Regarding some of the concerns about war:

I have had friend ask why if I am against abortion do I not protest against the war in Iraq or the death penalty?

I don’t think this is too complicated of an issue.

War is waged as an act of government. The death penalty at least in America is arrived at after by a trial by jury with another hearing to determine the punishment and usually is carried out after a number of appeals.

Even if any war is unjustified and even if capital punishment is dead wrong what sets these apart from abortion is that they are carried out with due process and after examination by citizens and government leaders. They are not carried out as an act of arbitrary “choice” by one individual as is the case with abortion.

Innocent unborn human beings do not threaten countries and have committed not crimes.

Fair enough regarding your concern for placing millions of “unwanted” but that raises a question I would like to ask you:
Assuming the fetus is a human being, is being “unwanted” a justification for killing human beings – i.e. are you willing to kill a human being because he or she is unwanted?

I do not like or want war, but do understand the world we live in. (Ecc 3:1-8) “There is an appointed time for everything.” In this world God blessed us with, we have the responsibility to Love and care for everyone- especially the poor and oppressed. The people who lived under Sadam Hussein lived in tyranny similar to Hitler. Sometimes things have to appear worse to improve. Those people are living in more freedom now, and are receiving much assistance from us. I’m sure our military officials know when is a safe time to remove our troops, and allow these people to enjoy their new democracy. Documents have already been signed for withdrawl by 2011 no matter who is president. Those who have died in this war have died for a noble cause. On the other hand, the millions of babies that die from abortion, die from our society’s lack of morals. The ones who die from partial birth abortions have suffered even more cruel and inhumane punishments. Barack HUSSEIN Obama has voted and fought for women’s rights to partial birth abortions! As The Church believes, Life begins at conception, and that should be our starting point for saving it. Then saving it at other points will follow. I personally feel it is a serious mistake to vote for Barack Hussein Obama. I can not vote for any politician republican or democrat who is not for LIFE, and certainly not a catholic who promotes abortion like Joe Biden. I will pray for those who support abortion, but do not feel they deserve leadership positions because to much is entrusted- much is expected. Peace and All Good, Bridgett

Obama’s pro abortion stance is disturbing. The first thing I look for in a candidate before I consider voting for them is their respect for human life. If it is not there, then how can they lead? If they don’t respect and wish to protect the most vulnerable among us, then I don’t want them in charge…

Question…Are conservatives willing to put in place the NECESSARY social programs needed to support the women and girls forced to have these children… educational subsidies, college tuition vouchers, free day care, single parent support systems in every city and town. It’s against what the Republican platform stands for. Not looking into the future on this issue would cause poverty and its associated problems to grow exponentially. If abortion were made illegal, the rich would still have access to it, like in the days before ROE V. WADE.

It’s not a decision that a women makes lightly. I have not and wouldn’t have one personally, and I support my daughter myself. I have the advantage of an education, and it is still a struggle to even get into the middle class. I
try to be empathetic with these girls’ struggles. NO ONE KNOWS THEIR SITUATION.

Humans interfere with nature all the time. It’s just the way it is. Life is not always sunshine and flowers. Actually, nature (God’s will to some) spontaneously aborts
50% of fetuses, most before a women even realizes she’s pregnant. Many more after that. If nature was to take it’s course, many children would not make it to age 5. Thank to vaccinations against killer diseases, and medical technology, this is no longer the case.

Also, these ‘truth trucks” are not a thing I want my six year old to ever see. She is to young for these images, and also images of children and babies killed and maimed in Iraq. Y’all should think about the age-appropriatness in this campaign. I know like isn’t pretty…she has a few more precious years to go!!!!!

Heywood- good comment, good catch! Fred- the average wait for adopting a baby is 5 years- these babies are wanted by a multitude of people who would gladly raise and educate them. Sarah- you are an inspiration to many. Abstinence does work- you are a testimony to that fact. And you have got it right on Nobama! As Fr. Pavone says, “if it comes down to 2 candidates (which it has), you have to vote for the lesser of 2 evils”. I will not be voting for NObama, NoWay! Troy and Cheryl- we will continue to support you ,as we have in the past. Truth trucks need gas. Seminars need materials. Babies need saving. Continued prayers on the good work that you are doing!

Quite frankly at this time, I can tell you that trustuing in McCain in regards to war makes a whole lot more sense than trusting in Obama.
McCain was a Lt. Commander in the Navy where he was a fighter pilot. He was a POW, he took time to fight for the freedom that you enjoy. As an officer he would have had to make decision regarding conflicts that he was engaged in. What has Sen. Obama done that would gain trust in anyone when it comes to war?
Also, I dont understand how war has caused you to be unemployed. In that case it is the war I am fighting in that caused my father to lose his job, or my jobless girlfriend, mother of two great children struggle to find work.
And last, let me encourge you to trust God. The bible says to trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understandings. Lift it up to God and He will bring you employement. I will take a moment to pray for finacial blessings in your life.
