Patient S. tells from her hospital bed how she was locked in a room against her will for four hours while a raging infection nearly took her life.
Wichita, KS – A life-threatening abortion complication landed a patient of late-term abortionist George R. Tiller in the hospital last Thursday. The woman has come forward to tell of her harrowing, near-death experience at Tiller’s Women’s Health Care Services.
Patient S. has alleged that on Tuesday, September 23, abortionist Shelley Sella may have botched an injection into her abdomen, causing sepsis, a systemic infection that rapidly spreads throughout the body and can cause rapid death.
She also accuses Sella of misdiagnosing her pregnancy at 19 weeks, even though previous medical examinations placed her pregnancy at 23 weeks, beyond the legal limit in Kansas.
On Thursday, while sick, crying, and running a fever of 103.7°, she returned to WHCS where she was isolated in a locked room for four hours, during which time her pleas for release were ignored.
Patient S. was told that she should be quiet because she was upsetting the other women, and was threatened that unless her attitude changed, they would no longer treat her. She was also told that she would have to drive over three hours to a hospital in Kansas City where her abortion would be completed. She refused to make the trip and demanded that Tiller finish the procedure.
Patient S. observed that she continued to feel movements in her womb. Her mother was present during the removal of the baby, and observed Tiller inserting a tube into the baby’s skull and removing the brains, a procedure that is illegal if the baby was still alive.
Before the final procedure, Patient S. said that she feared, “They’re liable to kill me under sedation.” During the procedure, Patient S. suffered an asthma attack and cardiac arrest, but was revived.
Instead of calling an ambulance, Tiller drove Patient S. to Wesley Medical Center in his personal Jeep. She feared for her safety since Tiller apparently could not see very clearly, and was verbally directed though traffic by a female employee who was with them.
She was treated and discharged from the hospital on Saturday, September 27, 2008, even though she was still in pain and feeling sick from her ordeal.
Patient S.’s experience closely resembles that of 19-year old Christin Gilbert, who died from untreated sepsis during a third-trimester abortion at WHCS on January 13, 2005.
“We have repeatedly begged the authorities in Kansas to hold Tiller accountable for the many women he had hurt just over the past few years. How many women must be maimed or killed before Tiller is brought to justice? We say it again: Tiller is a menace and we demand that he be held accountable for his dangerous, if not criminal, actions. This time, the public should not take ‘no’ for an answer,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman.

I understand Patient S’s ordeal was horrendous, but what about the horrendous ordeal her unborn baby experienced because she willingly took her baby to Tiller to have her baby brutally killed in the first place? Hey that was Patient S’s “CHOICE” and she should deal with almost losing her life. But what about the baby’s CHOICE?
So where is the remorse about the killing of her unborn baby that she could have put up for adoption!? She and her mother WATCHED them kill her baby by removing the brains? What kind of a mother and/or grandmother would allow this to happen in the first place?
I question the integrity of those who want sympathy only when their life is on the line! We can’t overlook the terrible deed she did to her own baby. We can’t forget the true VICTIM in this case: her dead baby!
The sound quality really needs to be beefed up or you need subtitles. I can’t understand half of what she’s saying.
And I realize that it’s a pointless exercise in futility, but she still needs to file a complaint with the medical board.
Thank you Operation Rescue and everyone who is helping this poor woman. I am sure that right now she cannot come to terms with what she did to her baby. That will come in time. In the meantime, she needs the love and support of forgiving Christians who can help her through this tramatic time in her life. Sometimes, the Bible says, love triumphs over judgement, so thank you for loving her enough to help her. I am praying that your loving action will bear eventually the fruit of repentance in her life.
Yes, the real tragedy is the murder of the innocent one.
However, most people don’t care one whit about the preborn. (Yet, we are too overly sensitive with the born; i.e., each other.)
So, this video is great! It may make some pro-abortion people want to stop Tiller. Some may even be converted to the pro-life cause.

