Dr. Hodari, an educated doctor, supposes that he can fully absolve himself of all moral culpability for performing an abortion (even on viable, late-term babies) simply by defering all of the ethical responsibility to the woman. Because it is the “woman’s choice” and he is simply the surgeon obeying her wishes, he is absolved of all moral responsibility for the actions of his own two hands! Would he apply the same falacious logic to procedures other than abortion? Would he be okay with performing a frontal labotomy or amputate a limb on a completely healthy patient because it is the “patient’s choice” and disavow personal responsibility? Sadly, maybe he would! This is the same kind of logic that Nazi war criminals used – “I was just obeying orders”.
