Operation Rescue® is one of the leading pro-life Christian activist organizations in the nation and has become the voice of the pro-life activist movement in America. Its activities are on the cutting edge of the abortion issue, taking direct action to restore legal personhood to the pre-born and stop abortion in obedience to biblical mandates.

I'm curious Leo, are you as concerned and outraged over the act of rape itself as you are by the rare pregnancy that results from it? What about the rape victim who is beaten, infected with AIDS, or murdered? Is she just another crime statistic to you? So long as she isn't impregnated, well, its not so bad. What action have you taken to get sexual predators locked away for good and to prevent other men, women, and children being victimized? Victims of rape can sleep in peace? How dare you trivialize this despicable crime and the suffering of its victims in such a manner.

Leo, you are in need of a serious wake-up call! "Victims of rape can sleep in peace"?! Read that sentence again! It does not make any sense, whatsoever! I think you meant to say, "Rapists can now sleep in peace". After all, abortion protects them, not the victims. I'm sure you've heard the stats before but just in case you haven't wrapped your little brain around it, LESS THAN 5% of abortions are done because of rape or incest. And I would be willing to bet you that even less women than that actually recovered after their abortion. Abortion doesn't make you un-pregnant. It makes you the mother of a dead baby. The last thing we should do for already scarred rape victims is allow them the emotional trauma of murdering their children. I can understand it would also be extremely hard, both physically and emotionally, carrying the child conceived from rape for nine months, but abortion is NOT the answer! It's a slap in the face- all it says to those women is "Society does not care about you. You can murder your baby, your rapist will get away with it and will be free to do it again."
If you consider voting in favor of abortion the "right thing", you DESPERATELY need to reevaluate your morals. I am still amazed (and not in a good way) at the selfishness of this nation. People are only concerned with how to fix their problems fast. What they are forgetting is that life is not meant to be easily "solved". There are many times of suffering, but out of this suffering, something good will always come. Just look at the situation: an unexpected pregnancy may seem to be a burden for those long, nine months, but in the end, you have the joy of caring for a new baby! A beautiful life! (I'm of course assuming Leo, that you are not married and have never had children- you obviously do not know the special bond mothers and fathers have with their children otherwise you would not take this horrific stance.) Even if the mother intends to put the baby up for adoption, she still has the satisfaction of knowing that she helped bring a life into the world. I'm sure this after feeling is much better than the one abortion brings.
As for your claim: "It was a moral stand..." Pathetic! There is nothing moral about murder of innocent children. And a victory for "personal freedoms"? What about the freedoms of the unborn children? I believe the Founding Fathers made it pretty clear that ALL people- young and old, the unborn, the dying, everyone - are to be given LIFE, LIBERTY, and THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS. Abortion denies all of these rights.
You may think that this is a victory for the pro-choice movement, but I firmly believe that God has allowed this to happen for a reason. Jesus has already won the fight on death. It's just a matter of time before the world begins to realize it. And until that happens, I will be praying for you and the rest of our torn, sinful nation. Life will be victorious!

The abortion ban has been overturned by the voters of South Dakota. This will hopefully discourage other states from similar legislation. Victims of rape can sleep in peace, they no longer have to brood over the rapists spawn. Even in one of the most conservative states in the union, people did the right thing.

It was a moral stand against a theocratic legislature stomping on individual rights. A great constitutional victory for personal freedoms and the separation of church and state. The founding fathers would be proud.
