Operation Rescue and affiliates will show the truth about abortion as three graphic sign trucks visit four of America’s biggest parties and millions of potential onlookers.
Washington, DC – Jan 19, 2005 Operation Rescue will launch the “America’s Party Tour” today exposing the evil of abortion and calling on the President to Stop Abortion NOW!
A highly visible graphic billboard vehicle called the Truth Truck will circulate in Washington, DC traffic all week during the inaugural festivities. Life and Liberty Ministries will operate the full color display of aborted babies during the first stop of the America’s Party Tour.
Next stop is the huge Gasparilla Pirate Festival in Tampa Bay, Florida, January 29-Febuary 2.
The Truth Truck Fleet will then visit the American icon Super Bowl XXXIX party that will be in Jacksonville, Florida, from February 4-6.
As revelers celebrate “Fat Tuesday” in New Orleans during the Mardi Gras on February 8, Operation Rescue will be onsite challenging the party-goers to stand up for the pre- born babies.
“It is not fitting that America should celebrate as if the brutal deaths of 50 million innocent children had never occurred. Our Truth Trucks will be a powerful visual reminder at these heavily attended events that we cannot turn the other way while innocent children are dying,” said OR president Troy Newman.
“We want to thank Life and Liberty Ministries for their brave testimony on behalf of the voiceless at the Inauguration and their commitment to coming to the Super Bowl,” continued Newman. “We pray that the hearts of those in our nation’s capital and elsewhere will be touched by the plight of the pre-born, and take meaningful action to restore the protections of legal personhood to them.”

America Party Tour- where women are a second class, and graphic images are the only means to convey a message. No peace and love, just scare and shock tactics. That should spend some shock waves to all those liberals who support women’s choice, not just abortion, but the freedom for a woman to make a personal and private choice regarding her family life. A simple question for “second-classed citizen” and “two faced”: Why does it offend you to see the truthful pictures, and yet you’re in no way offended by the horrendous murders that have taken place through these abortions (documented by these pictures)? When you see pictures of dead holocaust victims in a PBS documentary, are you more offended that the pictures are used, or that people “were actually” slaughtered? Have you called the PBS national office to protest their use of pictures that real pictures that offend you? When violent crime shows air, do you stomp about and call the networks to end this type of programming? Thought not. Fanatical, truth -hating atheism blinds common sense and contradicts true charity and moral goodness. I pray that God will take off your blinders and allow you to see that a picture of an aborted baby truly represents a person that has been murdered by abortion. Porn does documented harm (directly connected to rape/molestation/sexual assault/divorce/STD’s and other evils) to virtually everyone involved in it, especially to women and children, which is not the case with graphic aborted babies which, if anything, help to stem those tides and, among people of conscience, elicit some sympathy to the victims — again, unlike porn.
So it’s not surprising that those who defend one would attack the other.
However, for you to reference these photos as propaganda without any proof that they are inaccurate is certainly two-faced of you, as well as excellent grounds for a slander suit, and propaganda in itself.
To save you some time to put to some constructive use, don’t bother trying to discredit the photos. Any honest, licensed pathologist can make pocket change out of you in court. For further evidence, please view the abortion gallery at priestsforlife.org…at the least, you’ll avoid adding more egg to your face(s); even better, you may end up with only one face (in the best sense of that phrase).
I don’t suppose the German men, women, AND CHILDREN much appreciated being shown the corpses in the death camps and on the carts pulled through the streets of Eastern Europe at the end of WWII, either, and probably expressed their disgust in terms somewhat similar to yours, as did the Nazis prior to the end of that war…they certainly did all they could to suppress exposure of their atrocities, especially pictures, even drawings.

