Evangelical Outreach at Abortion Chaplain’s Funeral

OR Remembers Aborted Babies While Offering the Gospel Message

Wichita, KS — Operation Rescue conducted a peaceful First Amendment evangelical outreach outside the Orpheum Theater in downtown Wichita where the public funeral service for George Gardner was being held. Gardner was the “chaplain” at George Tiller’s late-term abortion mill, Women’s Health Care Services. He baptized the remains of aborted children and falsely encouraged women that God somehow favored their abortions. The outreach also included a memorial to the pre-born babies Gardner helped to kill during his employment at WHCS.

Operation Rescue displayed an infant sized casket with a banner that read “Gardner’s Legacy: The Human Tragedy of Aborted Babies. Who mourns for them?” Some rescuers held scripture signs with verses such as “Jesus said, ‘I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.’”

Brad Bennett and Cheryl Sullenger offered salvation tracts to the funeral attendees, who included late-term abortionist George Tiller and his wife, Jeanne, and abortion mill “deathscort” Candy Krueger who threw her lit cigarette at Cheryl Sullenger, hitting her. A large number of homosexuals also attended the services. Many people accepted the salvation tracts. Some funeral attendees even thanked the Christians for their presence while a few expressed disapproval, but most quietly entered the theater without comment.

Security guards from Tiller’s abortion mill were on hand, at first extending their arms and physically blocking the Christians from offering their literature. Once this was called to the attention of the Wichita Police, the abortion mill security guards backed off and behaved. Cooperation from the Wichita Police Department was outstanding and contributed to the peacefulness and effectiveness of the outreach.

Operation Rescue wishes to extend sympathy to the friends and family of George Gardner on their loss, and encourage all who followed Gardner’s heretical teachings to repent from their sins and seek Jesus Christ for forgiveness and salvation, if they have not already done so. OR also expresses grief for the pre-born babies that Gardner helped to kill and prays that one day, all pre-born children will be afforded the human dignity, protection, and respect that was denied to so many during Gardner’s lifetime.

Operation Rescure is a calloused group, attending a funeral of an abortionist to pass out your insensitive theocratic literature. You make a fetish of Jesus and a mockery of His teachings. Judge Not, least thee be judged.” What one does in their home (which is their castle), in their bed room, is a private matter. If a pregnant woman and the father, in agreement with their physician, decide to have an abortion - that’s their business. Even the unnatural (perverted) homosexuals have privacy to commit their obsenities their bedrooms - What you don’t know, without peeking, is none of your business. You are as bad as the crazed Islamic fanatics who bomb school buses, behead innocent hostages, and shoot innocent women and children etc. while they scream “Allah, God is Great.” You are no different, no less evil than the radical Moslem terrorists who deny women education, jobs, or the right to hold public jobs or office. You certainly don’t belong in the land of the free - America. Disguested, Clarence E. Lovell, Denver, c.e.lovell@worldnet.att.net

careful, your intense liberalism is showing….

the problem with your empty views, is that you have it exactly backward. what abortionists do every day, tearing babies limb from limb and tossing their broken bodies into dumpsters and incinerators, is far closer to the terrorist mindset. what ORW does is to expose these actions for what they are. period. because the actions are so offensive to your sensibilities (and that shows that there’s hope for you yet, because you haven’t been totally hardened beyond the point of no return), you mistakenly take out your anger and “disgust” on those who brought the evil to your attention, rather than those who profit from it.

moving on, the jesus you refer to never existed. the Jesus of Holy Scripture bears no relation to the one you apparently worship. your jesus is a figment of your imagination, someone who went around giving people hugs, but never hurt a fly or confronted anyone. please don’t embarass all of us by trying to quote a verse totally out of context because you think it fits your nonsensical point - Jesus said in another place “judge not according to appearance, but JUDGE RIGHTEOUS JUDGEMENT”. the verse you refer to has to do with the measure which someone judges, that is what they will be judged by.

the idea that it’s a woman’s private business whether to kill her child - is it her private business to drown that same child in her bathtub, two or three years later? same child, same reasoning, same woman, same choice. you see how quickly your thought process falls apart when examined?

besides all that though, you go get yourself a Bible and show us all where it condones a woman, contracting with someone else, to have her child killed. it’s not there, but i urge you to look anyway - maybe you might learn something. as it stands now, clarence, you’re Biblically illiterate.

As a Christian and Life Activist, I recognize the necessity of sometimes making people uncomfortable for the sake of bringing them to the Truth. But to show up at a man’s funeral to taunt his grieving family is not serving any end but that of cruelty. Can you imagine Jesus there in that capacity? I can’t. When a man has died, it is time for forgiveness no matter what he did in his lifetime. I’m ashamed on behalf of Operation Rescue for its failure of judgment and absence of Christian mercy.

