Denver, CO — Operation Rescue announces today that it will join with the Christian Defense Coalition, the Survivors, and a coalition of other pro-life groups in protesting the 2008 Democratic National Convention, which will be held in Denver, Colorado, next August.
“Operation Rescue is committed to peaceful protest to draw attention to the horrors of abortion, which the Democratic Party supports,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. “Abortion is one of the top issues with the American people, and if the Democrats are going to support it, they should be exposed to what it really does to women and pre-born babies. We call on pro-life supporters to come to Denver next August and stand for the cause of Life.”
Operation Rescue operates a fleet of Truth Trucks that display large graphic images of aborted babies. During the 2004 Presidential campaign, the Truth Trucks made headlines with a tour of swing states in the final days before the election.
Dear Operation Rescue –
This move to protest Democrats is the best move yet to strike at the ROOT of the abortion problem. When you clear away all the cloudy excuses, all the muddled court cases, and all the lies and deception of the abortion industry, it is this one body – the DEMOCRAT PARTY – that keeps abortion alive (pun intended – for they could care less about the mass murder in their cherished industry).
When we vote, we generally have two choices – R or D – and even though there are weak Republicans that have crossed over, if Democrats remain in any majorities and get any court picks, we will be that much further away from ending any kind of abortion. So spread the word about this great news.
Hats off to Operation Rescue and the other groups involved! Great move! It does boil down to politics, and there is one party that disrespects life all the time – just look at Kansas and the web of Tiller!
The only suggestion I would have is to get other groups together (especially life groups, but others as well) that have their own battles with the Democrat Party, and unite in a show of force that can not be ignored. Remember, the media is 90% or more Democrat, and part of the problem is the way they portray abortion and conceal any protest! Again, just look at Kansas.
