Prayer Vigils at the US Supreme Court for Two Important Abortion Cases
Please join Operation Rescue in praying for pro-life victories.
Washington, DC — Operation Rescue will join with other pro-life groups in the nation’s capital this week for prayer vigils on behalf of two abortion-related cases that are scheduled to be heard by the Supreme Court of the United States on Wednesday. These will be the first cases involving abortion to be heard by the Court under new Chief Justice John Roberts.
Where:
In front of the Supreme Court, Washington DC
When:
The Supreme Court will hear arguments on Wednesday at 10:00AM for an historic third time in NOW v. Scheidler. This marathon case, brought by the National Organization for Women (NOW) in 1986, sued Joseph Scheidler and other pro-lifers under the federal anti-racketeering laws (RICO) for adversely affecting abortion mill business. In February 2003, the Supreme Court issued an 8-1 ruling in favor of the pro-lifers right to free speech. Now the case is back to the Supreme Court in a dispute over a lower court ruling. (Read more about NOW v. Scheidler)
Immediately after that at 11:00 the Court will hear Ayotte v. Planned Parenthood, a challenge to a New Hampshire law that required parental notification for minor girls to receive abortions. The New Hampshire law was challenged because, although it contained an exception to preserve the life of the mother, it contained no such exception for the health of the mother. Legislators intentionally left out the health exception fearing that it would essentially invalidate the law. This case has the potential to redefine abortion law. (Read more about Ayotte v. Planned Parenthood)
If you cannot come to Washington, DC, please take time wherever you are on Tuesday and Wednesday to pray for pro-life victories in both of these landmark cases.

I had an abortion and talk about it in my book I Am Not A Victim, I’m A Ministry Gift. I invite you to read it because it tells how God healed my heart concerning this issue. Here’s a link to the book found at: Saber Ministries.
