Sidewalk counselor uses the “dirt” on troubled abortion chain to warn women and save lives
Chula Vista, CA – Sidewalk counselors in Chula Vista, California, are using information about an abortionist chain’s scandalous history to save lives.
Luis Mendoza reports that on Saturday, February, 9, 2008, he was ministering at the notorious Clinica Medica Para La Mujer De Hoy abortion mill in Chula Vista when he was able to share some of the clinic’s history with a woman who was waiting in her car for her 30-year old daughter, who had just entered the mill for an abortion.
He told her that abortionist, Nolan Jones, the troubled abortionist who works there, and the legal problems that the clinic owner, Bertha Bugarin, is currently facing. (Learn more about Jones and Bugarin.)
“I told her about the abortionist’s extensive record of gross negligence and his being fired from a hospital for negligence,” said Mendoza. “I described how the true owner of these clinics was arrested for impersonating a doctor. I handed her copies of the articles and legal documents. She went in to the mill to warn her daughter. The daughter came out of the clinic and confirmed with me what her mother told her. They left immediately.”
The previous day, Mendoza had an encounter at that same mill with another woman who did not heed his warnings or offers of help.
“One Hispanic woman in her early thirties stopped to speak with me when I told her that the abortionist had his license suspended for 60 days and the license was on probation until 2009. She was nervous when I told her about the raiding of this clinic by the sheriffs department and other sordid details of this abortuaries history,” said Mendoza.
“She began to weep and called her boyfriend on her cell to get advice on what to do. Her boyfriend encouraged her to abort. So in spite our efforts she went in to the mill. About 45 minutes later she exited from the mill and spoke to me. ‘You are right,’ she said, ‘there is something wrong with that doctor. He stopped in the middle of the procedure and left the room to get something he forgot.’”
These two incidents speak volumes about the importance of sidewalk counseling and the need for sidewalk counselors to be informed about the problems at their local abortion mills.
“Every abortion mill has problems. It is just the nature of the beast. Sharing the documentation of those problems with women can make the difference between life and death, not only for the pre-born baby, but for the woman as well,” said Operation Rescue Senior Policy Advisor Cheryl Sullenger, who has nearly 25 years of sidewalk counseling experience and has written a training manual on the subject.
“Also, Luis was able to obtain another testimony from a patient that ‘there is something wrong’ with the abortionist. These stories can be gathered and reported to authorities and medical boards to help stop these people from hurting others,” said Sullenger.
“The latter encounter also powerfully illustrates how men use abortion, without concern for the well-being of the woman, to avoid the responsibility of their actions,” said Sullenger. “To pressure a crying, desperate woman into entering a place like that horrific mill in Chula Vista, knowing the dangers, really shows how abortion had not freed women, but made them little more than objects for men’s pleasure, and has placed them in bondage to bear the dreadful consequences on their own. Thank God for those who reach out to these women, and at least give them the opportunity for something better.”

any man pressuring a crying woman into a butcher shop isn’t worth a thing. real men don’t wish their children dead.
i am really tired of hearing about how abortion is “liberating” for women. NO, it isn’t. you can physically remove that pre-born child from her body, but never from her mind. it is not natural to kill your own child & there’s nothing “liberating” in feeling the guilt of being complicit in taking an innocent life every day. abortion is just exploitave & dangerous, as OR proves time & time again with each story.
Anne…and don’t forget how “empowering” it’s supposed to be, as well. I have always loved THAT one.
Abortion is the ULTIMATE exploitation of women, and the sooner women realize it, the sooner they’ll reject it entirely.
The clinic let this woman out after only 45 minutes???? don’t they have to moniter her to make sure there are no complications?
mike..ah, yes the “empowerment”..it takes a special kind of subhuman to feel “empowered” by ripping a baby limb from limb as the abortionist does. and women have bought into the lie that abortion is GOOD for them. it doesn’t take much to figure out that an act that results in a dead child & a permanently wounded woman ( be it physical or emotional ) is degrading & exploitave. if women would band together & demand better, demand that men take responsibility for their children, & be the mothers that God intended, there would be no more abortion and that would be true empowerment.
I know several women (myself included) who’ve had abortions. They herd you through like cattle. The “doctor” doesn’t speak….he was busy cashing in on all of the bodies he destroyed that day. One right after the other. I remember lying on the floor on a mat with a bunch of other women. We were all in a big room on our mats and not for a very long time…. they needed to keep things rolling so they could continue the cashflow. There was no liberating feeling after my child’s death. I was crying from emotional pain and a “clinic” worker told me that I had the right to do this whether it was one abortion or five. This is very personal, but I want to save lives. We can no longer be silent and afraid to speak the truth!! Abortion is NEVER ok. The Lord has forgiven me, but I am uncertain if I will ever forgive myself. I long for my child everyday. There is a sickness among “clinic” workers. Either they are cold hearted or so brainwashed they detach themselves from all of the evil around them.
Thankyou for sharing your story Chris. I wish more post-abortive women felt comfortable enough to speak out. If women would speak up, abortion would end.
chris, i also paid an abortionist to murder my pre-born child & i struggle with forgiving myself as well. i aborted my baby at george tiller’s mill & it took years before i could face what i had done honestly. it sounds to me like abortionists are the same all the way around..herd the women in like cattle, give them the “abortion is your right & its good for you” speech, & move onto the next woman..speaking out & keeping other women from buying into the lie of abortion is the best thing we can do.
I appreciate the above statements and agree that if more post abortive women would have the courage to come forward with their story, we would have fewer abortions. They usually hide their secret and keep their pain. Even though they may confess to God and receive forgiveness on a personal level, it qould likely be more liberating to help others who have had abortions free themselves and at the same time give testimony to women who are candidates for abortion. If women shared their experiences, abortion would not be considered a simple procedure to be taken lightly.
I am an ER nurse, I have taken care of more women than I can count who have come to the hospital for post abotion complications; bleeding, retained products of conception, infection, pain. However, the worst is SUICIDAL ATTEMPTS, and I have seen this over and over again. Please, please reach out for help if you are hurt from abortion.
