Wichita, KS — A rampaging man attacked two members of Operation Rescue as they gathered in his neighborhood on Wednesday to offer pre-Thanksgiving prayers for the repentance and salvation of abortion worker Edna M. Roach.
The man, believed to be Roach’s husband, stormed from the house, kicked over a Scripture verse sign held by Karen Myers, then crossed the driveway and slapped the video camera held by Cheryl Sullenger before retreating back into the house. Just as Sullenger was struck, a Wichita Police officer pulled up and witnessed the attack.
As he was interviewing the suspect inside the home, another officer arrived and began conversing with the pro-lifers. Keith Mason noticed a woman standing in her driveway observing the gathering and walked over to speak with her about why pro-lifers were in her neighborhood. The woman told Keith to get off her street. As he turned to walk away, she shoved him in the back, causing him to stumble forward.
The second police officer immediately confronted the woman who remained belligerent and uncooperative with the officer. Eventually she left the scene after Keith indicated he would not file charges against her.
Roach is a long-time employee of Women’s Health Care Services, the infamous late-term abortion mill owned and operated by George R. Tiller. She is best known as the worker who accompanies patients suffering from botched abortions to the hospital. Although Roach has no formal training or post-secondary education, she often assists, according to reports, with laminaria insertion and other medical procedures. She often stays at local hotels with late-term abortion patients while they are in labor or recovering from their abortions.
According to records, Roach and her husband, Larry B. Griggs, have both previously been arrested on domestic violence charges. Roach obtained a protective order against Griggs in July, 2005, for verbal and physical abuse, but the order was later recinded.
“Edna lives a life that is immersed in violence,” said Sullenger. “On the job she assists in the violent destruction of pre-born babies, many in the late terms of pregnancy. That alone must take an emotional toll. Then when she goes home, it is to an abusive relationship with a man who may fly into a rage at a moment’s notice. If he would so easily strike me with the police watching him, I can only wonder what he does to her when he knows no one is looking. Edna is a woman trapped in a world of violence of her own making, and desperately needs our prayers. God alone can set her free from the hellish life she has created for herself.”
Police filed a complaint against Sullenger’s attacker that will be submitted to the City Prosecutor, who will later decide if criminal charges will be pursued.

BE CAREFUL
FOR NOTHING
Press charges!
To the guy who was shoved: Press charges!
If you don’t care about your own safety, then press charges for the safety of others!
If the abortuary staff are witnesses, then subpoena them! If they are sitting around waiting to be called as a witness (for the prosecution!) then they aren’t helping to kill kids.
PRESS CHARGES! ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS!
Wow, that’s the most amazing story I have ever read. Please write more. I cannot wait.
I agree with you brother. Press charges when assulted. If we do not- it will only get worse.
Such grace is accepted by baby killers and their advocates as a license to assult.
One only needs to take a look at how many assults and batteries are reported on Chris Coatney in Detroit who whines about every attack yet even when a bystander witnesses the attack and chases down the culprit blocks away- having police arrest the guy- Coatney forgives the guy and charges are dropped.
Now HE faces charges of assault (probable falsehoods given his pacifist nature) and wonders why he keeps being beaten and charged himself.
Lord help us all if you guys keep failing to press charges when assulted.
Hey, whats the big woop?
We stand by passive as they assalt the children. Why should we be surprised if we let them assault us as well?
If you had picketed someone’s home like that in Virginia, you would have been arrested. In Virginia, they believe that a man’s home is his castle. If you picket targeting someone’s home, you will be breaking the law.
good point rick, of course not all stand passively, some are working and i wonder how much money they earn while standing for the babies in front of the clinics?
George, while anyone should explore all laws (federal, state, local) before engaging in any picketing activity (including talking to a qualified attorney able to practice in that area who is familiar with these types of things), do keep in mind that we have a First Amendment. Nobody should be on someone else’s private property, but the STREET is taxpayer funded. Clearly, people cannot obstruct traffic, but the street is NOT a man’s “castle.” While you complain about the picketing, you seem to have neglected condemning about the totally unnecessary assault against these peaceful witnesses for life. Why? If the individuals (who were violent to the PEACEFUL pro-lifers) did not like the presence of the prolifers, they should have called the police. The two individuals who assaulted peaceful pro-life witnesses and attacked their property had NO right to do this.
Why not cite the specific law in VA that you are talking about and provide a web link so we all can read it. Of course, let us all remember that the brutal attack on pro-lifers took place in KANSAS, not Virginia.
George, remember that for nine months, the womb is a baby’s castle. Considering your concern about man’s castle, I hope you will condemn abortion. Abortion is breaking and entering the baby’s castle, commiting assault and battery on the baby, and finally, murdering the baby.
I agree with the comments about pressing charges. They should be pressed in BOTH cases where peaceful pro-lifers were attacked. By all means, personally forgive the people and pray for them, but press charges anyway. Pressing charges is NOT an act of “revenge.” The charges are a reflection of the action. We must love the sinner and hate the sin. If charges are pressed, it will send a message to this person (and hopefully others) that such behavior is not to be tolerated in this society. It may make them think twice before doing it again. Many who are unfamiliar with the Christian faith think that if something is allowed in secular law, it is acceptable.
