Wichita, KS – The schedule for the trial of late-term abortionist George Tiller has been updated.
Jury selection will begin on Monday, March 16, 2009. Opening arguments are scheduled to begin on Monday, March 23.
The schedule for Operation Rescue’s prayer events will remain the same. Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney of the Christian Defense Coalition will be in Wichita on Monday, March 16, to help lead the vigils.

• We will gather outside the Sedgwick County Courthouse located at the corner of Central Ave. and Main St. at 8:00 AM on Monday, March 16 and cover the day’s proceedings in prayer.
UDATE! We will meet at Cornerstone Fellowship, 3520 N. Arkansas St., Wichita 67204 at 7:00 PM for evening prayer and praise.

We plan to maintain this schedule throughout the trial.
“Perhaps the most important prayers we will offer will be for jury selection since these are the people who will ultimately make the very important decision based on the evidence,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman.
Tiller is being charged with 19 misdemeanor counts of committing illegal abortions by using a second concurring physician who was legally and financially affiliated with him. Such affiliation is against the law. He faces up to 1 year in jail per charge, and monetary fines. A conviction could result in a suspension or revocation of his medical license.
Tiller operates the largest late-term abortion clinic in the free world. He employs three out-of-state abortionists, including the notorious partial birth abortionist LeRoy Carhart of Nebraska. Women come to Tiller’s abortion mill from all over the world to get late-term abortions that are illegal or unavailable in their areas. Operation Rescue has long held that Tiller has been operating illegally.
If you cannot join us in Wichita, please remember to keep these proceedings in prayer where ever you are.
