Wichita, Kansas – May 29, 2004 Operation Rescue West was conducting a Neighborhood Prayer Walk on May 27, near the home of one of George Tiller’s abortion mill workers, Joan Armentrout, when a man driving a large white pick-up stopped to speak to Michele Herzog about the pro-life outreach. “He seemed very, very angry,” said Michele, who had quietly spoken to him in an attempt to calm the situation and reason with him, but to no avail.

attmurder2.jpgThe man left but returned a few minutes later and drove over the curb and onto the grass, narrowly missing a group of pro-life picketers, including Michele and her young daughter, Rebecca. He then backed up and attempted to run into other pro-lifers but was thankfully thwarted when his tire became stuck in a storm drain. All the while, he was yelling threats and cursing. The entire incident was caught on videotape.

Wichita, Kansas - May 27, 2004 Operation Rescue West has learned that apostate minister George Gardner, 68, of the Unity Church of Wichita, has lung cancer, which has spread to his brain and lymph nodes. Gardner’s condition is regarded as very serious. He is currently in California seeking a holistic cure to his terminal illness. Gardner has previously survived two bouts with prostate cancer but chances for his cure this time are unfavorable.

George and TroyGardner gained national infamy in the employment of late-term abortionist George Tiller where he served as abortion mill chaplain. There, he provided spiritual covering for child-killing, in direct opposition to Biblical revelation, and baptized the broken remains of pre-born children killed at Tiller’s abortion mill, Women’s Health Care Services, in Wichita, Kansas. Gardner has referred to his work at Tiller’s abortion mill as his “most profound” work ever.

Pro-Abortion politics are a thing of the past in Wichita, so go home if you are a friend of the abortion industry!

Wichita, KS — As the city of Wichita narrows the search for a new city manager, the nation’s foremost activist anti-abortion group, Operation Rescue West, has a message for the nominating committee: Friends of abortionist George Tiller need not apply!

Candidate Pat DiGiovanni was cut from the field under a cloud of pro-gay controversy. Take note, Pro-abortion candidates: You are not welcome in Wichita, either.

While former City Manager Chris Cherches was a pal of the notorious baby killer for many years, and even chummed with Tiller at his affluent, east-side church, the new candidates for City Manager are put on notice that abortion cronyism will not be tolerated. Wichita is known as the abortion Capital of the World, and pro-lifers have made it the frontline of the abortion battlefield.

“Chris Cherches represents one of the last in an era of pro-Tiller politicians. Clearly the winds of change are blowing and any new City Manager had better know well that pro-abortion politics in Wichita is a thing of the past. Only pro-life candidates need apply in this polarized community,”* said Troy Newman, President, Operation Rescue West.

*Operation Rescue West recently conducted a major poll in Wichita that revealed an overwhelming majority of Wichitans, a whopping 69%, consider themselves staunchly pro-life and against Tiller’s late term abortion business.