Remember that the pro-abortion side depends largely on case law. The pro-abort side loves to claim that most pro-lifers are “violent.” Obviously, this is totally untrue. But the pro-aborts have marketing power and the “fence-sitters” are more likely to believe them over the pro-life side. Having solid cases to EXPOSE the violence committed against pro-lifers will certainly help the pro-life side.
I forgot to finish up a particular thought…
“Many who are unfamiliar with the Christian faith think that if something is allowed in secular law, it is acceptable.” I meant to say that to those who are not familiar with the Christian faith, despite being told that they are not being charged due to forgiveness, they might just assume that they are not being charged because the victim doesn’t think it will go anywhere. In my opinion, a CLEAR message should be sent by pressing charges.
love the sinner and hate the sin, where is that located in Holy Scripture? Esau i loved and Jacob i hated. in fact He throws coward, fornificators, killers, liars and other types of sinners in Hell. blasphamey against the Holy Spirit is an unforgiveable sin, if God doesn’t forgive those guilty of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, i doubt He loves them.
Tobra, the phrase “love the sinner” can be inferred quite easily from the Gospel according to St. Matthew, 5:43-48. Of course, it is quite obvious that we must hate sin.
As to whom God condemns to hell, that is God’s call, not ours. Yes, we should do our best to educate people (in a peaceful and legal manner) on what is sinful. But it is NOT our place to decide who is and who is not going to hell. See the Gospel according to St. Matthew 7:1-2.
God ultimately would LIKE all of us all to join Him for eternity. If He did not love us, He would not have sent His only begotten Son to suffer and die for us. However, God gives us free will. Anyone can make the choice to squander this most incredible and generous opportunity (one which we do not deserve as sinful humans). In such case, God will respect our choice…..and he/she will experience eternal separation from God.
However, this Scriptural discussion is really off-topic. The topic is about sinful violence committed against peaceful pro-lifers who were praying for an abortion mill employee. I have said what I have to say on the off-topic matters. Further discussion from me will be related to the pro-life victims and the crimes committed against them.
bill, that is a very nice way of bascally explaining why you believe the Bible says to hate the sin and love the sinner. i think your interpretation is not Biblical and of course wanted to let readers know as i think many are decieved thinking we need to love the sinner. the Word says
God hates some sinners and offers a listing. am curious and would appreciate your response privately as ORW has the email address, how do you separate the sin from the sinner, for instance the adulterer from the adultry , the killer from the killing?
Yes, PRESS CHARGES. An very on-topic Scriptural directive is found in Ecclesiastes 8:11…God bless.
Tobra, I’m not sure how to get this to you via email. Consider our Lord and Savior’s conversation with the adultress: “Neither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more.” Under your interpretation, our Lord would not have said that. Clearly, one must repent and avoid the sin in the future. While we cannot decide for others, one who dies in the state of mortal sin (for Catholics, this means committing a mortal sin and failing not only to receive the Sacrament of Confession, but also truly being sorry and resolving to avoid sin in the future) is almost certainly going to hell. Only God can know someone’s state. People have the opportunity to repent until death. Do you really think St. Paul, who was formerly a murderer, is in hell? Do you think St. Matthew, who was a tax collector (very bad in those times), is in hell? Did God hate either of these men for what they did? Both of these men had conversions and were later inspired by the Holy Spirit to write part of the Word of God.
you could have contacted cheryl sullenger for my email. wished you would have done what you said and commented only on the prolife victims and that subject.
“Because the sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.”
Good verse, I believe we should applyit and press charges when attacked lest others are attacked in greater degree in future proabort anger…..
but I wonder how does 2Peter 3:9 and Habakkuk 2:3 play into how we a limited mortals might percieve God sentencing of justice in cases like this?
“The Lord does not delay His promise, as some understand delay, but is patient with you, not wanting any to perish, but all to come to repentance.”
“For the vision is yet for the appointed time;it testifies about the end and will not lie.Though it delays, wait for it,since it will certainly come and not be late. ”
In regard to God hating “some” sinners …
Psalm 5:5
teaches us that God hates ALL workers of iniquity.
Perhaps it is the exclusionary activist aka elitist who thinks that God somehow accepts or loves some sins as He might accept or love some types of saving childrens lives and not other types?
Most cults start out with the idea that they are better than other ‘believes’, yes?
i am glad Jesus was an exclusionary activist. what is going on with the baby killer’s man who attacked the prolifers, is the american government’s staff going to arrest him? usually when american police see or even hear of any type of physical contact on american soil they arrest the person who touched or struck another, you might pursue why this arrest has not occured? please mention the persons attacked were not in the womb.
yeah ok lets go hit ppl because we dont like what there doing. wow, what a bunch of dingle dorks.
The wrath of God abides on the children of disobediance. God has love for all man kind that is made available thru the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ.
One will never experiance the fulness of God’s love, until one has surrendered to the Lordship of Christ.
Until that time, yes, God hates sinner and sin both. We are to offer the gospel to the sinner so they can come to a place of salvation and blessing.
The basic gospel message is to escape the wrath of God to come, thru the love gift of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
To soft soap God’s wrath, is a very dangerous exclussion of a part of the gospel. If God loves me just the way I am, what do I need Jesus for anyway?
Why do I need the transforming power of the cross if God is such a love patsy?
Turn or burn!!