She knew EXACTLY what she was getting into when she stepped into Tiller’s clinic. She had been to the crisis pregnancy clinic next door. She had an ultrasound.
She COULD have taken advantage of the CPC’s services and let the child live, and put it up for adoption, but NO.
Neither she, nor the male in the video had any concern for the dath of the baby (and the entire time, she calls it A BABY ) other than how horrific it was for HER OWN MOTHER to witness the child having it’s brains sucked out, and how she’s been having nightmares over it.
NO ONE involved here is having any ill feelings over the fact that this baby is now DEAD. Mommy got just what she paid for. A dead baby. Yet, she was “cryin’ and hysterical and hurtin”. I’m sure the precious child who had his/her brains sucked out experienced a lot more hysteria, and hurtin’ than she did.
This woman is doing nothing more than playing the “victim card” and wants sympathy and to be held up as some sort of hero for her ordeal WHICH SHE WILLFULLY CHOSE when she agreed to the abortion at 23 weeks. WHAT did she honestly think was going to happen in order for them to remove the baby???

It’s taking every fiber of my being to feel any sympathy for this woman after viewing this and reading the account. NOT ONCE does she express ANY concern for the brutal agonizing death of her child. All she’s concerned about it that SHE nearly died as a result of her “choice”.
“Love the sinner, hate the sin”.
EASIER SAID THAN DONE.
No doubt she’ll sue old George and profit handsomely from her choice, but when all is said and done, ANOTHER baby is dead, thanks to the sick laws of our country, and everyone who participated in the death of this INNOCENT child.

And this isn’t some vague idea of an embryo…this is an obvious INFANT that the mother felt kick and the grandmother could clearly see. but also…if tiller can’t see to DRIVE how can he see to perform ANY medical procedure? The poor woman is suffering from severe trauma right now, which is clear from watching the video, and thank God for the love and support OR is giving her, which is what she needs right now. I have a family member who had several abortions and to my knowledge she still hasn’t dealt with it over twenty years later.
May this entire horrific episode mark the beginning of the end of Tiller and Co.’s reign of terror.

Mike, I understand how you feel, and I agree that the biggest victim here is the innocent unborn child. But we pro-life people have to understand that many (not all, but many) women who go into these killing centers have no idea what they are really doing to their children or themselves. “Forgive them, for they know not what they do.” Their heads are filled with so many lies by the abortion industry. And by the time they have made the decision to have the abortion, no amount of persuading will alter that decision. You hear this frequently from post-abortive women. They have emotionally and mentally shut down by the time they arrive at the abortuary.
We must remember too, that some women have abortion under duress – poverty, and pressure from family and boyfriends, sometimes to the point of physical threats. Abortion seems like such an easy, quick fix to all this.
And of course there is the factor that the black community is the biggest target of the abortion cartel. It has been sold to them for years not only by Planned Parenthood, but also by their political leaders and their churches as a solution to their problems.
Without knowing all the circumstances which led to this young woman’s decision to abort, we must refrain from drawing conclusions about her as a person. She needs prayer right now, not condemnation.
The young lady sacrificed her baby and her near death to reveal this murderer: Tiller. It is sad for anyone to choose to end a pregnancy and trust a murderer to do the job. She admits that she knew some voice telling her not to go through with it; but was fooled. That is what happens to any of us when our defenses are down and we are alone against evil forces. We go through the horrors of hell; as this beautiful girl did. Give her your prayers not criticism now. God forgives her as He holds her sweet child now. Have mercy.
I agree with Mike. This woman knew exactly what she was doing and had the support from her own mother! She was perfectly fine with having the abortion and was knowingly seeing it through when suddenly the tables turned and she became the “victim” almost losing her own life!
But she had no regard for the life of her unborn baby enough to let the baby live and give the baby away in adoption! That is what I have a problem with! This is where “Choice” of one infringes on the life of the other and I have no respect for those who continue to do this knowing there are better alternatives!

