Operation Rescue® is one of the leading pro-life Christian activist organizations in the nation and has become the voice of the pro-life activist movement in America. Its activities are on the cutting edge of the abortion issue, taking direct action to restore legal personhood to the pre-born and stop abortion in obedience to biblical mandates.

Touche, Christina! Roe v. Wade was one of the most unfortunate blows to women to come down the pike in a long time, yet is was hailed by its proponents as such an advance. How cynically false and cruel are most of their claims...though I can recall a few exceptions, the first where Planned Parenthood not only conceded a profound point to a vocal prolife feminist, but framed it as "quote of the month" on one of their newsletters.

Here is the quote (again!)... "No woman wants an abortion as she wants an ice cream cone or a Porsche. She wants an abortion as an animal caught in a trap wants to gnaw off its own leg."

Here are some more comments from other prolife feminists on the subject...

"Guilty? Yes. No matter what the motive, love of ease, or a desire to save from suffering the unborn innocent, the woman is awfully guilty who commits the deed. It will burden her conscience in life, it will burden her soul in death; But oh, thrice guilty is he who drove her to the desperation which impelled her to the crime!" -- Susan B. Anthony

"When we consider that women are treated as property, it is degrading to women that we should treat our children as property to be disposed of as we see fit."

"There must be a remedy even for such a crying evil as this. But where shall it be found, at least where begin, if not in the complete enfranchisement and elevation of women?" -- Elizabeth Cady Stanton

"The rights of children as individuals begin while yet they remain the foetus." Victoria Woodhull, first female presidential candidate (Hitlery, are you listening?!)

"Child murderers practice their profession without let or hindrance, and open infant butcheries unquestioned...Is there no remedy for all this ante-natal child murder?...Perhaps there will come a time when...an unmarried mother will not be despised because of her motherhood...and when the right of the unborn to be born will not be denied or interfered with."
-- Sarah Norton

"Women becoming, consequently, weaker...than they ought to be...have not sufficient strength to discharge the first duty of a mother; and sacrificing to lasciviousness the parental affection...either destroy the embryo in the womb, or cast if off when born. Nature in every thing demands respect, and those who violate her laws seldom violate them with impunity."
- Mary Wollestonecraft, in "A Vindication of the Rights of Women"

"Abortion is the ultimate exploitation of women." -- Alice Paul.

"Women who are experiencing an unplanned pregnancy also deserve unplanned joy." -- Patricia Heaton, of "Everybody loves Raymond"... and unplanned grief, guilt, and destruction are the lot of those who submit to abortion.

Two others random points of light that have managed somehow to pierce a community generally committed to darkness;

“AN ABORTION KILLS THE LIFE OF A BABY AFTER IT HAS BEGUN. IT IS DANGEROUS TO YOUR LIFE AND HEALTH. IT MAY MAKE YOU STERILE, SO THAT WHEN YOU WANT A CHILD YOU CANNOT HAVE IT…”
-- Planned Parenthood has a fit of relative honesty, albeit tactical, and admits that induced abortion is both genocide and ‘gynocide’, in a 1963 pamphlet on birth control. Although PP has changed its tune considerably since 1973, especially when selling abortion “services” to women in crisis, nothing else about abortion has changed between 1963 and now…and they know it, as do other pro-abortionists. . .

“In medical practice, there are few surgical procedures given so little attention and so underrated in its potential hazards as abortion. It is a commonly held view that complications are inevitable.” Warren Hern, world renowned abortionist...who continues killing, to this day, despite the danger to women.

“People do not realize that there are thousands of serious physical complications from abortion every year in this country.”
--Dr. Bernard Nathanson, OB Gyn. — founder of NARAL and former abortionists, who STOPPED performing, supervising, and advocating abortion when he realized the humanity of the unborn child...and so recovered his own humanity.

Here are a few more quotes from other prolife activists on the subject...

"Abortion is war on women, cleverly disguised as a promotion of their rights".

"PRO-CHOICE", YOUR NAME'S A LIE;
BABIES DO NOT CHOOSE TO DIE

"SAFE & LEGAL", WHAT A LIE!
SEVEN TIMES MORE WOMEN DIE
(based on a conservative estimate of the pro-abortion Center for Disease Control in the late 80's-early 90's)

Can't wait to see some of these quoted-in an honest, non-derisive context - by NOW, et al.

...and, as always, any interested parties are heartily encouraged to visit the Blackmun Wall at lifedynamics.com. It's a little dated in that many more names belong on it now; so many abortion mills have been shut down and each of those represents at least several women killed; it's just the nature of abortion to endanger women, legal or not. .. and, of course, if you haven't already, add Mark Crutcher's book LIME5 to any summer reading program you may have...or may start.

Some other related good reads for the summer are:

CLOSED, by Joseph Scheidler

GRAND ILLUSIONS by George Grant

THE NAZI DOCTORS by Robert Jay Lifton

AUSCHWITZ by Dr. Miklos Nyizsli

JUSTICE AT NUREMBERG by Robert Conot

LOVE THEM BOTH by Dr. & Mrs. Jack Willke (can be read online at abortionfacts.com)

...and anything you can get your hands on by William Brennan. "Dehumanizing the Vulnerable: When Word Games Take Lives" is still in print; "The Abortion Holocaust: Today's Final Solution" is not, but a copy of a copy can be obtained by contacting biblefortoday.org.

Also, "Behold a Pale Horse" by William Cooper - not for the faint- is also worth looking into.

Happy reading!

The darkness hates the light.

Did you know that the head of the Montgomery chapter of NOW called the clinic's closing <a href="http://realchoice.blogspot.com/2006/06/huge-blow-for-women.html" rel="nofollow">"unfortunate" and "a blow for women"</a>? Gosh, how <i>unfortunate</i> that there won't be anybody in Montgomery handing out abortion pills like trick-or-treat candy and endangering women's lives!
