If anyone is uncertain about Planned Parenthood, I encourage you to look at their website. They have these questionaires directed at already pregnant women, asking if they have considered how much trouble a baby will be, etc. They claim to be a medically-based group, but they are really political. There is one section where you can click on your particular political party to learn how to best support them. And the latest figure I heard is that they receive $265 million per year in federal dollars. That’s our money!

Greenfield co-sponsored HB 1296, which requires abortion facilities to offer sonograms to pregnant women under certain circumstances; SB 171, which requires the posting of certain legal notices in abortion facilities and to provide for enforcement through civil suit and the imposition of liquidated damages; and SB 172, which requires that a certain statement of law be read by the attending physician to any pregnant woman prior to performing an abortion. Yet, he opposes the abortion ban. I am baffled.

In my opinion, this is one more piece of evidence that the fifth column is alive and well. Pro-abortionists have infiltrated the Right to Life. This justifies my decision not to include a link to the Right to Life on the list of pro-life links on my website. The genius behind William Wilberforce is that he engaged in co-belligerence in just and wise way. The key to successful co-belligerence was that a co-belligerence was justified if and only if it realistically and practically advances the cause being pursued. Much of today's so called co-belligerence moves in the opposite direction. instead of leading the world into justice they result in Godly and just people becoming farther and farther removed from goodness and justice. A prime example of this occurs when voters vote for the lessor of two evils.

After working so hard on the Vote Yes for Life campaign last fall I was disheartened with South Dakotans in general. But even more so with the National Right to Life in its failure to really step up and make HB 1215 a top priority.

I am not just disheartened now, I am sickened.

The truth is simple. You are either pro-life, or you are not. You can’t ride the fence on this issue. And that is exactly what RTL and sadly, Sen. Greenfield are both doing. They should know by now that pro-lifers are a strong voice and do not except mediocracy on this issue. They have failed the cause.

As “friend” stated- this did happen in early 2004 also.

And the reason is that NRLC (national right to life comittee) has a “35 year plan” (gee, that was a few years ago, maybe we’re down to 32 or 30 or 28… who knows?) to end abortion.

THEIR plan. Not MY plan. Not God’s plan. Not OR’s plan. Not the millions-and-millions-of lives’-between-now- and-then plan.

Since then, I have stopped giving ANY (and it wasn’t much) financial support to NRLC (and I am a member of my state’s affiliate). I encourage others to NOT GIVE to them either. In general I believe in accepting everyone into the pro-life movement- and I believe there are many tactics to take and that there is a place for EVERYONE (young, old, rich, poor, religious and not). But at this I personally draw a line.

I understand being pragmatic. But this movement is about SAVINGS lives. And so no matter what, we need to remember the ideals to which we are fighting for.

Shouldn’t the goal of EVERY SINGLE pro-life group be to NOT NEED TO EXIST ANYMORE?

Or maybe, there’s ulterior motives, or simply corrupted motives…. a payroll ? Any system generally seeks to preserve itself, that’s why it exists. But we should be ever willing to let our groups cease to exist if it meant “winning the war”.

It is absolutely disgusting to me that NRLC or ANY of the state affiliates (or anyone working for either) would seek to destroy ANY hard fought gains.

This isn’t the first time SDRTL and Planned Parenthood have worked together to defeat pro-life legislation. In 2004, as Kate Looby of PP stated, “we make strange bedfellows”, RTL also opposed HB 1191. The rationale behind their thinking is that the Supreme Court is not positioned correctly to overturn Roe. After 34 years of waiting, I still haven’t figured out when SDRTL thinks that day will come. Definitely not in the forseeable future. So, in the meantime, they want everyone to continue donating money to them, and they will continue working in this strange and unusual way.

Heywood, How can anyone possibly say there is a reason?

Can YOU tell us any reason those who are to side with the babies, side with the baby killers to insure babies are killed?

The only one I can come up with is they prefer dead babies to live ones so the RTL funding keeps coming to line their pockets.

Troy and Cheryl would sacrfice all they have to stop their pay checks and be able to move on to another gospel issue of ministry.