the thing too is that these late term abortions are NOT CHEAP. so I never understood how you can claim to have money issues and yet come up with thousands of dollars for a late term abortion. What is wrong with her family that they can’t all step up in love and support this young woman and help her give life to her baby? oh no, they are all OUTRAGED now but where were they when she decided to go to that place of death in the beginning of the whole situation? It doesn’t take a village to raise a child but it does take a FAMILY. If one of my children found themselves in an unwed unplanned pregnancy I would be there to help them choose life 100%. Our society has accepted the butchering of preborn children. Where is the outrage over this and the alleged murder of a baby born alive in tiller’s “clinic?” It seems only a small section of people care. Others don’t want to be bothered with the truth because it doesn’t affect them directly. We better start caring because we wonder why there is so much violence and zero respect for life. A four month old baby was shot to death while sleeping with his mother….no regard for life. I blame abortion for many ills in this society.
This woman needs many prayers. I agree with Pam. Planned Parenthood has really targeted the black community. We wonder why there is so much disruption in black families. We have no idea what this woman has gone through, and I believe Jesus would welcome her with loving arms.
Ok guys here is the thing. I too, am very disappointed that the patient in this video who was a patient of George Tillers is not accepting responsibility for her own actions in killing her child. It seems to me that there is more anger within her family about the fact that the patient almost died at the hands of Tiller then there is about the cruel and heinous death of the baby. At first when I heard all of this I was very angry and thought that if the patient didn’t have any remorse for killing her baby then why should I sympathize with her story. Then, God brought it all back into perspective for me when He reminded me that sin is sin, no matter how big or small-to God, it is SIN. We are sinning if we are angry and think bad thoughts towards this girl. Is her sin bigger than ours-to God, NO! We all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Now, we all need to repent and ask God to help us show His love to this girl and her family. We might be the only ones that can show her God’s love. Don’t worry, God will deal with her and her own sin and we must submit so that He can deal with ours!

Thank you for your comments. We agree that there should be a little less condemnation and a little more love and compassion, especially from the pro-life community. Nobody’s perfect, and we all make mistakes, but that does not mean we should not be shown love and understanding. In fact, it probably means we need that even more! I pray for your cousin. She must be in shock right now and will need many prayers. Sometimes people point the finger and jusge but please realize that not all in the pro-life community do that. I believe that women have been lied to about abortion so I blame the people who make profits off of murdering babies.
ya know, I am GLAD this woman is alive. Certainly I don’t want her to die. and I DO feel compassion for the horror she has lived through. I don’t HATE women that have had abortions..I have quite a few friends who have had abortions…some more than once! I am just trying to wrap my mind around feeling your baby kick and still going ahead and killing it. When she was feverish she still made tiller kill the baby even though she felt the baby kicking. that just makes me CRY. I am a mom…I felt so much love for my son when I felt him kick I can’t understand this woman’s choice. I feel horrible that she was beaten by her man. But how would abortion solve a domestic abuse situation? Why don’t families step up and help women like her in these abusive situations? She is pregnant and being abused so the solution was to drop her off at tiller’s death clinic? This is my whole point…Women: WE DESERVE BETTER!!!!!!!!!! Patient S gets no sympathy from any right-thinking Christian. The “judge not lest ye be judged” quote is so often misapplied as it refers to judging the state of another’s soul not their external actions. If it were otherwise, no courtroom could exist in this life. There could be no authority parental or otherwise. Patient S’s external actions were wicked and she has been punished to some degree in this life. God alone will judge her in the next life. He loves the repentant sinner not the reprobate. Tiller is undoubtedly a reprobate. Patient S has a chance to save her soul but should do penance for her mortal sin of being an accomplice to murder.
My mind isn’t made up about the rights and wrongs of abortion…. I came across this site reading about Tiller in the KC Star and was simply curious and did a google search. I impressed by the Christians who are not judgmental of this woman and are talking about mercy, but the other people cutting this woman down are so judgmental, this is why people avoid the pro-life movement, fear of being judged. I can’t help but wonder if this woman was white, if there would be more sympathy and forgiveness for the mistake she made.

Yes she may have made a mistake, you don’t know what her feelings are abou this. A video that lasts a few moments can’t possible show that. I hope these people can keep working with her. I hope that she is able to come to terms with what happened, and help someone else.
