Wichita, KS – Yesterday, Randall Terry, who is regrettably traveling to the Roeder trial in Wichita, stated in a news release, “We are not coming to condone or condemn Scott Roeder’s actions,” and dared to compare Roeder to the Civil War figure John Brown.
The Advisory Board of Operation Rescue issues the following statement on Randall Terry’s refusal to condemn violence.
“The Board of Operation Rescue wants to make it clear that Randall Terry has no affiliation or involvement with Operation Rescue. That has been the case for over 17 years.
“Sadly, Randall Terry has chosen to abandon the Christ-centered principles contained in the historic Operation Rescue Pledge of Non-violence. By refusing to condemn the actions of Scott Roeder, Mr. Terry has completely abandoned the core principles of Operation Rescue.
“Mr. Terry’s relentless thirst for media attention has led him down a road of extremism, fringe actions, and bizarre media stunts which have isolated him from the pro-life community and the timeless principles of an organization he helped establish.
“Our prayer is that Randall will return to a place of humility and sanity and once again embrace the cross of Christ and stop choosing to be involved in cheap and pathetic public relation stunts that harm the pro-life message.”

Thanks for stating that the way you did.
A no brainer thing came to me that seems trivial on the surface. But the more I think about it, the more I realize that it has the potential to lead us towards a historic change on abortion. There is much debate about grandfather’s consent when the mother who is getting an abortion is a minor. However, I never hear anything about father’s consent. Here’s the no brainer thing that came to me:
If a woman gives a man permission to create something, then shouldn’t she be required to prove that she has his permission to destroy it?
In other words, shouldn’t the father of the unborn child be required to go down to the abortion clinic and sign an abortion consent form? (the exception to this requirement would be rape or abortion that’s needed to save the life of the mother)
This proposed requirement (that a father’s signature be obtained) seems trivial on the surface, but it will later help everyone come to understand that abortion, in most cases, is actually the MAN making a choice to let his own offspring be killed. Then once everyone understands that, a historic breakthrough can finally be made.
I posted this idea that came to me on a Catholic forum in case you want more details:

Thank you for denouncing the comments of Mr Terry. I’m happy to see that this organization doesn’t believe that murdering someone because of your religious beliefs is justifiable. Although I do not share your views on abortion, I am relieved that you have set standards and actually live by your own Christian moral code.
I want to comment on one of “Daniel John”’s statements of Jan 28, where he said that the exception to the dad’s signing a consent form for an abortion would be “rape or abortion that’s needed to save the life of the mother.” When a woman has an abortion because she was raped, she is subjected to a second form of violence on top of the violent crime of rape. And why would God want to punish a little one by having his/her life taken because of the sin of his/her father? Totally unjustifiable. The situation of saving the life of the mother is so remote as to seem puzzling if not laughable. That’s buying into part of the pro-abort mentality that was established prior to 1973.
One should familiarize oneself with what state law says about the conditions for legitimate lethal defense of the innocent before commenting on the issue. The legal reasoning incorporated into the law is based on what Saint Thomas Aquinas explains about the conditions for legitimately defending innocent parties against unjust attacks. We would be wiser people if we had some knowledge and background before spouting our personal opinions.