  4. David Says:

    Jerry,

Yet again in attempting your point to Clarence, I think you only reinforce one I have made; your methods of approach rely on attack & intimidate.

Immediately you begin with remarks like “empty views”, and continue in a manner of personal attack designed to belittle your fellow man. Why, Jerry, do you feel need to elevate yourself and your cause by means of downtrodding others, rather than “selling” your viewpoint based on it’s merits?

Next, as I’ve noted you also seem to have penchant for, you are compelled to “correct” others on INTERPRETATION of the Bible as if you were the only one who knew it’s true meaning.

There is an old, profound saying: “You don’t know what you don’t know.” Even as the “eight year old attempting debate on relativity” you’ve described me as, I can & do understand it’s depth. Stooping to your level here- Fear not, Jerry; I have high hopes you, too, will someday grasp it’s meaning in, let’s say, the next 4 or 5 years (by your scale). As far as you are concerned, your “right” is the only “right,” and you seemingly only wish to preach, never to listen.

In conclusion, you need not worry of my posting any further comment here; my time is far too precious to waste in argument with those who simply seem to wish to argue for arguments sake. It serves no betterment or education in life. In regarding things from your view, I’d only ask you do me the favor of not praying for my redemption; considering an eternity with you, I’d rather just send you a postcard from hell.

To those who embrace/oppose abortion & wish to work in a constructive manner, I offer my best wishes.

sounds like the truth is starting to bother you….

i speak with confidence, since i KNOW i am right, and that obviously infuriates you. but it’s not self-righteousness that motives me. i’m only right because the Creator of all things is right, and i will stand on the foundation of His truth rather than the shifting sands where you’ve chosen to make your stand. but as far as the life issue goes, i can easily stand on the firm foundation of biology and science, since the “God” concept seems to really grate on your sensibilities.

you see, david, i have done my homework and know the truth and am willing to repeat it over and over again if necessary, even when people like yourself are too stubborn and stiff-necked to hear it. would that you would investigate these matters with an open mind and seek the truth, wherever it may lead you, instead of coming on this site with your closed mind and ‘a priori’ reasoning.

when you have something intelligent to say, and i’m still waiting for that moment, then i will “listen”. thus far, your words represent a completely vacuous world view, and demonstrate a lack of even the most basic knowledge about important matters.

i would urge you, most of all, not to be so flippant about the question of where you will spend eternity.

i don’t see that anyone ‘taunted’ anyone or that a ‘lack of mercy’ was shown to anyone.

handing someone a gospel tract is hardly taunting, and having a quiet, silent witness to gardner’s legacy seems oddly appropriate, since even with this ‘remembrance service’, gardner
received much more respect and dignity at his passing than any of the babies whose death he presided over ever did.

anyone bothered by the remembrance service
is really bothered by what gardner’s proabortion work represented.

  7. Gary Drumm Says:

Good job ORW! Every opportunity that can be taken should be taken. If Gardner had been a Nazi in the 1940’s and activits were quietly holding scriptural signs about the holocaust, I wonder if these liberals would have the nerve to complain. The fact remains that abortion is 1000’s of times worse than what the Nazi’s did to the Jews, and Gardner had a huge part of this.

Keep up the good work. Expose these murderers for what they are. Vote Bush!

  8. Julie Says:

Drop that coffin in the ground and get on with the real stuff. Murder is Murder…..look at it anyway you want!!! God hates the hands that shed innocent BLOOD. It is not hard to understand. Get it!!! People need to get off the fence already!!!! God only sees in black and white….no gray area. Keep exposing the evil!!!
    Vote Bush!!!!

  9. Workman Says:

It is mindboggling that abortion is a controversial matter at all. It is so very plainly (regardless of which direction one approaches it from), the most uncivilized, inhuman, horrific, gruesome, cruel, heartless, merciless, pitiless, and sickening act that could befall a precious child. These little miracles have been created by God and given souls; souls that will survive for eternity without being afforded the opportunity to live their time on earth, as their creator had planned. How frightening to destroy what God has created and mess in His business! These are little people that feel pain, and what horrifying pain they are subjected to! Procedures that should befall no man! How anyone can view a destruction of human flesh in any form as acceptable is shockingly astounding. May God forgive all those in the business of doing so, those that support it, and those that are unaffected and uncaring regarding it. Truly they are monsters and/or so completely deceived that they are incapable of knowing/feeling/understanding truth. Surely they have been blinded.

Farewell, Gardner. May you have known truth and experienced redemption before your passing.

  10. Karen Says:

I dreamed that I was pregnant. And not married. And not wanting a baby. And it was over 2,00 years ago and I was standing beside JESUS CHRIST himself. I tell him I am pregnant and am not married and do not want the baby. He already knows. Do you REALLY believe that God himself would have looked at me and said, “yes, go ahead and have someone destroy the fetus/baby in your womb?” If ANYONE believes that then you are believing the master of all evil and lies.
