New York City, NY — Operation Rescue announces that it is making a financial contribution to Expectant Mother Care, for the support of their ground-breaking hi-tech mobile Crisis Pregnancy Center that will be operated outside New York area abortion mills, including twice per week visits to the troubled New Jersey mill, Metropolitan Medical Associates, if it is ever allowed to reopen.
Operated by veteran pro-lifer Chris Slattery, the 32-foot long mobile office will offer free 4-D ultrasounds to women in climate controlled comfort just steps away from the abortion clinic doors. Slattery says that the motor home costs about $300 per day to operate. Expenses include gas, insurance, parking, and wages for an ultra-sound technician and counselor.
Slattery runs 15 more traditional crisis pregnancy offices in the New York area and has estimated that his ministry has saved about 17,000 babies, mostly through the use of ultrasound imaging.
“Chris has been a pioneer in using the latest methods and technology to spare the lives of innocent children. He now brings his expertise to the street where women can get the help they need where they need it most, outside the door of the abortion clinics,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. “This effort is worthy of our support. We urge others to support this life-saving endeavor as well.”

Mothers who can see their babies through ultrasound are less likely to abort. The Associated Press released info regarding a bill sponsored by Rep. Greg Delleny which would require South Carolina women seeking abortions to view an ultrasound image of their baby before undergoing an abortion. He states this bill is a natural addition to the state’s informed consent law, which requires a woman to be informed about fetal development and offered alternatives to abortion.
The law requires a woman to have at least one hour to think about her decision before ending her pregnancy.
It should be mandantory for a woman to be informed of fetal development and have a chance to actually see her baby; if we can touch upon what I call, her “motherlove,”
the first touch of the human hand upon the baby would be one of caring, instead of brutality. Hopefully, ultrasound and an explanation of fetal development, along with abortion alternatives will be mandantory in every state! Let’s work on that next!
ultrasound is a powerful tool. the first time I saw my son was five weeks after he was conceived. He looked like a little gummi bear with a gigantic head, arms and legs that stuck straight out…but the thing that made me start crying was to see his beating heart…thumping merrily away in the center of his little chest. I had tender breasts, nausea , late period etc…I “knew” I was pregnant, and already being pro-life I knew it was a baby, but actually seeing my little baby alive in me like that…thats when it really hit home, and thinking about it still makes me emotional. it was beautiful.
I really hope more and more cpc’s get equipped with ultrasound…it will save so many children!
I feel it should be a mandatory part of the procedure as well. -[ultrasound] I am wondering how many doctors and clinic workers might NOT show it and say that they did. With all of the falsifications in these clinics today,I sure wouldn’t put it past them.
Ultrasound saves babies in a way that graphic postabort pix can’t, IMHO. I have a theory as to why this is so:
I think postabort photos can be effective by, among other tactics, shaming the parents, i.e., exhibiting a postabort picture may be designed to make the audience ask “would I do/cause this sort of thing?” The emphasis is on the “I,” i.e., the parent. An ultrasound operates by focusing on the living baby, as opposed to focusing on the parent.
Moreover, there are no negative connotation like a post-abort picture. A child can look at a ultrasound, but might be terrified by a postabort photo. Also, an ultrasound is less likely to be subjected to claims of being faked, as some radical pro-aborts claim postabort photos are.
For anyone who’s never seen an ultrasound, part of the amazement comes from just what an ultrasound can discern. Not only can you see a head, a face, hands and feet, etc., but also moving images of a heart beating, blood flowing, kidneys functions, etc., even urine output, i.e., moving images absolutely consistent with HUMAN LIFE.
I have an ultrasound picture of my own child’s face in utero. I keep it in a frame which says “the first time ever I saw your face.” It’s kind of nice. All parents should be so lucky.
Frank, that’s so nice! I just love the 3-D and 4-D ultrasounds. They are soooo beautiful.Anyone that could argue that this wasn’t a human being with rights must be nuts. You can see that baby smile, hide, frown, kick, etc.
The pro-aborts are already complaining about this. They are rapidly running out of excuses to deny what is REALLY going on in-utero.
Sooner or later they will run out of excuses and reasons to deny the FACTS.
I have only heard rediculous arguements from pro aborts/pro- choicers.I can’t even figure out what planet most of them are on.It’s an embryo, fetus, zygote, they say.Well, this is how a human being must begin. We didn’t all emerge from our mother’s wombs without first growing there! These people don’t like what we have to say no matter how we say it.I believe this to be for one reason only….because pro-lifers speak the truth.
