With any intervention, the risks must be weighed against benefit. Vaccines represent perhaps the most important public health measure in the last 30 years. Thousands of Americans die from the flu each year, particularly the vulnerable (chronically ill, elderly, young). But many people get the flu and do not die. That is why the CDC highly recommends the flu vaccine for certain individuals, not the entire population.

The only ‘assurance’ we really have is the reality that Christ is risen, and that he is going to come back.

Everything else is a decision we have to make. I would not overly trust any vaccine, but I would not trust the diseases either. America is a very cosmopolitan place, with people coming and going, and kids who are not vaccinated are put in jeopardy by their parents.

Isaiah 59:15-20 tells us that when there is no justice God’s “arm” works out salvation and administers justice. Compare the reference to the helmet of salvation in verse 17 to Ephesians 6:10-18 and we have a call to spiritual warfare. Spiritual warfare against the powers of darkness brings salvation and judgment.

Speaking of judgment, Kansas is ripe for judgment for her coverups of murders and child rapes. While I do not claim to be a prophet, I am convinced that judgment is coming to Kansas. The weather forecast this summer: record tornadoes ripping through Kansas.

Its a matter of consequences.

If parents give children booze at home because they believe it is “safer” than having them drink elsewhere- they promote drunkeness.

If parents advocate for condom usuage because it is “safer” sex, they advocate for fornication.

If we allow the government to FORCE our children “protection” from the consequences of sin, we advocate for less then perfection, they are more apt to sin if the threat of some consequences are removed or limited. God does not encourage sin, neither should we.

God does not remove the consequnces of sin. Nor does He sell ‘endulgences’ as some religions might.

God is a loving parent who teaches His child in the way in which to go- warns His child of the consequences of going off path and allows the just consequences as His mercy is shown in His justice. The loving Father’s example is there for us to learn by. Some refuse to be taught, both children and adults.