There has been 44 million humans aborted since Roe v Wade in the USA. These humans were also citizens. and had a “Right” to be protected by our USA Constitution. It is so tragic to see people’s comments to the fact that they would rather bury their head in the sand then face the truth of abortion and see the truth truck pictures! Helpless babies are being murdered and these people simply don’t want to be reminded or bothered about it. They have time for their TV, video games, parties, save the animals, etc. BUT no time to spare when it comes to saving the life of a baby. This is clear evidence of a sick society who puts themselves over the true God made man, Jesus Christ, who promises eternal Hell to those who are murdering unborn babies.
I have personally seen these “truth trucks”, and they were absolutely ridiculus. The people at this organization showed a major lack of judgement when these trucks were put together. There are other ways of getting your word out other than having a blantant disregaurd for what you thrust on the general public through these graffic images. In essence, this actually undermines your cause for the fact that if your organization doesn’t care how your message is presented, then that makes this group seem radical and less reputable. I would think that a group trying to promote a cause it believes in would not detract from the message it was promoting by doing something this distasteful. Your group believes that this is a worthy cause, and I respect that. But, at the very least, respect the people you are trying to get your message out to, and do it in a respectable way. You may consider this as an attack and not post this because it doesn’t fit in with the message you are trying to present. If this organization does have an open mind it will consider posting it, and present a wide aspect of views for individauls to discuss.

Ok, I’m back! Your request, essentially that ORW and allies refrain from showing the American public the graphic truth of the abortion holocaust, might make some sense if America were innocent of this bloodguilt. However, that is not the case; and the media has made huge contributions to that genocide by suppressing the truth about what induced abortion does and to WHOM (not ‘what’). We all know, of course, that the mainstream media is not the least bit squeamish about showing graphic, gory images when it suits their agenda to do so and that, if they had given the war on the unborn the coverage they give wars which they oppose and therefore want to end, millions of children (and many of their mothers) would be alive today.
Lying to people is much more disrespectful to them than telling them the truth, even if it is an unpleasant, unpalatable truth. We respect the American public enough to remove the blinds placed over their eyes by the child-killing industry and it’s many sycophantic accomplices in the media; why don’t you? We also care how our message is presented; the first thing we care about, contrary to some other posts here, is ACCURACY. But it is much more important to us what people know about abortion than what they think of us for exposing the truth. What do you care about, Mark? Is it more offensive to you that children are slaughtered than that some people show the truth of it? What is wrong with being “radical”? That word only means working toward a deep change, and is, in itself, only as valid or invalid as the change we are trying to effect; in this case, and end to the slaughter of innocent children and lying to their mothers and everyone else about that slaughter. It’s pretty hard to buy the lies that a pre-born child is “only a clump of cells, not a baby” or that abortion is “safe & nonviolent” while looking at these images, isn’t it, Mark? Therefore, the cause undermined by the public display of aborted baby photos is not ours…
As to the project you promote — making abortion look “respectable” — that’s been done to death (the death of over 45 million children and at least thousands of their moms, for starters) by the proaborts; our purpose is to show it for what it is. If you find that reality so offensive, why not do something proven to be effective in ending it, rather than casting your whining aspersions upon those who are?
It’s funny, Mark, but for a guy so keen on promoting a more open marketplace of information & ideas, so to speak, you do seem awfully keen on closing it to certain groups. . .but without any actual evidence that the content you wish to censor does sufficient harm (more harm, for instance, than the holocaust exposed by these photos) to justify your efforts.
Oh, and that reminds me! Did you know, Mark, that the Nazis did everything within their power to suppress any evidence, especially graphic, of their genocidal handiwork? I’m glad if you find the photos themselves “distasteful”; I think the Germans found the death camp corpses distasteful to view and bury, when someone finally applied sufficient testosterone to bring those events to pass. I also think that America is better off in the hands of folks who remember General Patton with honour and Herr Hitler in infamy. Do you yourself have a preference?
I’ve got a strong hunch, Mark, that when America shows more respect for innocent human life — by restoring legal protection to the preborn — you’ll find lots of us showing at least a bit more deference to less vital concerns…like what would then be legitimate, if superfluous, pleasantries.

