilling women never really stopped and continues today.

The human rights group Women’s Rights Without Frontiers has posted photographic documentation of a 2012 forced abortion where a woman was forcibly dragged from her home and beaten. After her baby was forcibly aborted, the heartless population control workers laid the baby he bed next to the traumatized and grieving woman.

By acting as if atrocities like this do not exist, Clinton only feeds misinformation to the American people that will ensure horrific practices like this will continue.

Clinton’s abortion discussion during the Presidential Debate was an exercise in deception and misinformation that revealed her radical support for abortion – even the appalling late-term abortions that are opposed by 80% of the American people.

On the other hand, Donald Trump promised work to stop late-term abortions and to appoint pro-life justices to the U.S. Supreme Court that will dismantle Roe v. Wade.

“Just considering the candidates stated positions on abortion, Trump is by far the best option for those who value all life,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. “This election is a turning point for America. We cannot afford Clinton’s radical abortion policies will fund, increase, and protect abortion on demand, without limit or restriction. She has promised to appoint abortion-supporting Supreme Court justices. That alone should be enough to convince pro-life supporters to cast their vote for Donald Trump.”

Carhart’s Maryland Late-Term Abortion Business Caught Operating without a Lab Permit

Germantown, MD – An inspection of Germantown Reproductive Health Services (GRHS) conducted last fall discovered that the late-term abortion facility had been operating without a current medical laboratory permit. Late-term abortionist LeRoy Carhart, who is under investigation by the House Select Panel on Infant Lives, commits abortions at GRHS in Germantown, Maryland, throughout all nine months of pregnancy.

Operation Rescue has obtained a copy of the inspection report dated September 25, 2015, that cites GRHS for failing to maintain a current medical laboratory permit. It allowed its permit to expire in August, 2013. The abortion facility was also cited for displaying an expired license.

But perhaps more concerning was a citation for failing to ensure that GRHS employees were proficient in testing women for the Rh blood factor. This had the potential of affecting the health of patients and any future children that they might bear.

According to the American Pregnancy Association, “The Rh factor is a type of protein on the surface of red blood cells. Most people who have the Rh factor are Rh-positive. Those who do not have the Rh factor are Rh-negative.”

The APA goes on to explain that if a woman is Rh-negative and is pregnant with an Rh-positive baby, the mother can develop antibodies that can attack future babies in the womb. Those antibodies can “break down the fetus’s red blood cells and produce anemia (a condition that happens when the blood has a low number of red blood cells). . . It can become severe enough to cause serious illness, brain damage, or even death in the fetus or newborn.”

“Testing for the Rh factor is critically important and must be done accurately. By not ensuring that all employees are proficient in Rh testing, Germantown Reproductive Health Services placed future babies of abortion patients in grave danger. This was reckless and incompetent,” said Newman. “Carhart has been in the abortion business for decades and he should have known better than to operate on an expired lab license. This is just another example of how Carhart acts as if he is above the law with no regard for human life.”

The Select Panel on Infant Lives issued subpoenas to Carhart, GRHS, and seven other businesses and agencies earlier this month seeking documents related to the suspected illegal sale of aborted baby remains and the information related to babies who were born alive as the result of Carhart’s failed abortions.

Carhart was ordered to appear for a deposition before the Panel on June 13, 2016.

Adding to concerns that Carhart and GRHS is endangering the lives and health of patients and their babies is documentation of 14 medical emergencies requiring ambulance transport from GRHS and Carhart’s hometown abortion facility in Bellevue, Nebraska. This includes the death of abortion patient Jennifer Morbelli that resulted from complications to a 33-week abortion administered by Carhart in 2013.

“We are relieved that the Select Panel on Infant Lives is taking a hard look at Carhart and his shoddy abortion practices that have inflicted human misery on so many,” said Newman. “We pray that his two abortion businesses will shut down for good and that the proper authorities will finally put Carhart out of the abortion trade for good.”

Planned Parenthood Board Member Works in Houston District Attorney’s Office that is Investigating Planned Parenthood

Operation Rescue renews its call for a special prosecutor

Houston, TX – It has been learned that a prosecutor in the Harris County District Attorney’s office that is currently investigating a Houston Planned Parenthood abortion clinic for selling aborted baby parts, serves on the Board of Directors for Planned Parenthood.

ReederLauren Reeder is a prosecutor in the Harris County District Attorney’s criminal family law division. She apparently notified District Attorney Devon Anderson of her role with Planned Parenthood last week.

Reeder is listed as a non-compensated “Director” on the 990 Tax Form for 2014 filed by Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast.

Last week, Operation Rescue called on Anderson to appoint a special prosecutor to oversee the criminal investigation into Planned Parenthood.

Anderson told the Houston Chronicle of Reeder, “She will not be involved in any manner in this investigation. If at any time in the future, reliable and credible information is brought to my attention that would question our ability to continue to perform a fair, thorough and independent investigation of this matter due to her board membership, I will revisit the issue of seeking the appointment of an independent prosecutor and act accordingly.”

“Today, we renew our call to Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick and District Attorney Devon Anderson to appoint an independent special prosecutor to investigate Planned Parenthood,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman, who also serves on the Board of the Center for Medical Progress, which released videotaped evidence against Planned Parenthood. “There are too many questions about the independence of the Harris County District Attorney’s office with a Planned Parenthood board member on hand and given the failure of a previous grand jury under Anderson to indict a Houston abortion provider despite ample photographic evidence and eye-witness testimony of late-term babies being born alive and intentionally killed. The public needs to be assured that an impartial investigation will be conducted on the facts and not on a personal political agenda.”

Anderson oversaw a previous abortion-related grand jury investigation of Houston abortionist Douglas Karpen after Operation Rescue released evidence in the form of photos and witness testimony that abortions babies were being born alive during abortions and intentionally killed by twisting their necks.

This case garnered publicity in the wake of the conviction of Pennsylvania abortionist Kermit Gosnell on three counts of First Degree Murder for intentionally killing babies born alive during abortions in a similar fashion.

That grand jury failed to return a “true bill” that would have led to Karpen’s prosecution. Operation Rescue has reason to believe that the grand jury did not have access to all the evidence, and that Anderson’s close personal relationship with Karpen’s attorney, Chip Lewis, may have contributed to the failure of the grand jury to indict Karpen.

Lt. Governor Dan Patrick made the initial request that Anderson’s office open a criminal investigation into the evidence of Planned Parenthood’s aborted baby trafficking activities as the result of videos released last week by the Center for Medical Progress that show Planned Parenthood executives discussing compensation for fetal remains, especially intact cadavers of babies 14-22 weeks gestation for the purpose of creating “humanized” mice in laboratories. There were also recorded discussions related to altering procedures to ensure that intact specimens were available for sale.

It is illegal to sell aborted fetal tissue for profit and illegal to alter an abortion procedure to protect organs for transfer to biotech facilities.

The video also showed the tissue room at the Houston Planned Parenthood facility where technicians sorted through the remains of an 18-22 week dismembered aborted baby looking for marketable body parts.

“Where there’s smoke, there’s fire, and there’s just too way much smoke blowing Planned Parenthood’s way in Harris County for us to feel remotely comfortable that Anderson’s office can conduct a fair and impartial investigation,” said Newman.
