Against All Odds: The Story of Sage Elisabeth

Mom who was held captive at an abortion mill overcomes tremendous obstacles to save her baby’s life

WICHITA, KS — Sage Elisabeth’s entry into the world was one that was by no means assured. Sage’s mom, a beautiful young woman named Andrea was facing a time of crisis. Life had not been easy for Andrea. Her mother had been murdered in Oklahoma on the eve of her college graduation when Andrea was only three. She had only met her father four or five times in her life, and he had passed away in 2002 from complications of drug and alcohol addiction. She was raised in a small Oklahoma town by her maternal grandmother, who also recently died. This left Andrea alone by the age of 20 and totally dependent on her boyfriend, with whom she already had a 4-year old child.

Her boyfriend insisted on abortion for the baby she was now carrying and on December 2, 2004, Andrea succumbed to his pressure. Andrea persuaded to her girl friend, Billie to take her from her home in Hutchinson, KS, to Tiller’s abortion mill in Wichita for what she falsely told Billie was the removal of a “blood clot.” Once at the mill, sidewalk counselors Terry Read and Anna Wood spoke with Billie and gave her a copy of “The Tiller Report,” Operation Rescue’s exposé on the late-term abortionist. Billie, who was pro-life, was shocked to learn that she had been tricked into participating in an abortion of Andrea’s 12-week old child. Feeling betrayed, Billie returned to Hutchinson without Andrea, unaware of the drama unfolding just inside the clinic doors.

WICHITA, KS — Over five months after a 19-year old Texas teen died in January during a late-term abortion received at Women’s Health Care Services, the infamous late-term abortion mill owned and operated by George R. Tiller, the autopsy report is still unavailable. The delay in releasing the autopsy has placed on hold an investigation by the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts into possible improprieties that may have led to the unfortunate maternal death.

Why would the County Medical Examiner withhold this autopsy report for over five months when others are routinely released within 6-8 weeks? Evidence points to the possibility of a cover-up, and the key to understanding why this young woman died may lie in the fact that she had Down’s Syndrome.

Tiller is a man who prides himself of ridding society of the unfit or the imperfect. He describes himself as the “doctor of last resort” for women bearing children with “fetal anomalies” including Down’s Syndrome. He has made it his job to kill disabled people in the womb under the guise of alleviating their “suffering.”
With that in mind, let us examine the events of last January when Tiller and his employee, partial-birth abortionist LeRoy Carhart of Omaha, Nebraska, were presented with a pregnant young lady who happened to have Down’s Syndrome. There were a number of decisions made that, if done differently, may have spared the life of this special young lady. These decisions indicate that the Tiller/Carhart team did not care if she died.

First was the reckless decision to abort the late-term child at his clinic, instead of a hospital. The fact that the mother was Down’s Syndrome increased the risk factors for a dangerous late-term abortion, but Tiller did not take the precaution of seeking to have the surgery done in a hospital setting where complications could be immediately addressed. Instead he began the three to four day abortion procedure with the probable help of Carhart, at his abortion clinic, which is not equipped to handle life-threatening complications. But something went terribly wrong, and this started a cascade of events that culminated in the death of the young lady, which we will refer to as Anna.

Two Florida Abortion Facilities to Close

Abortion clinic evicted in West Palm Beach, FL

[We praise the Lord for the efforts of M. Susan Pine and her group of Christian warriors in Florida. The abortion mill owners did not inform the landlords the true nature of their grisly work. Just a few people obeying the scripture to expose the unfruitful deeds of darkness made all the difference! Please join us in praying that these two abortion mills will not be able to find other accommodations. —OR Staff]

Press Release: For immediate release, Thursday, June 23rd, 2005

West Palm Beach, FL — As of Midnight Thursday, June 16th, 2005 the WomanCare abortion clinic at 750 S Military Trail, West Palm Beach has been evicted. The location on Military Trail was the 3rd for WomanCare within the past few short years.

“It is my understanding that WomanCare misrepresented themselves to the property owner in order to secure the location. Although WomanCare is an abortion center, they made no statements to the fact that they perform abortions. That is often the case for abortuaries. They, themselves know that abortion centers are not welcomed in our communities” states M Susan Pine, President of FACE Life a local Pro-life nonprofit.

Tammy Sobieski that opened WomanCare West Palm Beach also has a location in Cocoa that she opened August 21, 2000 WomanCare at 412 High Point Drive, Cocoa, FL 32926 Phone 321-504-3114 or 800-231-6169 or (800)432-8517. It appears she has lost that location as well. Sobieski was required to notify the property owner by June 19, 2005 of her intent to renew a lease and failed to do so, evidently an oversight. That oversight cost her the Coca location. That property manager also wanted the abortion center out and by August 19, his wish will come true.

In response to the closing of the facilities and Tammy Sobieski future? M Susan Pine stated:

“We are thrilled that there are two less facilities in our beautiful state that are focused on the destruction of innocent human life, that exploit women in dire and unusual circumstances, and that rob men of their fatherhood. We will pray that Tammy Sobieski will now turn towards using her God-given talents to truly help women, children, and families by helping to grow a Culture of Life in our community rather than that of death and destruction.”