I don’t think I can improve on Arx’s remarks, but would add two things that I think have been posted here before but seem to bear repeating:
Where is your respect for America’s children? They generally, after all, not only survive but are bettered by seeing the photos you abhor, with appropriate adult guidance; but they generally do not survive BEING “those pictures”, and they are not bettered by that experience, with or without the appropriate adult guidance ORW and others seek to give their mothers.
I think most people who show these images, on trucks, on t-shirts, buttons, posters, etc., would rather not but feel that it needs to be done and, I’m guessing, will gladly refrain from sounding the warning once the danger is past: why not show that great big caring heart of yours and help them work themselves out of what, tragically, remains a legitimate job?

I got stuck behind two of the “Truth Trucks” today. I find it interesting that you’re willing to show the headless remains of an aborted fetus, but you put a black bar over its genitals.
Also, confronting people with highly charged imagery while they are trying to operate heavy machinery strikes me as an exceptionally bad idea.
Also, why aren’t there better pictures of the Truth Truck here? It would be helpful for people who want to tell other people about the bloody trucks they saw.

What is particularly inconsistent about showing an aborted child’s corpse and covering the genitals? Or do you just want to find some excuse to use dedicated prolifers to stand on top of, so to speak, to make yourself appear bigger? The gender of the child isn’t the point of showing the picture; his/her humanity, and the violence done to him/her by an induced abortion, is.
The latter needs to be shown to the American public as long as this holocaust is allowed to continue out of respect for the lives of all the unborn Americans still at risk; I expect the genitals were covered out of respect for the child in the picture, not wanting to add unnecessary insult to injury.
I don’t think that your “heavy machinery” argument will fly; I drove a small truth truck for about a year, and did not cause any wrecks doing so. Yes, there were a few abusive, unsigned proabort notes placed under my windshield, and even a crude, homemade proabort “sticker” placed on it once, but there were more encouraging notes placed on it. Of course, the truck was parked in those instances. In moving traffic, it’s usually either the thumb or the middle finger up at you in passing, and the thumbs up responses outnumbered the “IQ salutes” about 10 to 1. Of course, there are those who, bereft of any substantive argument against the evidence presented, can’t seem to resist hollaring crude, cursing, remarks in passing; falling back on mindless vitriol parroted from the proabort playbook. But no wrecks, no life endangered, though I know some proaborts who’d do that just to make their point…as long as it was someone else’s car, insurance, and life/health involved…as it is in their death camps masquerading as “health care clinics”. I collect excuses people throw at those of us who show the truth for trying to get us to suppress it; this one, I have to admit, takes the cake.

What they do not survive, and are not bettered by, is BEING “those pictures” prenatally.

Just two quick comments on truth tours/trucking:
First, A DEFINITE WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT TO ALL YOU TRUCKERS AND “SIGNPOSTS” OUT THERE:
Gloria Feldt, newly past president of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, said in her speech at the proabort “March for Women’s Li(v)es” last April, “WE LOSE EVERY TIME THE OTHER SIDE PUTS THE WORD ‘CHOICE’ NEXT TO A PHOTO OF A MUTILATED FETUS”. Her exact wording may have been slightly different, but not by much, and not in essence. Since those remarks were made to inspire a crowd of thousands of proaborts to renewed truth suppression efforts, I think that they can fairly be interpreted as accurate reflections of PPFA’s true views and intentions…which we know is not always the case.
Some of their affiliates have signs out now with the slogan, “WE’RE MORE THAN YOU THINK”…what they conveniently neglect to mention, of course, is more WHAT…more dangerous, more deceitful, more determined, more racist, more greedy, etc….all these would be accurate, but since supplying the deficiency of info in this regard could prove to work against their true aims, you can bet that it won’t be supplied by them. But then, that’s their PR face, which is typically the exact opposite of their true one.
Anyway, should you ever become discouraged by doubts as to your effectiveness in fighting abortion by showing it as it really is, this should put some fresh wind beneath your wings!

