Washington, DC – The Obamacare health insurance scheme, along with its embedded abortion coverage, is slated to go into effect on October 1, 2013, unless Congress finds a way to stop it.
Last Friday, 50 leaders from national pro-life groups across America issued a joint statement of defiance, declaring that they will not comply with Obamacare, which causes men and women of faith to violate their consciences by forcing them to purchase health insurance that pays for abortions.
The signers are asking others of like conscience to sign on to the “Pledge for the Preservation of Life and Liberty” and send a strong message to Washington that we will not tolerate the dismantling of our religious freedoms.
Today, Students for Life in America released a helpful new flyer explaining how the complex Obamacare system funds abortions. That flyer can be downloaded here.
“The Obama Administration has overstepped its bounds by forcing the faith community to fund abortion in violation of our deeply held religious beliefs in the sanctity of human life,” said Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue. “We cannot and will not comply with this tyrannical law that strips us of our God-given right to practice our religious beliefs and compels us to participate in the shedding of innocent blood through the funding of abortion.”
As the Senate continues to debate the national debt and considers House amendments to defund Obamacare, we are asking all who oppose the forced funding of abortion to contact their Congressmen and Senators today and demand that Obamacare be defunded.
We are also asking men and women of faith to fast and pray for our country today and tomorrow so that this national debacle, which will not only cost the lives of pre-born babies but will diminish the quality of health care to all Americans, costing untold additional lives, can somehow be averted.
