We Are Now In Our New National Headquarters – Inside A Closed Abortion Mill!

Wichita, KS – Operation Rescue has moved into our new national headquarters at 3013 E. Central Avenue in Wichita, Kansas, inside a former abortion clinic that we bought and closed in 2006.

“We are very excited to finally be working from our new headquarters,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. “The transformation from that filthy abortion mill has been amazing. You would hardly know it was the same building. Everything is new and geared toward saving lives. It is an awesome testimony to God’s redemptive powers.”

Operation Rescue purchased the Central Women’s Services abortion building through a third party, then left the building as it was for several months before beginning the process of demolition and renovation so the public and the media could see for themselves the horrific conditions inside the abortion building. Life Dynamics produced a video documenting the filth, pest infestations, out-of-code utilities, and other dangerous conditions. (Click here to view.)

The building features an entirely new floor plan. Everything from the old abortion mill was in such poor condition that nothing was salvageable. Some finishing work remains to be done, including the memorial to the pre-born that is still under construction.

“We had to finish the basic construction on the building before we could begin the memorial,” said Newman. “But that should be completed in the next few months.”

The headquarters’ features include a welcoming reception area, staff offices, a printing center, a beautiful prayer room for private devotions, and a spacious meeting area where press conferences, a memorial on the recent Roe v. Wade anniversary, and other meetings have already taken place.

“We thank God for allowing us the privilege of closing and converting an abortion mill that was open for 23 years into a place where we can work full-time to stop abortion,” said Newman. “We have felt God’s hand leading and providing for this project every step of the way. We know this is where He wants us to be. We especially want to thank our supporters whose generosity and love for the pre-born made this possible. We even had a baby saved here our first week working in our new facilities! We pray this building will continue to bring glory to God.”

KS House Rep. Vaughn Flora Charged in Cockroach Clash

Pro-abortion Democrat faces up to 1 year in jail for battery

Hutchinson, KS — Kansas State Representative Vaughn Flora has been formally charged in Reno County with battery on Operation Rescue President Troy Newman.

The charges stem from an incident during a gubernatorial debate at the Kansas State Fair in September where Newman and another man dressed in cockroach costumes to draw attention to Gov. Kathleen Sebelius’ refusal to clean up or close Kansas’ filthy abortion mills. Operation Rescue bought the building that housed Central Women’s Services in Wichita earlier this year and discovered mold and roach infestations, and other dangerous, filthy conditions.

The cockroach-clad demonstrators danced through the crowd of 2,000 spectators and conducted skits of political satire. Rep. Flora, who was wearing a Sebelius T-shirt, approached Newman and tore his mask off, causing a laceration to Newman’s head.

According to the complaint filed by the Reno County District Attorney’s office, Flora was charged with intentionally and unlawfully causing physical contact with Newman “in a rude, insulting or angry manner.”

Flora, a Democrat from Topeka who is running unopposed for re-election, is scheduled for his first court appearance on November 21. He faces up to a year in jail and a fine of no more than $1,000.

Newman expressed surprise that a State official would conduct himself in such a manner.

“I think Mr. Flora may need to take some anger management classes to help him get his temper under control,” said Newman. “If he has no problem attacking a stranger in front of a crowd of 2,000 people, it makes me concerned for the safety of his family.”

“As Christians, we pray for the repentance and salvation of Mr. Flora,” said Newman. “I harbor no ill will against him, although his actions have made me question whether he is qualified to hold a position in our state’s government. We just want to see him get his personal problems worked out so he doesn’t attack anyone else.”

Abortion Records Help Convict Child Rapist — Sentencing Wednesday

Man Guilty Of 9 Felonies Validates AG Kline’s Medical Records Subpoenas

Wichita, KS — Operation Rescue has uncovered documents that reveal that child rapist Robert A. Estrada was captured with the help of abortion clinic medical records that had been subpoenaed as a result of Attorney General Phill Kline’s investigation into criminal wrong-doing at abortion clinics.

In October, 2005, Kline forwarded the abortion clinic medical records obtained from the now defunct Central Women’s Services in Wichita to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s office. Those records, along with other information provided by an adoption group that had seen one of the girls, resulted in Estrada’s capture the following month.

Estrada is scheduled for sentencing in Sedgwick County on October 4, 2006, at 1:30 PM on nine felony counts of rape and indecent liberties with a child for the sexual abuse of his two step-daughters, which began when they were 11 and 12 years old resulting in four pregnancies, including two abortions. His wife, Patricia L. Estrada, earlier pled guilty to two counts of child endangerment and is currently serving a 14-month prison sentence.

This case is particularly disturbing because the girls’ abuse went unreported for years even though their sexual activity was obvious to adults who came in contact with them — including abortionist Sherman Zaremski* and workers at Central Women’s Services where they obtained abortions. The abortion clinic personnel never reported the suspected rapes to the authorities, as mandated by law, when the girls obtained abortions there even though the girls were younger than fifteen, but instead returned the girls to their abuser where the rapes continued. State law states sexual activity in children aged 15 or under is, by definition, criminal activity and must be reported. Such reporting could have stopped the abuse years earlier.

“This case alone validates Kline’s abortion clinic investigations and subpoenas for medical records. There is no doubt that without the medical records produced by Central Women’s Services in response to Kline’s subpoenas, those girls would still be enduring unspeakable abuse to this day,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman.

Kline has been under attack in the media for his investigations into unreported child rape and illegal late term abortions. Abortionist George Tiller of Wichita and a Planned Parenthood in Kansas City appealed Kline’s subpoenas for abortion clinic medical records. However, Central Women’s Services cooperated with the subpoenas resulting in the Estrada convictions and the prosecution of another child rapist in Marshall County, in addition to investigations in three other states.

“If records from an abortion clinic like Central Women’s Services that did relatively few abortions have led to so many investigations and convictions, you know there are perhaps dozens of cases abuse that Tiller and Planned Parenthood are hiding,” said Newman.

“It is obvious that Tiller and Planned Parenthood would rather have children continue to be abused rather than turn over records that would prove that they have been violating Kansas law. For the sake of those poor little girls, the Attorney General’s investigations must continue. It could be their only hope of deliverance from their rapists.”