I got to see the “Truth Trucks” today while enjoying the Superbowl festival with my 6 year old daughter. I am pro-life, but this form of protest is simply uncalled for. My daughter was horrified by the pictures displayed on the side of your trucks. I think that there are better venues of showing your opinion then this.

the truth in this case, being horrific, that is the natural response.
by the way, what other venues do you suggest? maybe a quiet, little tract that could be handed out, and thrown away by the recipient before being looked at? you see, for 32 years it’s been legal to kill babies right up until birth, and america, for too long, has chosen to look the other way and let the killing go on.
truth trucks make looking the other way difficult, and maybe that’s what it will take to change this culture to one of life, rather than death.
I don’t feel that my daughter should be horrified at all at her age!! A 6 year old is not emotional ready to see or hear about what abortion does. Why stop with the trucks if that is what you are trying to do… horrify kids… why not place pictures of aborted babies up at the playgrounds?? Giving a 6 year old nightmares isn’t a way to people to choice life.

it is natural and normal that every person, man, woman or child, would be horrified at abortion’s ugly truth. i do feel that if a child is exposed to truths such as that, or television shows or commercials with starving kids with bloated bellies, or soldiers lying dead on a battlefield, etc…, then it’s up to us adults to use those moments to teach the child about some of the things in this world. i think there are simple truths you could explain to her that would help her understand that opposing abortion is the proper response to this kind of reality.
no child in today’s world can be shielded from ugliness and evil for very long, unfortunately. wouldn’t it be great if we could end abortion, and then there wouldn’t be need for such photos to be shown? let’s work towards that end.
i’m reminded of jean garton’s book “who broke the baby?”. she was an abortion nurse in her younger years, and had a video of an abortion in the vcr. her four year old son was asleep in the other room. she paused the vcr for minute, and an image of an aborted child was on the screen while she went into the other room for a drink of water. suddenly, she heard her son’s voice “mommy, who broke the baby?”. he had wandered in because he couldn’t sleep.
needless, to say, her life was changed, and now she is a strong prolife advocate.
her son, far from being scarred by the experience, went on to become well-adjusted, married, and had children of his own, of which she is now the proud grandmother. my recollection of this story is that she was able to explain to her son somehow about what he had seen. you may want to get a copy of that classic book, and see how she handled it.
Lisa, First of all I would not take a six year old to the SuperBowl or the pre activities. That is not a good enviorment for a six year old. The SuperBowl has nothing but half-clad women and the half-time performance from Hell.
Also the ads are vulgar and the performers look like CockRoaches and hounddogs. That is much more damageing for the six year old because the public thinks that is okay. You and your six year old should be tramatized because the pictures on the Truth Trucks are a “Fact” not an opinion. Wake-up and smell the coffee.

Thank God your daughter has the sanity to be horrified by what she saw. Children typically do.
What she needs from you in response is an explanation as to what happened (a normal human reaction to viewing a corpse is to demand an account) to the BABY. You might simply tell her that someone very wicked killed the baby, is killing other babies, and that some people show the pictures of these babies because they want the killing stopped. You can also assure her that you will not let anyone do that to her, and that you are doing everything you can to be sure it doesn’t happen to other little babies…if, in fact, you are (?); dressing down those who are using what has been proven to be an effective tactic in fighting for these little ones is certainly an odd way of going about it, though.
Bottom line, some perspective: Children can, with proper adult guidance, get over seeing “those pictures”, and even be better for having seen them. CHILDREN DO NOT GET OVER BEING “THOSE PICTURES”, AND ARE NEVER BETTERED BY THAT EXPERIENCE.
However, you are not alone in your view that “this form of protest is uncalled for”. Planned Parenthood, responsible for the murders of millions of little boys and girls worldwide (and more of their moms than they care to admit), agrees with you 100%, as do all their proabortion allies. They want these images suppressed as the Third Reich wanted all evidence of the death camp atrocities suppressed…the better to continue with their agenda unhindered, my dear…be careful.
I’m sure that if prolifers really wanted to horrify little children for the sake of it, they’d do just what you say — take the trucks to playgrounds. But if Planned Parenthood had their way, there’d be no trauma to children in that, since all the playgrounds would be empty.
