Beverly Hills, CA — The Feminist Majority Foundation, whose President is Eleanor Smeal, has graciously recognized and acknowledged their mistake in their online Feminist Daily News Wire article of Oct 7, wherein the FMF debased Operation Rescue’s good name and long-standing history of peaceful non-violent direct pro-life action, by fallaciously claiming that OR and our members have murdered abortion doctors and clinic staff.

In a correction dated Dec 1, 2004 (link) FMF “regrets” their mistake and have printed a retraction and correction on their website.

Chief Counsel for Operation Rescue, Brian Chavez-Ochoa, stated, “We are grateful for the correction in that the allegations were egregious and in complete contradiction of the morals that our group is founded upon. Our foundation is Jesus Christ and as such we must be His light and example. The allegations of murder of abortion doctors and clinic staff by OR members cut to our very core, which precipitated the need for swift and decisive action to correct the false statements from FMF.”

“I find it ironic that we were accused of bloodletting when it has long been FMF’s position to support ‘pro-choice’ which translates into abortion on demand,” said Troy Newman President of Operation Rescue.
